It is a disappointment that there is no addition of a powerful TDI variant into the line up

The new VW head who came from Hyundai has already started taking some correct measures by reducing the prices and making Vento more competitive. Let's hope they come back on track with respect to sales.

The new things on the face lift seems to be not very great

As far as present POLO diesel is concerned the issues are

1. Ground clearance
2. High engine noise
3. Low head room
4. High pricing
5. High maintenance,spare parts cost

If this cosmetic face-lift the price will go up which already very high and instead of buying this people will opt for Vento for few more rupees

Features added in VW Polo are good and handy but Problem in Volkswagen Polo especially TDI Engines is the Ground Clearance and Frequemt Oil Sump Damages leading to Engine getting ceased which costs close to 4 Lacs.Quite a Pain replacing such costly Engine from your pocket!

Hey Gurrala, the prices of highline variant have been slashed and the new features have been added like new HU with usb, BT, steering controls etc.
With lesser price and more features buying polo makes more sense than before.

I would say the only down point with the polo is the 3 pot TDI engine. The tank like built quality of VW and the superior ride quality are amazing.
Now Swift ZDi would have a close competetor. If MSIL doesn't take steps to decrease the waiting period of Swift by ramping up production they would sometimes feel the heat

Updated VW Polo, Vento launched
VW launches refreshed Polo and Vento with new features. Prices for the Polo Highline start at Rs 6.94 lakh and the Vento Highline costs Rs 9.89 lakh.

Volkswagen has launched refreshed versions of its Polo hatch and Vento saloon with added features to boost its sales volumes.

The new Polo and Vento now get black inserts in the headlights and new alloy wheel design. Upgrades to the cabin are more prominent and include leather-wrapped steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake lever, a new music system with USB, Bluetooth connectivity, speed sensing volume control and steering wheel-mounted audio controls. In addition to these, the Vento also gets a new navigation system with a rear-view camera.

Commenting on the occasion, Arvind Saxena, MD, Volkswagen Passenger Cars said, “Introduction of new features in the Polo and the Vento will further excite the customers as both the models will offer more value now.”

Surprisingly, the top-end variants of the Polo and the Vento models are now cheaper by around Rs 40,000 and Rs 30,000 respectively. The Trendline and Comfortline variants of both models are dearer by Rs 11,000-22,000.

The new Polo Trendline (petrol) will cost Rs 4.89 lakh as against Rs 4.67 lakh, while the top-end Highline (diesel) is now priced at Rs 6.94 lakh, as opposed to Rs 7.36 lakh. The Vento Trendline (petrol) is now for Rs 7.29 lakh - up by Rs 11,000 - while the top-end Vento Highline (diesel) is priced at Rs 9.89 lakh. (All prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

Volkswagen will start sales of the refreshed cars by the second half of September 2012.

I guess polo/vento stock flooded in their yard, so they just change the lights/alloys/steering in existing cars & now they will sell as facelift lol

No, its not so. The models will be newly manufactured, otherwise the old ones will be too old to find any buyers. Who will buy 7-8 months old cars. This is not the practice adopted by car manufacturers. The old models are used as commercial vehicles in most of the cases, but definitely not transferred to customers with just making cosmetic changes.

@rightnow : dont you think we highline owners are at a great loss as they have decreased prices and given a hell lot of things in new model. i mean they have given steering mounted controls and the still give 5.84 ex showroom. very unfair vw

Trimming the Prices of Highline variants comes at a time when VW is facing the heat in the market with nos have been shrinking month on month and No new launch expected till December 2014,So to keep the customer interested VW brought these changes but having said that if i keep myself in your shoes i would feel cheated as Prices have been reduced and features have been added,Good Luck and Safe Driving.

I think this is a lesson we need to learn that we should not buy a new launch immediately, just wait for a year or so to buy it. By the time, they access the response, they correct any initial niggles, they bring down the prices if required and add more features
