Yes VipinLJ: that is my car. And yes do post a pic as i am also planning to go for blackened roof, and may be later for alloys. [clap]
Yes I will when I see that car again. It looks so beautiful it's insane. [:D]

Congracts for the Highline bud!
Hey ferrarifan. It's a Comfortline, not the Highline. The highline was Rs. 1.5 lakhs more expensive which for alloys, airbags and abs didn't seem worth it.

But honestly, after getting used to the gear shifts on the Polo, in my Getz, it seems like all I have to do is touch the gear lever and it shifts to the next gear. It feels so unbelievably light and smooth. [:D] Even my friend who has a Fabia said my Getz has amazing gear shift quality, though the steering is dead.

Great write up VipinLJ. The Comfortline variant is the most VFM after the revised prices and with the added features which it comes with. You've got a great deal there.

Even if the build quality is a notch lower than the previous gen VW/Skoda cars, its still the best in its segment. To be honest i have 3 cars in my garage, the other two were a tad expensive than the Polo , but the build quality inside out is far far better in the VW when compared to the other two.

Wishing you lots of smiles and miles with the Polo. Keep us updated with the car's performance. Drive safe.[drive]

Congrats Vipin on your Polo.Polo looks hot in White Color.But,1.2 TDI is a big culprit.VW could have bought 1.6 GTD Diesel instead of 1.2 TDI.And,nice move by VW on feature updates.

BTW,Did you own Getz Diesel or Petrol?

Hey GM
I have a Getz too and honestly, i think the build quality of Hyundais is pretty good. But Yes. The Polo is a well-built car. I only wish the build quality was as good as it was in the previous gen cars. Like i said. I'm just nit-picking.

Hey Music_Swift
It does look good in white. And yes. As you said, the biggest culprit is it's 3-pot engine. If only it had an extra cylinder even if the total engine capacity was the same. Or atleast better sound-deadening. The 1.6 TDi isn't all that refined either. It is noisy and feels ancient when compared to the refined Multijet and Hyundai diesels but it all pales when you sit in the driver's seat and floor that throttle.
And I have a Getz 1.1. Petrol. But even the diesel one i drove had good gearshift quality

Congratulations Vipin for a wonderful car.

Is it true that new CL is coming with fog lamps, wiper and defogger ? What all things are there in new polo ?
Thanks shailinder
Yes. The new CL has loads of features which make it VFM now. It has electric adjust mirrors, foglamps, rear wiper, defogger, MID that was only present in the highline earlier, a basic music system with 4 speakers which is still better than other oem systems, 185/70 r15 tires and a new plastic wheel cap design.

The experience has been pretty good so far bar one problem which happened 5 days after we got the car about which i totally forgot. I'd read a lot about the handbrake getting jammed in lots of Polos before we even considered buying the car.
My girl and her dad had gone to pick her brother up from the airport at around 3am. On the way back home, the handbrake on warning light in the dashboard lit up and the car started making a beeping noise (the noise to remind the driver that the handbrake is on). Her dad tried engaging and releasing the handbrake a couple of times to no effect. He then managed to get the car home somehow. Next day morning, he called the road side assistanece and they promptly came (it was a Sunday) and picked the car up. They dint know what the problem was. So they put the car on a flatbed truck and took it to the workshop. On Monday, they checked the car but couldn't come up with a diagnosis. They treated the symptom and that was all they could do. Seems this is the first time they had such a case at the workshop. I couldn't go and talk to them because I had classes to attend. The problem hasn't recurred since. I also don't use the handbrake while washing the car because I read that water can cause the rear drums to lock up and jam. Has anyone else faced the same problem?

God! My car gets washed everyday with hand brake on! It's parked on a slight slope so hand brake is essential.

Hey. No worries man. It doesn't happen to every Polo. Mebbe i was one of those unlucky people. Anyway. I'd read it in another car forum (which forum? I'm sure almost everyone knows) that this has happened to quite a number of people. Even I have a decent slope in front of my house where I park and wash the car. When I wash it, I put the car in 1st gear and use bricks behind the tyres to keep the car in place. I'm not willing to take a chance again.

Pictures of Prince, Princess' brother [:D]. No ownership review on him because he is 4 years old.

The last pic shows how he has been for the past 3 weeks. Washed, waxed and covered up to protect him from the dust, grime and occasional rains.

Sorry about the mess in the garage and around my house. Renovation going on. I hope you guys understand.

Thank you vijetshetty. Yes. I love the Polo. Gotta sort out some minor squeeks coming from the door panels and the car will be perfect (I do wish the engine was quiet. It's a bit too loud for anyone's liking but I guess nothing can be done about that). Good highway performance for Kerala roads and good mileage to boot too.

Now if only I could find some nice alloys. The 100-PCD 5-hole configuration is limiting choices like no other.
