where is cosmic honda ? Do they have enough back logs ? whats the waiting period if we book with them ?
It is in Kalamassery, Cochin.
Well, petrol prices will increase for sure. What you can do , is to wait till March 16th. Its judgement day (sort of ) . If the govt. hike the diesel taxes, there is no point in going for diesel at 80K more. I hoe you will take a part of the amount as loan. 80K extra will increase your loan interest too . So, one thing is to wait till next week. or go for a diesel now itself. . Dunno regarding i20. Frankly, i don't like it. Only the cars i like from Hyundai are Santro ,i10 .I do like the eon, but hate that 800cc motor. Alto k10, IMO is better. Regarding i20, you can wait for it. A proper TD can only find an answer to this.
Yes, just waiting to know if they have added more features and the quality of interiors. But, this honda person has already blocked a Jazz for me. So, i guess, now i should not think back.

Oh goddammit ! Seems we may drop the jazz and go for a diesel. Already all our relatives and friends are asking to go for diesel car. A hike by 4-5 rs will only make the conditions worse.

Features... It already has almost every feature except electric folding mirrors. Dont worry. If you want to cancel jazz, just tell him the reason to be hike in petrol prices. I'm sure he will get another buyer.

Hi Akhil,
What is the reason for petrol mill as you will get a diesel mill for 7l (jazz price). The new generation diesel's didnt need minimum running hrs and at any day the diesel will give you more mileage.
again 5 rs hike . God the bicycle i bought will run more than my petrol mill (so 6 pack guaranteed )

An i20 Crdi will be also a good buy if you want a Diesel Hatch.
Nope. I dont like i20.Better to go for polo rather than i20.

No such reason. We do only 600-700kms a month and a 250kms long journey every 3 months. So, decided it to be a petrol and chose Jazz( but still on wait). Further, there isn't a single diesel hatch that fits well. It should have abs, even though airbag isn't a compulsory. Swift zdi now costs around 7.4L on-road here and waiting is 8+months . Dad says there is no point in spending 60K more for swift diesel . Polo diesel is around 8L and Punto 90hp , as i inquired this week is about 8.01L . If we have to move to diesel , it is Punto 90hp .But, heard various reviews that it doesnt feel like a 90bhp car and there is noticeable turbolag and the low material quality and poor fit and finish of interiors. Added to this is the bad Tata's A.S.S.... Whats your suggestion on this ? Yet to take a TD of Punto .

Then again, spending over 1.2L for diesel doesn't makes sense. This is our dilemma.

Akhil, But a diesel hatchback, would not let you think about whether i should go with Bike/ Scooty? anyday.

So, Maybe diesel is a good choice.

No, Fiat's ASS is improved a lot. Maybe you can get the Punto.
Maybe tou can compromise on Some features (That come with Top end variant) and get the Mid variant on any diesel car.

If you still have the feeling to go for a Petrol car(The price will soon complete century! :lol!:), then stick to it.
Get a PETROL one.
Cheers.

Hi Akhil,
I think for a city driving punto 75 bhp is more than enough. Only when you reach high ways i.e in a speed range of 120 - 140 km/hr only you feel that 90hp due to linear power delivery. But by diesel you will get high torque and better mileage. I think you will any way keep car for another 5 years. So better be diesel.
From the profile i know you were a student for all these years, and your personal driving will be very less. But now i think you will drive more so the estimation of avg. kms from past history will not be accurate. For my car ( for 15 days i will be in mumbai and 15 days in Tvm) the odo reads 2300 km within 3 months of purchase

Money i shed for petrol : (2300./ 15 )*70 = 10,734;

If it will be diesel : (2300./ 18 )*45 = 5750;

Look from 3 months itself the difference is 5000 INR.
Worst Case scenario : Petrol Price = Diesel price, still diesel will give more mileage.

Please have a test drive and decide and as we don't buy car for racing , i think 75 bhp is more than enough. I don't think in Trivandrum we will have a chance to drive the car in 100+ range. May be in stretch near International Airport
Go for diesel mill and please check the price of Dynamic variant of punto . It will not give you heart attacks on filling the fuel otherwise our car will stay in porch . I went for Petrol as my wife will get 90ls of petrol as perk every month

Yes, but I dont want to go for the old i20, when the facelift is already out.

Jazz select costs 6.4L on road. It comes with all the features, including safety features.
i20 diesel Magna - A diesel car with power windows, Music system and Auto AC, 6.9L on road.
i20 sports - Magna + Alloys + Driver Airbag. 7.40L on road.
i20 Asta - Has all features, 7.8L on road. Way out of my budget.
The maximum i can go for is sportz, huge price and no safety features. [cry]

Nope. I dont like i20.Better to go for polo rather than i20.
I TD'd the Polo Tdi. Being a 3 cylinder engine, it takes time to gain the speed, and the Floor hump is too big and rear sit cannot be accomodated by 3.
Swift - Waiting period, Rear seats not spacious.
Punto- Somehow I dont like the feel of this car(especially interiors). Its VFM, but ASS and resale is an issue.
i20 is the one that satisfied me the most among these, but facelifted version is not launched in india yet.

No such reason. We do only 600-700kms a month and a 250kms long journey every 3 months
Almost same kind of run for me too. Dont really need a deisel, but as the petrol price is going up, it becomes an issue.

I like petrols more than diesels, but the increasing petrol prices just ruins everything. As i told you, we don't mind going for mid-variant , but if only it has abs. That is not available in these hatches. Only top-end features abs .

You're right. i only have less experience in driving cars. Its going to be used by my dad , primarily. We wont ever cross 140kph , i assure. Opted 90hp because many said the other 75hp motor isnt good and even Swift outperforms the punto .So, thought to stick to flagship -90hp.We will be keeping this car for 5-7years.We will do a TD next week and then i will post my comments.

From an ASS point of view, i heard some positive reviews about Mohandas Motors . I dont know any thing about Kulathinkal. But overall ASS is average
Is Kulathunkal still dealing Fiat's ? Because when i searched for dealers last week on fiat website, only one was Mohandas.

Hi
From now on wards you will use the car more. Hey you are on the way to be an experienced driver, so sure you will find reasons to go for long drives. I love long distance rides but the price give me night mares (again 5 rs hike for petrol but they never hike diesel price due to bad election results in UP and other states ).

Yep. Love driving a lot and wants to go for long journeys. As you said, these hiked petrol prices makes Mom say that we can go via a Train, that too in A.C. comfortably, without any tension and save a few hours too.[anger]

Yep. We both are in the same scenario now. [:D]
