Today cops were checking speed limit under Marthahalli bypass. Has anyone crossed it from ISRO towards Belandur?
What an idea to check speed limit in an underpass which is is clogged 90% of time
Month end. Revenue generation tricks, else they will not get salary on time. [lol]

Instead of checking speed at underpass,

- Go stand at junctions and catch hold of No-entry U-turn drivers & riders, jumping red lights
- Catch hold of pedestrians who dissect the rad wherever and everywhere
- Slap hefty fine on Volvo buses who play disco on the road, changing tracks, stopping in the middle of road and what not!!!
- Chalk out a plan with BBMP to make at least all signals pot-hole free, provide uniform width for major roads, proper street lighting throughout the city.
- Make it strict and mandatory for HMV (lorry, cranes, JCB etc) not to ply during peak hours

Provide a bottle-neck free traffic movement in city and then fill your pockets. Daily commuters are sick & tired of this inefficient and corrupt officials from head to toe of every department. [rules]

Moreover, there are hardly any roads in city where one could actually push the pedal to max. [frustration]

Give me that I will mop up 1 crore revenue in 1 day only.
[lol] Absolutely true! As far as signal jumps are concerned today evening experienced a new level at Jayanagar(near Ashoka Pillar). My signal had turned green & easily 5 sec later(had another car in front) i was crossing junction, only to notice something coming headon into me. It was a lady on a two wheeler with no lights(8:30 pm) & cursing me as she narrowly missed me.
I pity her husband & kids.[roll]

Here is an incident happened to me today. I was driving towards Millers Road from ITPL. After Indiranagar on a traffic light when turning orange, I slowed down and stopped. A two wheeler who was behind me banged on my bumper. I came out and checked, nothing major. I returned to my vehicle politely after checking if the biker is alright.
Two wheelers have become a mess these days, they don't care about anything, the situation now has become like i want to abuse these bikers such that they will learn how to behave in the road properly. They will try to do some antics to get near the zebra crossing.

When I was waiting in the signal, a decent guy in Innova who was in my right hand side knocked my passenger window. I rolled down the window and he started blaming for slow down.
Should have told him that if he was ready to pay your fine if you had crossed the signal, you had no problems crossing, he won't come again to talk.

I was driving around 30 KMPH and the traffic light turned amber, I stopped slowly. What did I do wrong? And if somebody hits from back, it is their fault. The guy from Innova advised me to look back and drive. How can I do that especially when traffic light is turning to amber. If someone who drives rash behind me, to avoid him being hit do I need to break traffic rules?
It is his his duty to stop when he watches your car's tail lamps and brake lamps which is provided by company for effective stopping, he needs to be educated.

Also at these times, if you haven't switched on your air-con and driving with windows down, raise your hand for a stop signal which will avoid situations like these henceforth.

I really feel sad that most of drivers here doesn't know the rules to be followed. You can also share your experience in Bangalore traffic here.
Main problem is there's no uniformity in driving, these youngsters drive like rules are meant to be broken and perhaps to impress their girlfriends. Cabbies, ruthless fools always rushing, cutting into lines and the BAAP of all them being BMTC's who care about nothing in the world, stop wherever they want, drive wherever they want and what not.

PS: I have been hit four times including this in my car. Thrice in Bangalore and once in Chennai and all incidents happened near Traffic signal.
Most Disgusting part.[frustration]

I just noticed this morning that 4 new speed breakers have appeared suddenly on the stretch of the service road from Garvepalya signal to Bommanahalli signal, bringing the total no. of speed breakers on that 1 kms stretch to 5. Can you beat that?

I think the mantra is to have as many potholes as possible and if the road does not have any, create speed breakers. Maybe a new initiative to discourage private vehicles on the road...

From silk board signal to Bommanahalli also they have made few speed breakers. Most of the vehicles are coming thru service road as they had to wait once or twice in bommanahalli signal. The way some guys drive in service road are scary. narrow road with vehicle coming from both sides.

I think few of them are necessary on the stretch for those who drive irresponsibly. I feel scared to ride on two wheeler in that service road ! I saw them making the speed-breakers yesterday afternoon.

Reckless driving of few forced Traffic police to implement the worst solution !

They should immediately stop heavy vehicles (specially office and BMTC buses) in the service roads.

Also I do not understand why they allow trucks to ply between 7 - 11 am and 5 - 9 pm in all the major IT office areas. That should be immediately banned including construction trucks.

Hello ... BTP , are you listening?

Film Shooting Scene

Venue : ISRO road leading to ORR @ 8:30 am, cloudy sky

The script: [only the director, actors & early crowd knows]

A tall guy (hero types, dressed in casuals, driving i10), with better half, and and average height guy (dressed in t-shirt & pants driving a cab), both cars stopped at a curve, with cabbie in overtaking from right situation. Traffic piling up with onlookers keen / helplessly looking at the mockery.

TG is pushed by AG in front of better half and then TG gives back to AG, juggling him while the later tries to punch and kick him, back and forth. TG pushes AG from footpath, AG tumbles onto road, gets up and continues fighting. [Crowd doing the talks, asking both to stop and clear the traffic]. The better half cries for help asking to STOP the fight. Now, the crowd tries to separate them. Now AG all furious, uses all @###$%^% and actions, TG still standing with driver side door open, eyeing AG full on, better half trying to pull him inside and drive off.

AG threatens TG with dire consequences and that he wouldnt be spared, in ful public view, runs to his cab, picks his phone and clicks the number, while TG drives off.

Director says CUT! Good shot. End of it.

Conclusion:

- a typical road rage, provocative situation [cry]

- young blood's boiling up quickly (short temperament) [anger]

- educated or not, all behave in same way [frustration]

- crowds love to see, and not act. Very few are courageous enough to try easing the situation.

- total failure of administration in imparting proper education on how to deal with fellow human beings, and other living creatures in an around you

Where is this world leading to? Why get into a fight? That too just when the day starts? What do you gain out of all this?

I don't have really any respect for those cab driver. They are the spices which should be Extinct from the human race for the benefit of the other road user, like in ancient time Dinosaurs were Extinct.
Cab/auto driver always think they are the boss of the road.

I haven't seen or encountered even once in Mumbai, the maximum city, the Financial Capital of India, such kind of public transport drivers / attendants.

Yes, there maybe, especially in the outskirts of the city, but very few, compared to the number that we see day in-day out in IT Capital of India.

Never ever had to bargain with auto / taxi in Mumbai, nor get into or seen such kind of road rage situation. They take you from point A to point B on the easiest routes. It was always a warm feeling wherever you travel in Mumbai city.

I salute the people of Mumbai from the bottom of my heart. [cheers][thumbsup][thumbswink]
