I am facing the above said thing almost everyday!. Another similar situation is, there will be wide vehicles coming from opposite blocking his line and half of yours, a biker keep trying to overtake you at any cost through the nonexistent left [anger]. I don't know why most of the bikers on road love to overtake from the left!.
I always handle it my way. If an on coming vehicle is blocking your lane either you should slow down and let him go or you can alert them by flashing headlights and honking. And at that time you should drive blocking your lane ( right side of your lane) don't give them space on your right side and this way you can spare some space on your left for situations like if That moron doesn't get out of your way, you will be able to handle it safely. You can't drive defensive always, sometimes you need to drive aggressively to deal with some idiots.

If someone make some space on his left as you said some biker who is keen to overtake somehow will pass through the left [lol]. But i understand your point. Some people are least bothered about what other people in vehicles will do or about their safety!.

don't worry you will use that left space only in emergency. and if that situation happens biker will learn his lesson the hard way and that will be due to his fault not yours. It is always better to don't let the impatient fellow follow your vehicle. if you want to be safe , slow down and let that following creature with burning ass overtake and go away.

... A truck is parked on the one side of the road, and some stupid ladies(4 of them) were walking on the balance place of the road blocking my way ... No response from any of the ladies. Again honked continuously for almost 20 seconds, these thick skin ladies started to slowly to move ... When I drove the ORVM has hit the hand on the last lady ... I hope these ladies understood how to behave on roads ...
Gandhi, generally speaking, these types TRY to show-off their pedigree, by being oblivious to others. I'm EXCLUDING the aged from this generalisation. Even school children KNOW how to use the road correctly. Educated or not, male or female, their show-off is more in / near their locality. This behaviour vanishes completely in unfamiliar territory, like STREET DOGS. I've observed something related to financial condition and this pattern. If I put those in words, it might stir controversy, so I'll keep quite. And, G .. A .. N .. D .. H .. IEEE, there is a serious typo.

... I saw a TVS Scooty pep with 3 adults ... I always wonder ... how come they design the 2 wheeler to carry 3 Hyderabad peoples ...
Hmmm, could it be due to the fact that people from Hyderabad are slimmer ?

You are absolutely right saroya. I like this attitude. But against Autos or even slightly bigger vehicles I've a different strategy (IF situation permits and IF I'm in THE mood). I STOP the car WELL in ADVANCE smack on the left lane of the rod ... Errr... road, get out and pretend to be just receiving a call on mobile. If the offending driver tries to open his mouth, I pop my fingers, signal him to come out with my finger, as I continue my tele-talk. If he tries to move the vehicle away I move with it, beaconing the driver to come down. When I ask the driver to "drive to the Station" (whatever he understands by Station [;)]) he's ready to go to one bathroom. Soon someone advices the driver to apologise while I make a call (to my own desk at office). At this point, I allow the driver to go after a warning (how come they fall for this ? ). This may be the 7th or 8th time I've done it. I did it yesterday while driving from Trichy to Namakkal. May be whole day yesterday THE bus driver didn't repeat that type of rash driving, or may be its going to be this entire week. Once none stepped out of an Innova full of people with an aged man from 2nd row profoundly apologising. The essentials for this to work : (1) day time, (2) a bit of population around, (3) a properly buttoned up light coloured full sleeve shirt, (4) the minimum words you speak and (5) you NEED a break for 5-10 minutes. If NOT, best is to follow what YOU'VE written in the quote below:

... It is always better to don't let the impatient fellow follow your vehicle. if you want to be safe , slow down and let that following creature with burning ass overtake and go away.
I like THIS attitude BETTER [clap]. THIS is applicable 99.9% times to both peeche wala and aage wala.

Our roads are dominated by SUVs,seen many of them overtaking recklessly, tailgating for a while and again acelerating closely to other vehicle.High above other vehicle make them feel powerful and dominating.Very ridiculous[frustration],some find their SUVs dynamically sound, corner them as they want endangering their own and others lives.

Those crazy reckless drivers are those people who always want to show off their dominance on roads, and powerful SUV's add fuel to the fire.[evil]

Yesterday i was driving on Pune-Mumbai bypass road which has two lanes. The right lane were blocked by 3 heavy duty trailers carrying some "big structure" on them and moving at speed of 20KMpH. When i saw it i given left indicator and merged into left lane... to my surprise the left lane was full of six seaters moving slow than those trailer and stopping within every 500 meters.

I again given right indicator and preferred to stay behind those trailers up to Chandani Chowk [:)]

I need to confess that I have done some of those you have mentioned above. @ moderators: Pls do not mistake me, but I am trying to sensitize an ignored aspect.

I have observed law abiding citizens doing "legal speed limit" smack in the middle of road that is available to ALL road users; NONE can overtake them. If they stick on to right of the right lane, faster vehicles will NOT be disturbed 99% times. They do not look in the RVM and don't want to hear the sound of horn. I would say someone with a genuine need to go someplace faster is held back unnecessarily by these less sensitive BUT 100% law abiding drivers. See GrandRK's post at # 443. If the trucks drove on "right of right lane" and 6-seaters drove on "left of left lane" he could have found space to move away. Why should anyone hold back a person unrelated to their problem (slow vehicle / in no mood to drive fast / in no hurry etc). I may be more than 100% CORRECT on the road, but by moving away two feet to my RIGHT if I am creating space for someone to overtake me, why should I not move away ? Are baba, the faster guy may be rushing to the nearest Rest Room [frustration].

Don't you think we get irritated even on pavements when s.l..o...w moving window shoppers block our progress in busy shopping areas ? I was told in a Management Class "Problems arise due to HURT EGO". If I can ensure that I am NOT hurting other car driver's Ego, my chances of safe and comfortable journey increase a lot.

PS: I am not trying to justify RASH Driving. I've written one way to handle rash drivers in post # 440.

Buddies,

This is something pretty evident specifically in U.P and parts of some other state too i.e even after Supreme court's ruling to ban dark tints on car windows still some people bother least about it. That's totally uncool![anger]

Doesn't really make a difference here down in Maharashtra. They don't turn on their lamps anyways.
Rightly said Shrid, I had a near-miss incident, where the biker was crossing the road through the gap of broken dividers on the highway with no lights on. He was wearing some dark cloths and everything about the bike was black (not even shining chrome wheel spokes, but black alloys). It was a sharp right turn and I had to brake real hard not to hit him. He gave me a "Why are you driving so careless" look as if I did something wrong![evil]. There is no way to be safe in such conditions other than driving slow.

I agree with you Lameassonwheels.
At late night once i came across a cyclist who was MIB (Men In Black with black cloths, black cycle in dark night) and was riding his cycle on right side on my lane. I given a short honk to him and what a surprise.. he started pedaling his cycle faster without changing the lane. I left no option other than overtaking him from his left side.[anger]
