Update!!
Its been an year with the zest. covered almost 25Kkm.
No major updates. Just added a pair of 18W Cree LED high beam assist.
Xenon+ LED assists(6000k) are awesome. but it blinds the oncoming traffic.

15K Service:

Since it was covered in Gold AMC AMC, I need not pay anything for the service*.
1)Oil filter and Oil was changed. TASS using Petronas Syntium 5000 5w30, fully synthetic . Zest diesel takes around 3.5L. this particular oil is cheaper than the one used for Skoda (Castrol Magnatec Fully synthetic )
2)Airfilter, AC Cabin filter and Wiper blades were changed.
3)Brakes were cleaned using wurth brake cleaners and handbrakes were adjusted.
4)Both Wiper blades were replaced.
5)Wheel balancing and Alignments were done.
6)Car was returned on the same day after a neat wash!
7)suspension bushes/link rods at front was making some noise every time I get on a hump. Links/bushes were lubricated.
*They also added engine oil additive and they charged 250rs.

Car looks very understated and sinister! Where did you buy those 18w LEDs and which brand? Also which brand of xenon's have you fitted in the projector?

Nice updates saishi,
Your lamps are very well upgraded. Why have you tinted DRLs as yellow?
The cree Lamps are very well integrated in bumper. Hardly visible. Are you using High beam trigger for them?

Thanks bhvm.

tinted the DRLS just to differentiate from other zests [:D]

Cree lamps have separate switch controls taken directly from the fuse box using a fuse tap

The car looks awesome with these added features. The last pic is stunning!!![clap]

Sai, I have XT Diesel Sky grey. I have completed 20000 km and my 3rd service is due by May 2017. I am thinking of changing the engine oil locally next week. I see that you have mentioned that the service center used Petronas Syntium 5000 5w30, fully synthetic.

My question is : Can I go with Shell Helix Ultra 5w 40 Fully Synthetic .

Is the capacity 4L in zest?

I would like to add the body kits. Is it possible to purchase them with the same color(sky grey) other than getting them painted?

After having the body kits fitted is it affecting the ground clearance?

If you know any dealer having them in Coimbatore please share the details. I am from Palakkad and is closeby.

Regarding Engine oil, its better to use company specified ones. change it in service center

body kits will be available in primer finish and then that has to be painted to match your car colour. it should be available with SRT Tata at Nava India , CBE

Thank you for your inputs.

I understand it is better to go with the company specified ones but I have been using shell in my bike and dads dzire and is very smooth. I can even feel the difference in the engine noise and smoothness.
Please check the below links...

All suggest shell 5w 40 for zest Diesel .

Will check further on this and will proceed.

Hi saishibu,

Very Nice Thread.

I am also very proud owner of TATA Zest XM. I have 2 questions.

1.) Do you know from where i can get the LED door sills. I can only find non-LED door sills but i think there are no LED door sills available for tata zest.

2.) Which Tyre's do you think is best for hilly or bad roads?

I did not find LED Sills anywhere so got non LED ones

About tyres, I feel bridgestone B290 are better.

Small Update:

45K Service done!

  1. Replaced AMT clutch Kit
  2. Changed Front brake Pads
  3. Lower Ball joint replaced on both sides
  4. Stock tyres Replaced with Same stock size Bridgestone B290

Service cost was around 900rs as most of the items are covered in Gold AMC.
After the clutch replacement, shifts are very smooth.

Hi Sai,

I have read all the 131 pages in your nano ownership thread. It is really very helpful and an inspiration for people entering/interested in the car modding community. That is one hot looking Zest you've got! Kindly keep posting regular updates, it is fun to track your modifications :)

Regards,
Kapil
