No, no waxing and polishing. I have heard that polishing decreases the paint layer each time you polish so it goes right out of the window. As for waxing, I am too lazy a creature to wax the entire car! As of now, I use only Jopasu Duster to clean dirt whenever I take him out and if the car is very dirty(which is rarely a case - mostly the Jopasu does the job for me as my car rarely even dirty enough to require a proper wash) I just simply wash the car with water and have thought to follow up with RAW Xtreme.
That is compound which is required when your car has swirls and frequently use of it will indeed decrease the paint layer because its like sanding.

Polishing is making the paint shine and its only necessary to do every six months.

In market, there is full of confusion between polish and compound. Meguiars, Mothers and other major car detailing product brands never confuses.

If you go with less experience car detailing products, you will endup with buying compound mentioned as polish or polish mentioned as wax and high aggressive compound which deep cuts paint.

Wax is to applied every month or twice a month depending upon product durability.

Of course one needs plenty of time. For me to wax whole car, it takes 4 hours and with polish, another 2 hours [;)]

Thanks a lot for explaining the uses of polish and wax. Swirl marks have more chance of appearing in darker shades, I think. My car is a white, thanks to my family!! And waxing requires so much of time! Even just using RAW on my matiz and city takes approximately 1 hour and the entire cool morning. If ever I wax it, I think I will go with Collinite 845 because I have seen many people recommending it and using it. The downside is that it is quite xpensive. Apart from that, I will have to again ask a question here and maybe once again someone like you will direct me to another brand! [:)]

You're are always welcome. [:)]

Yes Collinite products are recommended everywhere and expensive also but then preparation is very important. One product is not enough. Clay->Compound->Clay->Polish->Wax->Sealant and many others come in middle if you are serious about car detailing.

Of course you have white car so don't need to worry about expensive detailing. I suggest you Meguiars White Wax. It costs around 1500 but has cleaners (polish) as well as wax so you don't need multiple products. It comes with applicator pad too but you'll need more pads. i.e from here or from Aliexpress if you want one pad for Rs. 10!

My car colour is Polished Metallic and it really needs detailing. At present I using Mothers Pure Polish and recently Meguiars Black Wax. Before I was using Mothers Synthetic Wax but it leaves some white dots of wax after washing the car few times, so moved to different product. I don't have DA polisher yet otherwise it saved my time and energy.

Man, you seem to be a pro!!! :D Well, I am a novice when it comes to car detailing. Probably, one of the reasons why everyone was against a black car even though I insisted on regularly cleaning and washing and waxing it. I would have just wasted my time before understanding even 'D' in detailing!! [lol] Will think about buying Meguiars hiWte Wax(waxing is too tiresome!!), a big thanks for giving the links as well. I have bookmarked all the links. You definitely spend quite a lot on time on your car!

Btw, RAW Xtreme did lighten up the pink-V mark on the bonnet caused by the ribbons.

Congrats Rollerdude on your new car. City is a comfartable car for 5 people. And that Vtec. [clap]

Honda has moved the fuel tank to back. So no more issues of scrapping. It's a right decision in going with City. No troubles regarding service centre. Plus the rear seat is the best in this segment. Verna's rear bench is low and the window line is high, so one feels bit claustrophobic. And city handles better than verna.

Have you got Anti-Rust treatment done on your City? If not, get it done.

I'm using following products for both my cars:

1. waxpol premium wax with UV guard
2. waxpol dashboard and leather seat polish
3. Pidilite Motomax dashboard spray with scent
4. Amway car shampoo
5. 3M microfiber cloth
6. Motomax polish
7. Hand mitt

once in 10 days, I wash my car by two-bucket method.

Ah no bro, not a pro. I have just learnt and still learning and passing the best to all who are novice so that they don't make mistakes. [:)]

Yes, get ready to see the history of your car! [:D]

Thanks for good advice.

Yes Rollerdude, Do this treatment as soon as possible if you really want it. Doing it later won't be perfect and waste of money.

If you don't wish to, check this post of mine.

I had gone for Anti-rust underbody coating during the first service. I was against it knowing that it is nothing more than a gimmick but my father who had taken the car for servicing got it done. I don't remember the exact cost but I think it was something about 7000 INR. There is no 3M here, neither in Kanpur , Lucknow or Allahabad. The nearest is Noida which is quite far. I had wished to go for 3M Anti-rust treatment and PPF but no 3M for me!!

The low ground clearance was a big issue for us during the decision process and that is why we were looking for a SUV or any sedan with good clearance. The City's GC is even less than my Matiz's! But no problem passing over speedbreakers. So far, haven't scrapped him a single time on any speedbreaker but scraped three times on very bad roads.

Coudn't get the anti-rust treatment from 3M but got underbody-coating during the first service. No 3M where I live, not even in the nearby cities!

No doubt you spend a lot of time detailing the car. A reason why your car looks absolutely majestic in that shade in the pics! [clap]

Btw, can you tell me how do I delete a post made by me. Actually, in the above post, I had first quoted one post and then posted it. After that I quoted another post and then posted it. Then I recalled that I shold not make back to back posts so I just copied the content of second post and pasted it in the first one using edit but could not figure out how to delete the second post and so erased its content and typed this question in that post instead!

Thanks a lot AshBabu. Yup, White looks really fantastic on the new City, big thanks to my family members who insisted on white.
Yes, will post some interior pictures today or may be tomorrow. Did not buy any accessory. My crusader is a V and so comes loaded with pretty much everything. Yes, bought Honda Carpet mats from the dealer during delivery. I use Jopasu Duster and PROKLEAR RAW Xtreme Rinseless/Waterless Wash concentrate to keep the Crusader clean! [:)]

I mean if your car had deep scratches or any below surface stains and those will be filled by dust like glaze so RAW or any aggressive cleaner will remove the dust and those scratches will become visible. Its what happened to my car. but scratches will unnoticed because of clean and shining car. [:)]

Oh, thats bad. Coating is made in Honda service center right? then isn't it by 3M?

Do you have mud flaps? Usually in my car, it used to scrape so I removed it and installed rubber mud flaps.

Indeed. White colour 4th gen Honda City looks wonderful, like a luxury and expensive car.

On 3rd gen Honda City, dark colours look great.

ohhh got it! Your being a dark metallic shade makes it more visible! Can we have some pics of your ride as well?

Yes, the coating was made in Honda Service Center but my father was saying that they were having collaboration with 3M and the coating was of 3M but I doubt their efficiency in doing such a coating. A 3 year warranty has also been given and during each service they will touch-up the coating in case it has reduced anywhere.

Yes, white looks premium in the 4th gen. The fat chrome grill at the front doesn't look too gaudy in white and goes well the shade. In fact, contrary to others, I like the chrome mustache of the new city in any colour.
Yes, darker shades look good on the 3rd Gen City especially the front. IMO, Honda City(all the gens) is a car that looks great in any shade, such is its design!! [glasses]

Nice, how much did you buy it for? I had bought from snapdeal for Rs.620. Use Jopasu when the car is dry whenever you take her out with light or medium hand. It picks up dust effortlessly. You can even hold the individual strands and rub it against chrome parts wioth some force to get rid of water marks or minor scratches! But never bring it in contact with water like cleaning the car when it is wet or using it to dry it.

I have not made ownership review about my car, just because its a 2nd hand and I feel not to. But I have uploaded the pictures in inventory. Check here.

Nope, only editing is possible.

Listed for Rs. 538, I had Rs. 107 payback redemption so total Rs. 431.

Awesome. Cannot wait for it.

Your car looks great, you have maintained it very well. Doesn't matter if it's 2nd hand, what matters is your love for it![:)]

You got it pretty cheap. I was too impatient to find a coupon and ended paying the full amount! [frustration]

Well the duster is made up of lots of individual micro-fiber strands. I just meant that instead of holding the duster form the handle, you can hold some strands with one hand and the handle with the other and use them to clean the chrome parts like chrome handles. You will understand when you get it delivered, nothing special, you can do it with a simple MF cloth as well.

Actually none of coupons worked for it otherwise I would have saved little more. Payback discount is from previous purchases.

Yep, I will once I get the product. [:)]
