RagMax, congratulations on your scorpio. Looks fantastic in this black shade.Wish you many happy miles with it.
Thanks vijay amd wish you the same

Congratulations bro. Drive Safe.
Hi Rahul, thankyou for the wishes.

I have a question. Has the service interval changed in the new Scorpio? Is it now every 10,000 km?

My owner manual says every 5000 km irrespective of time. Mine was bought in Feb 2011. I will ask my SA and SM about this. Can you also please ask?

Since my usage is high, I promptly give at every 5000 km.
Yes, I guess the previous mhawks had a service interval of 5,000 kms while the new generation mhawks has to be serviced every 10,000 kms after the initial 5,000kms. But what is interesting is that we are supposed to get all of our free services done within the 1st year itself. Need to check with them. Was this the case even when you bought your car?

White Turkish seats looks great in Scorpio. They are easy to maintain and more body friendly do give it a try.
Sorry bro, but I was not able to make out what kind of seat covers you are referring to. Can you elaborate and if possible can you send me a pic.

Guys, small update after reaching 500 kms. Yes I have driven only 500 kms till now all in city driving only because of my work schedule. BTW the clutch and gear are certainly hard but are becoming a bit smoother as I use more. I am getting a mileage of 10.4kmpl the last time when I checked. So far not faced any issues till now. Fingers crossed and enjoying my black hawk every bit. Owing to my work pressure may not be able to go on a New year vacation this time. [anger] So need to wait for some more time before I could take Black Hawk on a long drive. Thinking of getting some chrome accessories for the handles and the mirrors, but not sure whether I should go for the OEM one or from outside shop. Will post a detailed review soon along with some pictures.

@KonkanTrip, i know this kind of seat cover. I think the car in which my father worked as driver (My father was driver to Madurai Corporation Mayor for long time till his retirement in 2001) had this type I think.

But wont this attract dust easily?

Got a call from Mahindra today. It was a service reminder call. They informed me that I am supposed to get my car serviced within 5,000kms or between 3 to 4 months. This was confirmed when I logged onto the my account in With you hamesha application. It shows next service due date in March 2014.

I would suggest you not to cross 90 kph, till you complete the first service.

As when the engine oil is changed, gear oil and other stuffs is changed.

You can do above 100 kph.

Allow the brake pads to settle, no sudden braking.

Guys need to know whether I can use Micro Hybrid feature during the running in period. Some of my friends are saying that I shouldn't as it will put additional strain on the starter motor.

If your are driving with closed windows and AC on I dont think there will be much problem and these are washable covers ( the best advantage ) so they can be easily removed and washed at home.

There is no mention like that in Owner's Manual. I was using it during run in period.

Once the Start-Stop functionality did not work and it was found that a loose connection was the problem. After it was rectified, there have been no issues at all with that feature for the past 3 years.

I believe it has helped conserve fuel in city traffic conditions where you need to wait for a minute or more.

Thanks for your advice mukesh. Will keep in mind all the points you have mentioned. BTW which service centre are you taking your car o currently. Since you have been to pretty much every service centres, which do you think will be the best for me to take my car for first service. I want to stick to a particular service centre as it would help the mechanic's job easier as they will know the history of my car. Kindly do give me some contact details so that I can get in touch with them when the time for the service arises.

I did use the micro hybrid for a couple of days in heavy traffic situations last week and even I too felt that it was very useful. Everything worked fine and I guess I will start using this more often from now. Still have not been able to use the cruise control though[frustration]. Am too much caught up with my work so unable to take my Black Hawk outside Bangalore at all.

thank you mukesh. I have seen this service centre. This is on the opposite lane to Anant cars on mysore road, right? I know this sounds silly, but if I take my car there for my first service and continue with the same one for some more time will it affect my warranty in any way. Currently completed 1 month of my ownership. Nothing much to write about till now. Everything seems to be working just fine. Not been able to actually use my Black Hawk too much owing to my work [frustration]. Looking to somehow find some time to take it out of an well deserved run outside the city for my car. Looking to get some chrome covers for the handles and the mirrors and also the scuff plates. As of now not finding enough time to research on this, so guys I would be grateful if anybody suggests some good accessories shop here to get these things from. Just asked in Reliance autozone, but they do not have these in stock and I need to order for them to get these.

Sorry for a prolonged absence guys, but was caught up with some personal as well as professional commitments. Because of the above mentioned reasons, my Black Hawk was hardly taken out. So nothing much to update as of now. Yes I still have to take some detailed photoes of the car as promised earlier which I will do pretty soon. Sorry for that guys. For now the image below gives you an idea as to what the black hawk was doing in the last few days, standing idle. [sleep]

Hi,
Got my first service done from Chrome Motors last week as per Mukesh's advice. Am satisfied with the job done. Planning for a short drive out of city next week and hopefully the plan will materialize. Also ordered the complete set of dusters from Jopasu. Waiting for them. Have heard good reviews about these and will post a feedback on it after using. Still not been able to use my hawk on a regular basis so nothing to add as of now. Will get back soon with more.
