Guys, need help on the service interval for the scorpio in terms of months. the manual does not say anything regarding this and only says that the first service is to be done at 5,000 kms. The dealer also does not have much knowledge about this as they themselves do not agree with each other's point on this. One of them actually told me that I need to get all the free services to be carried out before the completion of the first year. Was quite amazed [surprise] to hear this and so consequently has written an email to the customer care. But would like to get a suggestion form our fellow Scorpio gurus.
Actually the new policy I am told starting this year 2013 is that the free services are to be done at 5000, 15000 & 25000 kms & no restriction on time elapsed from the date of delivery only condition is all three free services to be done in one year. So say someone completes 5000kms only after five or six months his first service can be done then, no problems! This is true at least for XUV, Scorpio & Bolero as far as I know. Even my 2013 Bolero service manual has only kms for service intervals & nothing about number of months. (2nd & 3rd service mileage in kms I will check the manual again but its something like what I mentioned above )

If you mentioned your number in the email to customer care you will get a call from the area service manager of M&M who will tell you the same thing.

Warranty is also one year & unlimited kms. I guess they are challenging us drive as much as we can & test its limits.[:)] Not sure how the warranty was worded before.

Precisely, this is what the SA informed me. I will again confirm this with the area service manager. But the warranty is for 2 years and not 1 year. I have not opted for extended warranty as yet. Scorpio owners of earlier models can help us regarding how the warranty was before 2013.

Guys, Just to update. Washed the Black Hawk today and waxed it using Formula 1 carnauba wax. Took me close to 3 hours to wash it then wax alongwith washing my Swift. Uploading the photoes after the wax.

Need to know what is the cause for the rust on the disc brakes in the front wheels. Uploading an image below. How can I get rid of this rust. Had seen this happening on the disc brakes of XUV also. Is this normal?

Regarding service intervals, first service of mine was done in the fourth month after purchase.

That is when the gear oil and Engine oil was changed in my car.

Back then even I was told that all the free services has to be done in a year.

And I had got it done in a year.

Then you have the liberty of getting the vehicle serviced at your own time intervals.

Hey Ragmax I spotted you today around 06:50 pm, with full seats occupied.
Near Karthik Nethralaya.

You just passed me.
Was that you mukesh, my god, I passed you and wasn't even able to make out that it was you. Sorry buddy, actually even I thought that it could be you and as soon as I passed the junction, I checked the rear view mirror but unfortunately at the same instance, my sister interrupted me by asking something. I am so sorry again. I am embarrassed so much. Actually the reason I slowed at the junction was to let you pass me so that I could make sure it was you, but being a gentleman that you are gave me the way and allowed me to pass. I just reached my home and all the while I was thinking the moment I reach my home, I will get it cleared whether it was you or not. And no not all the seats were occupied, only 5 were [lol]. First it was me who spotted you last month and now it is you who has returned the favour. The day is not far when we both meet each other.

Free service should be utilised in a year?
What if we have less running for the vehicle..
What's your average monthly running?

BTW from where did you get that sticker on rear windshield done? Yesterday did see same design n font on a xuv in kolhapur. Live young, live free.

But the warranty is for 2 years and not 1 year. I have not opted for extended warranty as yet.
I should have been clear the one year warranty with unlimited kms is for Bolero. I have option to buy three more years extended warranty for 12K which I am planning to buy. Extended warranty does not cover lot of wear & tear parts like clutch etc.

Nice photos & congrats again wish you many safe miles!

Get all the services done on a regular basis and get your free services in the first year as mukesh said earlier.

I would still advice you to get the two year extended warranty .[:)]

Yes even I am not sure how I am going to achieve this [surprise] as my monthly average running is around 1,000 kms as I am using my swift more often due to heavy traffic. No the sticker comes with all new scorpio and xuv. It seems that all scorpio and xuv manufactured after October 2013 will have this sticker. But I guess you can still download it and get it printed in a sticker shop.

Yeah even I thought so that it was for Bolero. Does the extended warranty for Scorpio cover regular wear and tear parts like the clutch[confused]. If this is the case then there is no point in opting for the extended warranty.

Get all the services done on a regular basis and get your free services in the first year as mukesh said earlier.

With the kind of running that I am doing as of now, I don't think I will be able to get all the free services done in the first year itself. Need to check this issue with the customer care.

Sorry for uploading the snaps so late. Please upload yours so that we can verify. Check the images below. I have uploaded both, free coupons and also the maintenance chart for your reference. There is absolutely no mention of any time period in any of these but the dealer is saying we need to get these free services done within the first year.

Guys, need some advice on a good set of seat cover shops in Bangalore. Also if possible please let me know of some good options in terms of brands and fitments.

I have a question. Has the service interval changed in the new Scorpio? Is it now every 10,000 km?

My owner manual says every 5000 km irrespective of time. Mine was bought in Feb 2011. I will ask my SA and SM about this. Can you also please ask?

Since my usage is high, I promptly give at every 5000 km.

White Turkish seats looks great in Scorpio. They are easy to maintain and more body friendly do give it a try.
