The powerloss issue is different from turbo lag. Its like while you are cruising confortably, suddenly engine stops responding to throttle inputs for few seconds and seems engine is turned off.

I am also facing another thing, don't know if its an issue or not. Its like when I do a cold start, engine sounds coarse and makes knocking kind of tuck-tuck sounds. The temperature guage shows only one level even after 30 sec of idling.
After driving for about 4-5 kms, temperature guage climbs up to 3 levels and then there is no or negligible sound from the engine. Is this same with other revotron users also?

I have Tata ZEST XMS petrol, me too facing same issue.
I was facing this issue after crossing 8500 Km. one day I was travelling to visit my friend,, the DTE indicator shows 70Km while running I felt there is NO Power by pressing accelerator in 2nd gear.. I thought DTE shows wrong value and Fuel may be empty.I stopped the car and removed the key to make sure engine is off. I waited some time and again try to start, its started and going another 5km and filled tank fully after sometime again I felt power loss in engine..and felt something wrong on engine however I reached home and parked car.. the next morning I started the car and seeing display its shows engine failure indicator..but car was moving after some distance again I felt power loss. I parked car in road side the engine was off automatically...not started again. I called TATA emergency breakdown department and arranged road assistance from my nearest service center.. the service representative came after one hour and brought Fuel pump along with them...they opened car fuel pump and told me its failed.. they fitted spare fuel pump and took the vehicle to service center.
After 5 days they fitted new fuel pump and delivered my car to me also they have done some diagnoses for software upgrade.. now car is running smoothly but yesterday I noticed while on the highway suddenly I felt power loss from engine on 5th gear and suddenly I got some blink in console I changed the gear to 4th again the engine is normal. I suspect some issue is there in TATA zest petrol. can anyone tell me what is the issue?

A lot of zest petrol owners are facing this issue. However, no one has a final cause or solution to the problem.
I hope TATA listens and provides us with a fix to this issue.
It becomes real dangerous when you are trying to overtake and suddenly power is lost in the vehicle.
I faced this problem when I was climbing a flyover. It felt as if the car will roll back[frustration]

I noticed power loss happening below 1500 RPM.
Really its very very dangerous while climbing/overtaking. If power there is a power loss, We will lose confidence and things will be mess. TATA has to look into the issue.. otherwise TATA will lose little brand name..

Hey all. Need one help.
I actually booked my car on 12th of this month. The dealer said that it was dispatched on the 17th and it would arrive by 23rd. He also instructed me to prepare draft accordingly. When time came, I was ready with the draft. But the car hadn't yet arrived. They said that there was some delay although they couldn't give a satisfactory answer.

Well I may be wrong but I felt that they wanted to take the money before the car arrives. That is impossible as I won't do tha5 before physically inspecting the car.
Till now the car hasn't arrived and the dealer is unable to give me a satisfactory answer.

Couple of questions to you all.
1. What should I do?
2. The dealer says that we pay the draft and sign the reg papers. Then they will send the car for reg. But I want the delivey before that as soon as I make the payment. I can take the car to the rto when needed. Is that possible?

My experiencewith the dealer has been buttery smooth from the start. Only these hiccuos in the last few days. [frustration]

Do not pay before checking your car. Pay only after being satisfied completely. A little delay doesn't hurt than having niggles later.

I handed them the draft at the time of delivery only. Before that I had paid 10k as booking amount. The experience with the dealer was good before I made the payment but after paying it was not so good. However, a bad feedback in TATA 's feedback calls took care of it.

You did the right thing, not to pay.
1. Ask for the VIN, if the car is allotted to you. You can check when it was manufactured as well as check the seriousness of the dealer. Double check the same when the car arrives at the dealership.
2. Would suggest to pay only after you inspect / TD the vehicle. No payment earlier. Dealers are obligated to do the registration process. Usually, they just send the pencil-scrapped-copy of your Engine/Chasis No & get it registered. Physical car is not usually driven to the RTO.

Thanks to both of you. Today evening they said that the car has arrived. Will be inspecting on Tuesday and take delivery on next Saturday![:D]

Yesterday (30/5), TATA Motors gave free tickets to 'MGM Dizzie world'- a family theme park for 2 adults and 2 kids. Though nothing additional was conducted but the ticket included all games free and cool drinks at the entrance. These initiatives are good and brings more positive brand image for TATA. They also promoted their new venture - Tiago.
It was great to see so many Zest on the road and there were many. Below photo will speak of itself
