Re: Tata Zest XM (Revotron) Ownership Review

I am really convinced and charged to book Zest. But budget doesnt permit to go beyond XM. I have to take a call between XE and XM.

The only pressing issue right now is proper reviews on FE. There are no reviews where the owner has used the car for even 2000KM. I am not happy with figures around 10. If the FE figures are not good, I will move to Xcent.
I was also in same dillema sometimes back. But, I am glad that I chose Zest over Xcent. Zest has scored above Xcent in every aspect till now.

If FE is the only concern, my below post can help you decide.

Dear PAWANJI,

I really seek your comments on the Zest RT. Till now you may have done more than 2500 kms on your car. It will be very helpful if you can please share your kind comments to few of my quarries.

1) The mileage of the car in city and highway limits. Although mail2gsyadav had reported superb figures (best of luck to you) but wincythomas reported only 10 kmpl. You may have covered more distance than both of them. So it will be of immense help if you can share your mileage. Anything less than 12 in city limits is a deal breaker for me. I am going to book the car tomorrow. So I have to decide today. Please help Pawanji.

2) Your may have finished the first service of your car also. If yes, then please share your feedback on the after sales service of Tata Zest.

3) Any other issues if you have noticed anything (Hope no issues).

Hello friends,

i am a newly joined member on your team.

Happy to be with you all.

Friends currently i have TATA NANO LX.

I am going to buy TATA ZEST XT on DEC ie NEXT MONTH.

All the valuable comments of yours gives me a clear picture about that car. Thanks.

let me clear one thing.

I saw additional air vents on the bonnet on some cars. I wish to add the same for my TATA ZEST. Can you tell me the advantage /disadvantage of adding such features and things to keep in mind during installation (the correct place, oriention like this) in TATA ZEST XT? .

Welcome to TAI ji.
Do you mean air inlet scoops on the bonnet?[surprise]
I never saw a Zest with it! I have seen quite many Zests on roads of Coimbatore, but none had it.

Thanks for your welcome note Dj bro,

I didn't mean that I have seen that on ZEST cars.

I saw those inlet scoops on Scorpio.

So how is the case for Zest?

I doubt it would look good on a sedan or not. Zest is better if you don't alter anything.
Also I would not suggest you to tamper with the bonnet structure for safety aspect.

The fix for my Mud inside the bonnet issue has reached the dealer's service center. I just have to go and get it installed now.
Please let me know if anyone of you have got the reverse camera and noodle mats for the ZEST.

Wonderful [clap]! But that is mostly highway mileage.

Guys,
What kind of FE are you getting. I am looking to replace Figo Petrol and I am keen on Zest Petrol. FE is the main criteria. Then other things follow. Waiting period quoted by the dealer for XMS, XT variants is 1-1.5 months. That's ok as i can wait, which variant is VFM in Zest ?

If FE is the main criteria my below post can help you decide.

XMS is most VFM varient for Zest. However, you'll be missing the fantastic experience of HK touchscreen system. It has the sound quality which will only be available in D segment cars.

Apart from that you'll be missing rear defogger, reverse parking sensor, Daytime Running LEDs, outstanding sound quality and premiumness of Harman touchscreen Infotainment System (with voice commands, sms readout and so on), FATC, perimetric alarm system, angel eye corrona ring, boot lamp etc.

I think it's worth going for XT if budget allows.

Budget is not a problem, infact I am looking at Zest as well as the more expensive Elite i20 also.
Surprised that XMS doesn't get Rear Defogger & Parking Sensors. Anyway thanks for quick reply.
