Re: Tata Indica Vista Quadrajet90 Launched @ Rs.6.03 Lakh

Another review of Vista D90 by Destination Infinity:Tata Vista D90 ZX Car Review – Sedan Class with a Touch of Luxury! | Destination Infinity

Some exceprts from the review:

The car does have good pick-up and acceleration. The 90 PS Quadrajet engine is quite powerful and its power was evident when we took it to the highways. We were able to reach 0-60 KMPH in 7.6 seconds and 0-100 KMPH in 16.7 seconds. We were able to touch 130 KMPH with all windows open. We were able to reach a maximum speed of 140 KMPH, on the Tambaram-Puzhal (Chennai) toll by-pass flyover. These photos were taken there.

The multimedia features of this car is very good – There are audio controls right on the steering wheel, there is bluetooth for connecting the car audio system with cell phones (up to 5) and one can use the car audio system to make/receive calls. There is a special electronic display that shows time, mileage, temperature, number of KM’s to refill, etc. They have brought back the speedometer directly in front of the steering (just below the front glass) and that makes it easier (and safer) to monitor vital parameters.
For safety, they have included airbag and ABS (Anti-Breaking System), which help during accidents and negotiating sharp turns on slippery roads, respectively. It seems they also have rear de-mister which removes mist, and intelligent wiper that functions automatically during rains, for the rear glass. Of course, we were not able to test these features. This car also comes with an NVH dampener that minimizes the noise, vibrations and harshness in the car.

The car has good ground-clearance, helpful on bumpy Indian roads/speed-breakers. The front glass is bigger, making it easier to see the signal lights. Since the engine and gear-box are from the same OEM (Fiat), gear-shift is better. The car is slightly longer than small cars and hence the turning radius/parking space required is also slightly higher. The Tata Vista D90 ZX diesel sedan-class luxury car is heavier, and hence its road-grip is good.

Dont you think 0-100 in 16.7s for hatch is bit more? Even Storme does it in bit over 15 secs. Well I have doubt on the fiugures here. 0-60 in 7.6 seconds and then from 60-100 took them more 9 seconds. [surprise].

Even I too have a same doubt.

I don't think Vista will take 16sec to reach 100.

Still I too not checked its seconds in my Vista. Will do that very soon.

Correction, the Storme does it in a shade under 15 seconds. To be precise 0-100 in 14.9 seconds according to Autocar.

As far as Vista D90 doing 0-100 in 16.7 seconds is concerned, well this review is not done by any auto expert,so timing figures may not be very correct.Lets wait for Autocar or Overdrive to review the D90,then we shall know the exact figures.[:)]

Again waiting for the unreliable overdrive review[frustration]
I think 14.9sec will be the right time as the power output is up by 15 bhp and 16.5sec is for 75 bhp vista.[:)]

Re: Tata Indica Vista Quadrajet90 Launched @ Rs.6.03 Lakh

Quoting from the article which Visran has posted:Tata Motors to officially launch Vista D90 on Jan 28

After nearly a couple of months of waiting, Tata Motors have announced that the official launch of the Tata Vista D90 will take place on January 28, 2013 (Monday).

The launch will be held at the Buddh International Circuit and Mr. Ranjit Yadav, President, Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors will be addressing the conference as well.[clap][clap]

The most significant change lies underneath the hood of the Vista. The 1.3-liter Quadrajet engine now churns out 88bhp (as against 75bhp of the normal Vista) and this comes as a benefit of the Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT). The torque has also increased from 190Nm to 200Nm.

Inside, the instrument cluster no longer takes center stage and now tucks behind the steering wheel. This has been attributed to negative customer response. The suspension has been reworked and promises better handling.

From the outside, the Tata Vista D90 will have a black roof, irrespective of the color and a small ’90′ badge at the rear of the car will differentiate it from its less powerful sibling.

The Tata Vista D90 will be available in two variants – VX and ZX. The VX is priced at INR 6.03 lakhs and gets ABS and EBD. The ZX variant at INR 6.63 lakhs gets airbags and alloy wheels as well (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
Wow,the launch will take place at India's first Formular One track.Nice way to create an impression IMO.[clap]

Re: Tata Indica Vista Quadrajet90 Launched @ Rs.6.03 Lakh

Saw the top end Zx yesterday as got jammed into cycle marathon we had on our streets, and right next to newly opened tata showroom, parked my i10 aside and went in to see which variant they have and luckily they were just cleaning up the top end for visitors display. As Xover said, It looks superb inside with touch screen GPS,multimedia infotainment, ACC,rear spoilers and everything.Just my thought was tyres were punny for this variant, atleast they should have given 15" for top end and a more classy alloys then the same gen old anniversary addition ones.
I really hope mods do cover this event and a classic TAI review coming up soon.
