re: Tata Vista QJD Ownership Review: Brand New Sedan Class (1,25,000 Kms & 4.6 Years)
Hey Appu, have been going through this thread since long & must say you have really maintained your car in top shape. I too own a 2010 Zen Estilo dusky brown colour, its also a used car, and had run around 40K when I purchased it from Mahindra First choice, back in May 2013 for 2.10 L. It had a few issues with the body, the boot had a dent, probably a result of negligence while backing up by the previous owner and a few small dings here & there but nothing substantial. The car has served me well till now, will post a few pics soon. Now, I bought the car out of sheer need for one, had got married in June 2012 & owned a CBZ-X 2010 model, I stay in Kolkata & dad was in Dhanbad since he was working over there, so, used to make weekend trips to him with wife, also, for shopping around bike is not advisable for obvious reasons, further we were blessed with a baby boy in August 2015, so this decision made even more sense.
My dad bought a TATA Vista in June 2012, and after his retirement, the car was at one of our uncle's house, since dad doesn't drive anymore due to his health it was decided that I would either send my (Zen Estilo) car to my brother in Bangalore or will sell it & will continue to keep the Vista. I visited my uncle's house in Ranchi last month to bring the car to Kolkata and was shocked to see the sorry state that our car was in
. It had been abused pretty badly I was literally fuming inside, but kept calm, no point in arguing about what had already happened. Anyways, while driving back to Kolkata I observed that the car was pulling towards left pretty significantly I immediately understood that this is due to improper alignment & also there was a rumble when the engine was started & turned off. Made a stop at Hazaribagh where we have made our house and got the alignment done at Ceat Shoppe outlet, things improved but the steering still pulled a little towards left, also the rumble was due to the underbelly guard rubbing with engine, got that sorted by a local mechanic. Talked to a dealer of our my company who has an Indica & a TATA Safari at Asansol on the issue & he immediately asked me to come down to Asansol at BD Motors, so I did, met Mr. Vishwakarma over there who is the service manager at BD Motors, must say, he is very humble, extremely friendly & knowledgeable he knew exactly what the problems were after the car was inspected & test driven. Following works were done:-
1. Engine oil replacement along with engine oil filter,
2. Air filter element was replaced,
3. Thorough inspection of Brakes, Clutch etc,
4. Wheel alignment (This corrected the pulling issue)
Apart from the above, it was decided that the whole car needs a complete re-spray, owing to the fact that it had lot of scratches & small dents all over due to the abuse thrown at it. The car is now re-painted attached are pictures of the same. Would hopefully bring the car to Kolkata sometime in next week, internal cleaning is still to be done along with some parts i.e. the seat belt warning buzzer replacement, right side front wheel shroud (mine was missing, exposing the pulleys etc.) By the looks of it in the photographs the paining looks good, will post more when I visit to take the delivery sometime during next week. The total hole in the pocket was 38K for denting & painting plus 8K for Mechanical work for parts & labour during the mechanical service.
Looking forward to your comments and since this is my 1st post, apologies in advance for my mistakes wherever observed, will try to improve with your valuable suggestions.
Cheers!!!
