Wow Appu you are munching miles on your vista like crazy . And on top of that the way you have maintained the car , it looks as if you just bought it yesterday .

We hope to see 1 lakh miles soon it seems .

Dear Raja, can you give me or rather us some insight on better TATA car dealers based in Mumbai whom we can trust from buying to servicing.

^^For buying the Prabhadevi Show room is really excellent. I don't think Raja will be able to comment on the service part as he doesn't own any TATA vehicle at the moment. For this check with our other storme owners from Mumbai

I too installed a beige one at a accessory shop for my Duster and found it quite useful. I think it will serve me best for my longdrives.

2 Major Updates on Whity


Update 1. Completed the 40K service at 42.5K kms.

Service details:

I left Whity for service on Friday(Nov 8th) at My TVS. Because My TVS is the only service center for TATA currently. Before going for the service I called few known persons there and informed about my arrival. Once I reached there I checked for the known person who worked in TASS. I found him & informed the status about Whity.

Complaints I had mentioned:
1. Recently I found some tik tik noise from some door on worst roads. Hardly audible, So I asked to check all the doors.
2. Asked to fix the front bumper properly(I removed it while installing LED parking bulbs. While fixing it back, I missed one screw. So asked them to fix it)
3. Asked to check & clean all 4 breaks.

I left the car at 10am and I received a call from MY TVS around 5pm saying that my car was ready and went to water wash. I went to my TVS around 5:30pm.

SE told that, they addressed on all the complaints and completed the service. I checked the car and done a test ride and found everything was well, so took the delivery at 6:30pm.

Total Bill amount: Rs. 6,954

Next day(Nov 9th Saturday), I planned to install alloys & tyres at Chennai. So asked Ajay(Biker boy) to help me to buy those items & informed him about my arrival to Chennai from Vellore.

Update 2: Alloys & Tyres

On Saturday(Nov 9). I went to Chennai from Vellore to install Alloys and tyre.

Our TAI member Ajay(Bikerboy) suggested a shop at GP road. I directly went there and met a person Mr.Yogesh(referred by Ajay).

first we discussed about the tyre upsize. But he suggested me to go for R14 itself for Vista. Because Vista having soft suspension. If we go for R15, it will affect the suspension and ride quality of Vista. As, I doesn't want to compromise the ride quality on Vista I proceed to go choose the 14" alloys.

Choosing Alloys:
Actually I wanted black color alloys. Because I thought to keep the top(roof) and Bottom(Wheels) in Black color. So I chosen some 8 patterns. then tyre shop guy removed all the wheels on Whity and fixed the alloys on Whity. after some 40Mins of tough confusion, I finalized the alloys. Our TAI friends helped me a lot to choose the alloys. I shared all the pics of alloys with them in Watsapp and finally made the decision.

Choosing Tyres:

After choosing Alloys, Tyre shop guy shown 175/185/195 tyres and he suggested 185/65 profile for Vista to maintain the same ride quality. Even I too thought just 10mm form the stock size won't do much difference. So decided to go 185/65.

coming to tyres. he shown BS, Pirelli, Good year, Continental and Michelin.

BS: I had a worst experience with BS. so rejected it.
Pirelli : Pirelli had a very thin side wall. For my usage, it won't withstand. So rejected.
Good year : My stock tyre was Goodyear & I'm satisfied with it except the Road noise. Shortlisted
Continental : Continental is new to me & heard good review from Ajay. Shortlisted
Michelin : soft rubbers. For my usage, it won't withstand. So rejected.

Now Continental or Good year ?

As I already used Good year, I thought of trying Continental this time. So chosen Continental CEC3.

Quoted for both Alloy & Tyre, after bargaining I paid 34K which including balancing & Alignment.

From the stock tyre, kept one tyre for Spare.

Done some 150 Km Night drive to Vellore from Chennai. I really impressed with Handling, breaking & tyre noise(Very very low tyre noise). But, felt some dumpiness on patches & holes. Need to check the tyre pressure.

I think you overdid the stock tyres. They should have been changed earlier by seeing the condition.

Please provide the break up for 34K.

Whity with those black Alloys is simply awesome. \m/ Let me know how the Continental CEC3 is holding up on bad TN rural roads.

Also can you put up the details of the tyre shop?
