All these stories, are well stories, mainly from people who have never driven a Nano, this engineering marvel is a beauty to own.
Some points :
1. A boon in city traffic, I jut in and like a 2 wheeler.
2. Commanding view of the road.
3. Chiller A/c.
4. AMT with creep, manual mode and sports mode, (one can't ask for the moon for ~3L.
5. The MID has more info than 5+L value cars.
6. Seats 4+1 very comfortably.
7. In this 6 months of use, paid for fuel only. AMC Gold takes care of everything, brakes, clutch plates down to wiper.
8. Boot space just for some shopping bags.

Hi Vinod,
Thanks for your feedback as well as that of Dr. Rishab. It comes as a sense of relief and also great satisfaction that this (as you aptly put it!) 'engineering marvel' has admirers in our ranks. The few blokes I have met here in Lucknow (& in our complex in Mumbai) were not very complimentary in their assessment.
Speaking purely as an engineer, the design (small, rear-engined, RWD urban runabout) speaks to the deeps in me! - it reminds me of my boyhood in Allahabad when the Renault Dauphin, Fiat 500/600 & the Beetle were often spotted by us fledgling car buffs, as we cycled our way to school!
I have been keeping my fingers crossed that TM do not scrap the model, but develop it adequately & stop marketing it as the poor man's 4-wheeler.
Longevity & durability (not abuse-friendliness, mind you!) is inherent in the layout - as testified by the number of air-cooled, RWD Beetles still on the roads!
The current FWD, water-cooled example (of the Beetle) is an abomination & a sacrilege to the original's memory, created by the extraordinary Dr. Ferdinand Porsche. With sincere apologies to the owners.
PS - Mods, I know this is way OT & if you feel so, do edit the post as you think fit.
