Hmm, So they started giving claustrophobic rear cabin like newer hyundai's. Rear window line is too high. I wish the cabin be more airy. Exteriors are nice though.

Its a genuine relief that TM decided not to categorise this pleasant looking hatch-back by calling it a "compact SUV". A faux pas committed by M&M with their peculiar oddity the KUV, which has recieved some truly original (tho' perhaps well deserved!) invective.

I for one liked the line. It looks good from outside. It isn't too claustrophobic as it might seem and it gives a sense of privacy too without being too open.

Amazing...The car looks outstanding, literally. A first-in-segement design. Happy with the black interior. Hope this makes to production spec. Rear seat may be claustrophobic. Will need to look in person to make a judgement. Awaiting for the full list of features and the price. My best wishes.

As an aside, frustrating the host calls it as ti-gor and not tee-gor. But he calls Tiago as tee-ago. Car magazines should first get the pronounciation right before the covering the car itself.

No doubt, this duo from a recently resuscitated TM deserves full kudos & it is deeply satisfying that the mfr finally seems to be getting its act together. It felt frustrating, not to say disappointing that M&M seemed to be walking away with all the limelight while TM seemed to be stuck with a range of dull & uninspired designs. So it is heartening to see TM make a real effort to get to centre-stage - it was high time!

But please, let us not get carried away with all the hyperbole & OTT appreciation! They are nice-looking no doubt, but nothing path-breaking that I can see. Not that there's really too much one can do with the parameters already set for the segment - the standard inverted jelly-mould with each mfr fighting to provide the maximum number of flourishes (creases, grooves & swage lines) without crossing that fine line between ugly duckling (the KUV100!) and riveting looks (the Kwid). In fact, the Kwid, being a size smaller than these two, seems to have really caught the imagination of the buying public, and to have pushed the envelope the most!

Now all one needs to do is wait for the launch & pray that this duo sets the box-office ringing.

Got to agree with you.

Design-wise, as you said, there is only so much a manufacturer can do, especially when it comes to sub-10 lakhs cars. But what manufacturers can do, is to do something different, something fresh. That's what Tata has done with Tigor. Designed it as a coupe rather than a sedan, a first in segment. Besides Tata already have Zest in the CS segment. So they had to differentiate Tigor from Zest. This is exactly what differentiates kwid from the other A segment cars. While others were boring hatchback design, kwid was a miniature duster. KUV was too quirky for majorities tastes.

It is always a gamble when you are a late arrival, especially with Tata rebuilding it's portfolio. There needs to be something that differentiates yours from the rest. So that way got to give credit to Tata. Here's looking forward to 22 March launch. Hope Tata price it similar to Tiago.
