While the Tiago is doing well, it is not really eating into the sales of the segment leaders. I wonder where the Tigor sales will come from. To me the indica based platform is small-i have a Vista and the Tiago is small inside for space in comparison. The Tigor then is a small notchback-smaller than the Dzire, AMaze, Xcent or even the Aspire. Will it eat into the Tiago sales/ Indigo CS sales then??
Pricing again will be key
Can't be smaller than Dzire. Dzire is much smaller than Tiago from inside. I have Tiago and had Dzire as well. My office cabs are Dzire and have been brushing legs on the dashboard with someone sitting back. Don't feel that in Tiago. Amaze is also slightly smaller than Tiago not bigger. Xcent is slightly bigger.

wont argue with your experience with swift, but dimensions (exterior i agree) suggest a difference
Even exterior wise there would not be much of a difference in dzire and Tigor although Dzire is from an upper segment however wheelbase is what will make a difference (to be seen) . And am sure interior will score better in Tigor, things will be clear by tomorrow's media report.

Agree that wheelbase and dimensions give a hint but the design of elements like dashboard, shape of car matters. Also what matters is how much the front and rear overhang is.

I too feel so and hope that the shortcomings that have been highlighted recently in regards to the new models of TATA about the fit and finishing are duly addressed in this one.

I think the interiors remains same to Tiago except rear seats and cabin changes, rest will get to know tomorrow, but am quite positive about this new baby by Tata. Hope it will get required nos which Tata Motors is in need.

One thing is am curious about is whether we will see new bumper design from geneva show to differentiate it from Tiago or not?

Same here. But I just want to analyse upon the ingredient that is required to change the brand's perception among people. After TIGOR, Xcent Facelift and later on Essentia are in line so TIGOR has to be exceptional in more than one aspects. Dzire is like Swift stretched, Amaze is like Brio stretched, Aspire is Figo stretched, AMEO is Polo stretched, Zest was BOLT stretched so to beat the typical compact sedan looks, Tata has a good opportunity to present a good product again. Not to forget, from Media drives until the launch later this month, TATA will improve upon the shortfalls too if any.

Surely Tigor will not be eating into Dzire's figures just because Dzire is from Maruti and an average Indian's buffalo mentality (Read Herd). However, Tigor will surely eat into Aspire pie and possibly into Zest, strictly on the supposedly VFM proposition of Tigor. However it may not into Tiago sales because of price. Tiago is basically a B1 hatch and Tigor is in CS segment and B1 customers are budget conscious. So Tigor may not appeal much to them, when they already have Tiago. However, if Tata can improve their showroom and After-sales experience, I do not see any reason why they cannot eat into Aspire or Xcent sales. I would stick out my neck and say Ameo may not be much affected, because Ameo sales are basically Vento sales, effectively meaning it is sold for out and out VW fanboys. The same goes for Toyota Etios. Etios is to Toyota fanboys as to what Ameo is for the VW fanboys. I, for one, am looking forward to the 29th of March. Best of luck to Tata.
