Since its a render, I do wish that the original product is not a stretched Zica with a added boot because then TATA would again hit their leg on the axe. Just like the fate of BOLT and Zest, I don't wish Zica and Sway to see the same fate. Zica is a classy product so Sway too should be a classier offering.

Re: Tata Kite Compact Sedan (Indigo eCS Replacement)

TATA trying to differenciate two revotron engines by using new engine branding

TATA's 3cylinder 1200cc engine badged as Revotron110(ZICA petrol engine) 4cylinder 1200cc engine badged as Revotron140(ZEST turbo petrol engine)

Will the engine have different tuning like zest/bolt or same as that of zica?
as per now power train option is similar to TATA ZICA powered by 3cylinder 1.2L Revotron110 and 1.05L Revotorq maybe we can hope that if market demands TATA may give 4cylinder 1.3L Quadrajet75 engine

I don't think its a notchback. It is a compact sedan. I can clearly see the boot door demarcation grooves at the rear where it lifts in the pics posted earlier here.

Why rendering when there is an actual outline of the profile available?

Just went back on this thread and found this image. I am not sure why ACI said it will be a notchback. But this is what i found from the spy image. See the clear demarcation for the boot lid opening groove in the red box marked by me. Clearly points that its a proper compact sedan.

Still think its a notchback?

yes still there are notchback design elements find in it just try to observe upper section of rear glass we find small plastic spoiler like piece is hiding behind the camouflage its quite similar to BWM X1 roof and we can also see the gap betweed rear glass and C-piller.

Boot lid and glass seems like single piece of metal and comming back to those boot lid cuts present to create wide opening boot lid to easy transfer in out luggage.

2016 Auto Expo: Tata Kite 5 compact sedan unveiled

tata-kite-5-expo-zigwheels-m2_720x540.jpg

Tata has finally taken the wraps off the much awaited Kite 5 compact sedan which is based on the Tata Zica hatchback at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo. The new compact sedan will get the same running gear as the hatchback it is based on and will be priced lower than the Tata Zest which already exists in the sub 4-meter range. The new compact sedan will be officially launched with full pricing in a few months.
As far as design is concerned, the Kite 5 gets the new Tata grille up front underlined by a fine strip of chrome just like on the hatchback. The well contoured headlamps and the low stance of the car make the Kite 5 look quite appealing on the whole too. The Kite 5 also gets the sporty front bumper and two fog lamps filling the side vent area well. In profile, just like the Zica hatchback, the wheels fill the wheel arches quite well which make the car look more proportionate than some of the other compact sedans in the market today. At the rear, the Kite 5 sedan is possibly the best looking compact sedan in the market today with its thin and well crafted tail lamps that are truly worth a level of admiration for the design team. The Kite 5 compact sedan also has a well crafted botlid and almost coupe like profile.
As far as interiors go, the Kite 5 shares the same dashboard as the Zica hatchback. We like the centrally mounted infotainment screen which gets the app connect feature and the black finished central console with accent pieces. The Kite 5 compact sedan is quite spacious even though it is quite compact in terms of overall dimensions. Legroom and shoulder space for the passengers at the rear seat is quite good too.
In terms of engines, the Kite 5 gets both a petrol and a diesel engine. The petrol is a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder engine that makes 85PS of peak power at 6000rom and 114Nm of peak torque at 3500rpm. The diesel engine on the other hand will be a 1.0-litre engine that makes 70PS of peak power and 140Nm of peak torque. Both engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox with the possibility of an AMT gearbox soon.
The Kite 5 will not only take on the likes of the Ford Figo Aspire, the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire and the Honda Amaze in terms of sharing a similar size factor but will also form an all new segment by itself when prices are announced later this year

Front looks awesome as exZica, profile of the car looks equally awesome, and rear looks astonishing!!! [clap]

Tata Motors is on a huge roll.

Do you guys still think that it as a notchback? Even after seeing this full rear image and the groove for boot opening?

Few rear shots of Tata Kite 5. Love this rear look. Its awesome.

Amazing Design and as I said earlier it might not be Notchback. But seems like coupe style. Full Marks to Tata[clap]
