Tata Tiago Review & Pictures: Tata's Tiara

Micra is a cute little car perfect for City usage and can be a decent highways performer. Given that you are buying in Chennai, you should have decent ASS coverage. Reliability is guaranteed as Nissan is as good as any other Japs. So go for it if you are happy with what it offers. Ensure you do proper PDI before taking delivery? Were you able to make out the make year?

A small owner's meet up was organized in Chennai last saturday (6-Nov-2016) along with a short drive on the ECR. Here are some pictures shared by them (via WhatsApp group).

Tata increases the production capacity of Tiago to 5000 cars per month up from 3000 car per month. Outstanding backlog of 25000 cars. Already 25K tiagos have been delivered to the customers.

Month 6 (Oct2016) - around 4800 units of Tiago being shipped out.

During AUGUST itself, It was declared that Tata Tiago bookings crossed 40,000 units. Just 25000 units only shipped out till October 2016. If the production continued in same phase, whomsever booked during august have to wait another 3 months...

Seeing the response the of the customers towards the Tiago is very good and I believe they're over-whelmed with the response and currently unable to handle too many bookings and deliveries and it clearly says they weren't prepared to handle the flocking customers at showroom(Had seen delivery happening on a Diwali Sunday).

Anyways good-going, hope they fulfill customer's wish before they change their mind.

My car has arrived the showroom (blue xz p without alloy) and have to complete other formalities.

During PDI I noticed paint peeled off a bit in the inner side of the front passenger door. They said they will properly do the touch up job and will not even notice it. I'm not sure about there promises but since it is inside the door (at the edge) I'm ok if it is handled properly. What should I ask them to do?

Also, for insurance, are addons like engine cover and invoice cover worth?

you can ask them do a patch up before delivery or you can get it done during 1st service. In case you are going to get it done in 1st service please take proper snaps and keep it for your reference or mail to the dealer itself, so that you would have a written proof.

Is the service center just besides the showroom ? If not I am sure they will ask you to go to the service center and get it done yourself. Ask then to do this before you take delivery. I don't think they will have blue paint available readily.

Also there is no need for engine cover ( just make sure if you hit the underbody , there is no oil leakage. If you drive without oil it will be an expensive repair and insurance won't cover it)
Get zero dep cover and consumables cover instead.

After analysing lot of cars booked Brown Tiago XZ (since my wife forced me to book XZ )
Still confused on color as from outside I like Brown more. but the inside of red and orange also looks cool. Piano black also looks decent though. But I feel when the car gets old brighter colors like Orange and Red will make the car look older. Brown will not get that old car feel due to very sober metallic color .

I couldn't drive non-abs models in Tiago but the CSC + ABS + EBD feels terrific to handle in the turnings. One of the best I have ever driven. I appreciate that the safety features they have provided in lower Optional models cost only 15-16K and is terrific VFM.

Brown is the best colour amongst the rest in tiago. Very classy. Congrats on the great car and equallly great color choice. XZ is the best variant. you have all the bells and whistles and all safety features.

Dark colors do get aged more than the brighter colors as well dear brother. Suggest you wax the car regularly to protect the paint.

Price has not hiked in November. Its the showroom's mistake. Here in Bangalore different showrooms have different prices I checked. Many showrooms are not displaying latest price.
