I am new to the forum and I have booked the XZ 1.2 variant Striker Blue color. The car was booked on 17th, Dec 2016 and will be delivered on 26th, Dec 2016. I will be doing the PDI tomorrow at the yard and your thread has immensely helped me to check on specific points in the car.

Some details on my booking,

Make: Tata
Model: Tiago XZ 1.2(Petrol)
Color: Striker Blue
Expected delivery: 26th December, 2016
Dealer: Prerana Motors, Rajajinagar, Bangalore

Ex Showroom: 506,517/-
BTB Insurance: Zero Dep insurance from Royal Sundaram Quoted 13,162/- with VD of 7500/-. Also I will claim a NCB of 25% later from my previous car. So it should be approx 10K for insurance. Dealer quote 20900 without zero dep.
Road Tax & Registration: 79,413/-
Extended warranty till 4th year: 6,428/-
Door Beading: 1250/-

Grand Total: 593,608/- (Excluding Insurance)

Booking amount: 10,000/-

Accessories bought online:
1. 3D Mats - 799/-
2. Body Cover - 550/-
3. Silicon Key cover - 299/-

How you got zero dep quote of 13,162 from RS. After bargaining lot also they didn't reduce from 16068/- (includes road side assistance)
Are you sure its zero dep? Pls check.

No I did not opt for AMC, because paying 9000 doesn't make sense if the running is not more. In my opinion, the first 3 service would not go beyond 6k max and the running on the car will be below 10K by my parents.

On the body cover, I am yet to receive it. Will update on it once I received it. Here is the link to buy the same,

In layman terms, if there is some damage and if it costs less than 7500, then you don't have to claim insurance and lose on NCB. Also you will get discounts while buying insurance and discounts for the next year to due to NCB. Instead you can pay from your pocket and enjoy the discounts. Only if the repair costs are more than 7500, you claim and get the remaining amount from insurer.

Voluntary Deductible:
This is the limit chosen by the policyholder to meet a part of the claim from his own pocket before raising it to the insurer. The amount depends on the policyholder who chooses the limit factoring in his affordability and risk. Choosing a higher amount of Voluntary Deductible causes a lowering in premiums through discounts.

Also what is silicon key cover you have bought? Whats the use?

This is basically a cover for your keyfob which will protect the originality of the key during long run. Also it prevents any damages to the keyfob, in case if it falls. It is similar to the mobile panel cover we put on our mobiles

Just to clarify, the first 7500 bucks of any claim will be borne by us and the rest by insurer as opposed to the mandatory 1500 bucks without VD.
With VD:
Claim Amount = 10000
We Pay = 7500
Insurer Pays = 2500

Without VD:
Claim Amount = 10000
We Pay = 1500 approx
Insurer Pays = 8500

Also what is silicon key cover you have bought? Whats the use?

Did the PDI today and found everything to be in place. One thing I was not happy was the foot well was dirty with too much muck when it has come from the yard. The car was run 33km and the tyres were shod with GoodYear assurance with the manufacturing number as 3716(Sept 1st week, 2016). Also was happy to observe that the gear lever vibration has been completely sorted out. I have informed them to keep it spick and span during delivery.

Now time to wait for the D-day.

Haha you are not alone, I have been teased several times for this in our owners group. I didn't find any other strong key ring in my drawer to cope with Tiago's huge key.

Is this good actually? How's the quality?

It's decent for what I paid for it (Rs 175). We will have to use our nails to press the key release button. And the cover may seem to be loose near that button initially but gets better with time. One thing I was not happy was the foot well was dirty with too much muck when it has come from the yard.

Same with me, there were shoe marks and mud in the carpet floor during PDI. Didn't bother much as it had rained at that time.

Got my tail lamps blackened at a local car decor shop for ₹800. I did not like the separate strip they had use at the top to prevent it from peeling off. Probably they did not expect the sticker's behavior with sharp edges in tail lamp. Overall I would rate them just about average for this mod.

Got my tail lamps blackened

Looks Nice Prabhagar Apart from that patch work which is noticeable when looked closely, it looks brilliant.

Quick Question: I am facing a minor issue in my music system which occurs very rarely, the system restarts itself on the move. Not sure what could be the reason.

Second thing is when the phone is connected via bluetooth and if I get a msg, it displays on the system as a call and the system hangs. After couple of seconds, it restarts. Has anybody faced this issue?
