I own a March made Petrol XZ Tiago, but I don't see that much vibrations on gear lever without AC.

With AC, I observed vibrations but nothing violent.

Also, I see vibrations even in 2015 Innova's gear lever and hence don't understand how it's a big deal for Tiago.

Hi All, This is my first post on TAI, however, I have been following all threads here on Tiago since past 2-3 months. I have booked an Orange Tiago (P) in Jaipur and it was expected to be delivered today. I started following up with the sales executive about 10 days in advance and he confirmed it will be delivered on this day. Last week when I again followed up, I was informed they couldn't place an order to book the car, which is something they do every week. After escalating the matter to the seniors in the dealership, I got a call today from the sales executive and he informed that they will be able to arrange Tiago from a dealership in Alwar. I have checked the chassis number and the car is manufactured in June, 2016. Now, the catch is that the car will be driven back from Alwar to Jaipur instead of loading it in a truck, as obviously they wouldn't be hiring an entire truck for a single car. He has asked to make full payment of the car in order for the dealership in Alwar to dispatch it for Jaipur. Alwar is close to 180 KMs from Jaipur and he assured there will be no issues during transportation to the car itself. He confirmed he will make a refund in case we are not satisfied with the car during inspection. He also stated it is compulsory to get the car insured from the dealership which will cost around 20k as also informed by fellow members here. What do you guys suggest? Shall I accept delivery of a car driven all the way from Alwar to Jaipur? Shall I get my car insured with them or shall I keep insisting on getting it done from outside?

You must inspect the car in person before getting it registered or delivered. 180km is high, but if the Tata guys assure you of not over speeding or abusing the car, you can take it.

Hi,
Take what ever he is saying with a pinch of salt.
Contact Tiago team over facebook message and escalate to them.
Do not release the payments, until you do a initial PDI.
Alternately drop a mail to the customer care of Tata Motors.
RTO would not allow registration if its beyond 100 kms.
I myself got the insurance done and costed me 10,800 for zero depreciation.
Dont accept if its driven for so many kms.

How do you know that they will arrange the car from alwar? What if they want you to accept a car in their yard which already has covered some 180kms ? Don't accept the car and it's not compulsory to take insurance from dealer. Check another dealer or wait. Take any money which they have besides the booking amount. Dont pay full amount before seeing the car. You never know what reason they might come up with if you reject the car.

Thanks DJ bro, mukeshus and allhyundaicars.

They assured the car will be driven safely and that I can reject the car in case I am not satisfied during PDI tomorrow.

I dropped an email to Tata's customer care, which resulted in escalation of this matter. Received a call back from the dealership next morning. They again assured the car will be delivered to my satisfaction or else, I can reject it. RTO of car isn't going to be a concern either.

They are also ready to provide me with the invoice of Alwar's dealership to clear any doubts with regards to car being already present in their stockyard.

Insurance isn't being forced either and am free to get it done from outside.

Check the temp registration & ask them to provide the temp no to you for the verification of date of issue. it will clear the doubt to an extent.

I would say go for it as we(my family) had taken delivery of Maruti1000 around 18years ago the same way and faced no issues as per my knowledge.

Hello, TAI. I ma new to this forum but usually following many posts.

I got my first car in form of Tata Tiago XZ Diesel two months back. Probably it was second Tiago in my city Surat. And one of the initial delivery of Gujarat. I've been following Tiago since November 2015 and kept visit local Tata Dealer during February as it was going to launched on 6th Feb but later due to Zika virus matter went south. But never the less , after waiting period of almost 1.5 month, I got my white Tiago Diesel.

A lot of people warned me before choosing Tata because of old mentality of "Tata ke khataare" . But I've met loyal Tata fans who explained that Tata might be bad at designing things but they are master of "Value for money" products. And also, I got confident about Tata after seeing friend's Zest which he has abused by all means yet Zest is loyally performing.

I will share my ownership review and forgive me if I am biased towards my darling TiaGo.

After using Tiago for two months, I've driven it around 3000 km and experience is the best. I went to Ambaji (Mataji's temple) which is 980 km round trip and I could clock 24 kmpl mileage. It was less because engine was not yet roused properly and I went to 150 kmph on express highway which affected the mileage. currently I am getting almost 19-20 kmpl in city. So mileage wise
It performs very well.

I like the engine rev at low gear. It reminds me a lot of Indica but sound is very sweet. On high gear, engine becomes less noisy with high frequency sound. Since this is my first car, I thought NVH were very high. I used to drive someone else's Honda City petrol which has low NVH because of Sedan model and better insulation and I compared Tiago with it.But after that I saw Swift Diesel, i20 diesel and Amaze diesel which has similar or higher NVH than Tiago.

Interior is highly advanced than earlier Tata. Attention to detail is very good. Seat cushions are good as well as premium quality. Although I don't like floor matte which attracts a lot of dirt.

There is no complain about Harman powered Connect next Sound system. It has all the required features with premium high-quality sound. Bluetooth and USB connectivity is readily available. Call clarity with in built mic is superb. It has reverse parking assistant but I do miss Camera as in Zest.

Build quality is extremely "Patthar cheap". I mean just open the bonnet and you'll realise what Tata has done for safety. Metal is extremely thick as compared to similar cars in same segment. 13 Lac Honda city has weaker sheet metal as compared to Tiago. For a comparison, 1.2L baleno has kerb weight of 785kg and 1.0L Tiago has kerb weight of 1120Kg. This is real Indian car, build quality-wise.

Speed enthusiast might get a little disappointed with 3-cylinder engine's low acceleration I think this is the best car for money when it comes to city+highway usage in equal weightage.

Will add few more details as I get free time.
