Hello all, :) I am new here and this is my first post.

I am a long time fan of Tata Sierra and I came across one a 1999 model. The car has clocked 1.6k kms on odo. I am planning to buy the car. But still worried about the maintenance [confused]. Anyways it will be a all heart no brain decision.

I was also a great fan of Sierra. Dreamed to put in a powerful engine in it. Our Ilango himself had a Sierra, I believe sold.

  • Type: Four-cylinder, in-line, longitudinal location, diesel
  • Displacement: 1948 cc
  • Bore × Stroke: 83 mm × 90 mm (3.3 in × 3.5 in)
  • Cylinders: Four
  • Maximum power: 90 PS (66 kW; 89 hp) @ 4500 rpm
  • Maximum torque: 19 kg·m (190 N·m; 140 lb·ft) @ 2500 rpm
  • Compression ratio: 22:5:1
  • Gears: 5+ 1Reverse

  • Transmission: Manual
Original Sierra was only 68 bhp. Only Sierra Turbo was 90 bhp.

The sierra thread brings back the memory.

Still a day is not passed with its remembrance.
My office laptop wall paper do change but every wallpaper is with Sierra.

That was one comfortable car. A quick engine is a sure at these age of highway. But in narrow state highway roads it is the king[clap]

i understand where you are coming from. same is the case here as well. once you own it, thats it then gradually it owns you. im planning to fit it with new gen scorpio headlight. i inquired in the mahindra showroom and they said they will be happy to provide the headlight for the restomod project of my sierra. and guess the cost of each Headlight assembly, its just 4k per piece isn't it economical. it will arrive tomorrow or Monday as per the showroom people.

@illango(speed thirst) i have gone across every forum for sierra and found you there, be it be your a/c work or the thread you started here in this forum. Thanks for sharing your experiences with novices like me. and yes your signature does speak it all for you[;)]

In my opinion , the stock sierra looks damn best.

THe new scorpio headlamps will be slim and chances are there to stand out of the sharp looks of Sierra.

Think twice. I have modified a customer's sierra with tata Xenon head lamp and it was ok since it had sharp edges and bigger.

hey guys here's the pics had to re-size it so took some time. replaced my old tyres 215/70/R15 to 235/70/R 16 bought used 16" mags from person in Hyderabad Mr.Zahoor who was patient to answer all my questions regarding the alloys. he is gentleman i must say it took us at least 2 months to finalize the deal. but atlast it was done. got my self 4 nos 16" tyres from GOODYEAR WRANGLER those are nice tyres i must say. had almost finalized on Bridge stone Dueller However the warranty on goodyear made me but it. Goodyear provides unconditional warranty for a year on the tyres whereas bridge stone offers warranty against air bubbles in the tyres. let the Pic do the talking. please guys let me know how its looking.
