Re: Tata Safari Storme Review | Test Drive | Pictures

Is it possible to fit a panoramic sunroof on the safari?
I know it is not recommended on monocoque vehicles as the roof is also a stressed element, but in a frame on ladder vehicle like storme, would it be unsafe to have an after market sunroof?
The lx doesn't have a roof A/C unit. I want to know about structural integrity. Will it be safe enough? I'm talking about a large panoramic sun roof.

IMO, it involves cutting the beam and that would invariably hamper the structural rigidity. Too big a risk.

Few questions for the Storme owners. Would really appreciate some honest answers and not all of them need to be coming from the hearts.[:)]
(1) Have you ever regretted the decision of buying a storme ? if yes , was it because of the vehicle or a.s.s?
(2) Would you have listened to your mind now if given a choice and bought something else ?

Re: Tata Safari Storme Review | Test Drive | Pictures

Can someone please sort out the problem of my baby storme :(

My vehicle is 1 yr old and done 17k km ~~

After my recent trip to orissa, when roads are at their worst new issue has cropped up

whenever the engine reaches 1900rpm while accelerating, there is some annoying sound from bonet/ under body , like Grrrrrr............. and it last for 2-3 seconds only, but its irritating, and happens in every gear from 1st-5th :(, The sound comes between 1900-2000rpm only, then vanishes :(

while revving the vehicle at rest, the sound doesn't appear, only while driving it occurs

When given to local TASS, he said its the issue of bull guard installed, which vibrate and causes sound, but i really don't believe him :( , earlier this thing doesn't use to happen :(
Hey this could be due to some loosely held part( i mean may be 2 components touching each other and causing vibration. Might be a loose exhaust as well , check for it Because when you go to low RPM only then the rattling issues crop up otherwise its smooth. Also check for rubber spacers that are on the frame that give cushioning effect to the bonnet may be that's worn out, Its a small issue however causes great discomfort.

As incarnation said, it may be from the bonnet or bull guard. In my esteem also has same issue, i identified it from bonnet. As per mechanic i need to replace the bonnet opening lock set. now i adjusted(loosened 2 rotation) the rubber bush on both side and sound not coming. Only con due to this is bonnet looks like slightly opened.

I think this is the best vehicle I could have afforded in my budget. There are more sensible options in market, like the Ecosport. I do not have first hand experience of driving those vehicles hence cannot compare the leisure.

Will just say one thing, I did a 4 day trip to Kokan during Christmas vacation. 1200 KMs in total. 600 KM one way covered in 14 hrs non stop drive. Just me and my wife, who is 5 month pregnant. No discomfort AT ALL. I trust the vehicle 100%.

Bro, i never had any doubts on the highway capabilities of this vehicle. Just wanted to know the satisfaction level of buyers if they come down to evaluating their decisions using their heads, in terms of day to day reliability ( peace of mind ), ease of driving in congested places and ofcourse the infamous ASS support.

Re: Tata Safari Storme Review | Test Drive | Pictures

I am nearing 4Ok kms on my Storme now. The car is mechanically strong, no issues there. Have taken it to places where no roads existed as well driven on superb highways. Found it at par on both. Infact could not have taken my Ikon to places where I have been with my Storme. Very happy and satisfied with me Phantom. ASS has been good so far, little noises here and there which I do hate and try my best to take care off, but they do resurface again.
Overall if given an option to think again and buy, I would again go for Storme, may be the updated version!

@Rajdeep, try the TASS which is preferred by fellow TAIan Mukesh, and if issues doesn't get sorted for longer duration, better to sell it off.

The noises seems to be intermittent.Back from 800km trip and noises very minimal.
Jump seats seems to be one of the source .
Co-Driver door is making a light whistling sound [lol].

Selling off is not a option.TATA has really bad re-sale value.
Loss will be very high.

Re: Tata Safari Storme Review | Test Drive | Pictures

Hi Guys,
Need some expert advise. I am nearing 5K on my Storme in 5 months. Since my last trip to Kokan, I feel the gearbox has become "more" notchy. During Gearshifts, specifically from 2nd to 3rd and 4th to 5th Gear, I feel some kind of resistance - it doesn't go smooth. I showed it to TASS guys twice. They do not agree that gearbox has any issue. I feel it's because they do not want to work on the problem as it's not a big issue for them.
Can any fellow Storme owner share their experience with the gear shifts?
Should I approach any private Service Center owner?
