@Krish_go:
One of my friend owns an Aria,in fact the first Aria here in Meerut.His car has already covered 30k+ kms but he is still to find any problems.
Although Tata's are simply great at building issues in their cars but now the scenario is changing,some issues persist but now they are quite acceptable(note:I haven't said that they have overtook Toyota).
Still,at least 7000kms are needed for the new Safari to produce some noises.

I too have just returned from my village(in Muzaffarnagar district)after completing the Gobardhan pooja.

The Safari is looking great sharing the parking spot with the farmer's car(Buggi or bullock-cart,as we say in english).

I too once owned a Safari two years back,it was a 2.2 EX 4X4 but since my father liked Innova(because one was serving us hassle free and still serving too)hence the Safari didn't stayed in our garage for more than 4 months and was sold out with just 18k kms on odo(we still covered 18k in just 4 months).

In my views,you must get a smaller one bull bar(the one that covers grille ony)as it will not hamper with safety features like airbags too and will take on the small bumps on itself too.
Get good black alloys as they totally change the side-profile of the car,also get some really large for lamps,like KCs etc..and then have a look at the Safari.
wwhhoo you too owned safari in past good to hear . Even my father was saying innova innova innova innova
me Safari or scorpio

don't worry i will to complete 18k in no time

haven't decided what alloy to go . any example would be great .

Like the one which was in my scorpio mHawk?
oh i see

Congrats on your Beast!.
Love the safari for its looks.

Even my mom loves the safari. When we were buying the mHawk, she was insisting on the safari.

She still maintains that the safari has the best rear seat comfort. I agree. Superb seats, generous space & great ride.

Few questions buddy, hope you don't mind

1] How is the pick-up/acceleration of 2.2 different from 3.0 Dicor?

2] Is 2.2 more smoother to drive than 3.0l?

3] How is the NVH level as compared to your prevoius Safari?

4] Any difference in ride and handling?

5] What about the braking of your VX 2.2 as compared to 3.0 L dicor?

6] Is the plastic quality of interior better than prevoius safari?

7] How is the build?

8] Last but not the least does this car delght you every time you drive/ride it?

@Mastersquall:
The reason for selling Safari was that my father as well as me too felt that the Safari was quiet bumpy and unsettled over the uneven surfaces as compared to the Innova(you yourself can experience it,the low speed ride of Safari is really very uncomfy,while the high speed ride is simply outstanding).So we had to sell it off and what's great that we got the buyer within 2 hours of declaring the car for sale.

About the once a SAFARian always a SAFARIan,what I know is..A SAFARian and then directly a Land Cruising guy as the time comes.This is my personal observation that most of the Safari guys jump over the Fortuner/Pajero/CRV and buy some premium SUVs.

The answers to your queries are as follows(I can answer them because I have driven Safari 3.0 for 5000+ kms and 2.2 vtt for more than 15000 kms):-

1) Acceleration is good,in fact better than 3.0,but only on highways.The lower end of 3.0 is still far better an hence 3.0 is easier to drive in city or slow moving traffic.

2)The 2.2 is far smoother than 3.0 and after the turbo starts up then its simply great to drive with some serious power under the tap.

3)NVH levels are really improved over the previous ones,but still there is a long way to go.Rest its NVH levels are quite acceptable and at low revs/low speeds you get a really silent cabin.

4)Ride and handling have changed a bit too much,I mean that now the handling is really very much confidence inspiring as compared to the 3.0(or nose heavy 3.0).Rest ride is still somewhere lacking,but better than the 3.0.

5)Braking is where the 2.2 excels over the 3.0,the 3.0 used to brake in a way that it will kill the person/vehicle coming in front.While the 2.2 vtt seems quite forgiving and with ABS its quiet good.But you can never expect a sedan like braking.It still brakes like a Safari and loves to bite others and tailgate other cars.

6)Plastic quality is far better than the previous generations.

7)The Safari has the truck DNA associated with it.So any more questions on the build?(only wide panel gaps are culprit rest the UV is built like a vault and the doors too close with the same sound like a vault is being closed)

8)This will be answered by MASTERSQUALL only...rest I am sure he is very delighted(I drive a TSI,so Safari....you can understand guys..)

well TSIVipul has explain already still here my observation

1. way better then 3.0 but still i miss its low end torque of 3.0.
2. yup its way smoother + dealer said after oil change it will become more smoother
3. as vipul said its better more silent
4. compare to 3.0 indeed ride and handling has improved . You will feel that 2.2 is in your control not like 3.0 used make you feel you are dead meat [lol]
5. can't comment on non-ABS/EBD but mine safari brake are better compare to 3.0 . Doesn't give heart attacked any more
6. plastic quality is way better compare to 3.0 but still there place to improve but i am very much satisfied with current plastic not like 3.0
7. can't comment much but no rattle at all . i have completed 1200KM till now . it feels like tank doesn't make you feel like you are seating in car which will fall apart like mine 3.0
8. I am enjoying it except that engine and gear which dealer said will improve after 2nd service but i am very satisfied with it . No regret at all

ammm well i didn't find much difference in my factory area if i compare innova with safari but ya i agree its little bumpy but not like 3.0 . i wanted to switch pajero or fortuner but they didn't made me feel VFM + didn't had kind of money to invest + maintenance [frustration]

Also buying a car is easy job but maintenance is worst part for that safari and scorpio was best candidate for the kind of work i do + still lighter on pocket

Guys i have completed 1200KM today booked service on Tuesday as after few trips i have planned it will cross 1500 no time

Do post your experience after you cover at least 100 kms after this first service,why?
Because the experience which I had with my VTT says that you will feel the difference between the zeroth and 100th km after the service is carried out.I mean after 100 kms,it will be more joyful.

@Master:
Even your will be very smooth,just drive it with a light foot(I mean don't exceed 3500 rpms now) and then you see after you cross 2000 kms.
The safari will become butter smooth just take care of its maintenance,because I have seen this in the villages that people are quiet not eager towards it(I too belong to jaat community and know the way vehicles are kept in villages and how the farmers keep their cars,they expect them to take the abuse like their Mahindra arjun 615 does).
