Brother i have seen this pics . I agree with you that the stickers might be hiding the new lines . But still the shape stays the same the headlights shape too stays same . If they market it as a refreshed vista i understand but all new hatchback is something iam afraid people won't digest well . Vista and manza are no cult vehicles like safari that people wont mind the same classic desgin treatment overall.
Although iam eagerly waiting to be proven wrong by Tata Motors. So lets wait till 3rd as you suggested ,and wish Tata all the best .
well know manufactureres like VW,VOLVO and AUDI their products have semilar designed cars in their product portfolio people accepted because their product quality and refinement levels in the same manner TATA also doing this if TATA BOLT(falcon4) is a well equipped features list, better build quality and best in class fuel efficiency and refinement campare to its revivals means people will deffinately accept it [clap]

You cannot expect TaMo to bring out a new platform just in one year. Except the head lights the front and side window areas, all is now.

It needs atleast 3-4 years for any car to to come on roads from the sketch boards. Meanwhile X1 is a new platform and has 'Pressure moulding with tailor end cross wield blanks technology' which is still a relatively new manufacturing technique still used by many companies including Suzuki, Fiat, GM, Ford, etc. The modular platforms are just a few years old are being worked upon by Tata Motors and will debut in 2015-16. Only few companies like the VW, JLR & BMW group have developed the modular platforms and vehicles have just started to roll out. So relative terms TaMo is ahead than many other manufacturers.

Vista and manza are no cult vehicles like safari that people wont mind the same classic desgin treatment overall.
Yes, cars do wear out faster than SUV and truly, TaMo was lazy enough to leave the product development and just concentrated on JLR. Hence it has paid off in rescuing the parent. TaMo is late, but not out and can easily pounce back into the race. When you can give cutting edge technology with reliability then surely they can win back peoples' hearts.

That is what precisely TaMo is working on and only time can decide it.

Boss first thing first .

Tata motors is not Audi , or Volvo , or VW in experience and brand image .

Almost all tata motors made car are reliable atleast since late 2011-2014 .

What major problem is and was is the tata a.s.s that too is becoming better day by day .

Now another problem and major one which made them lose their market share was aged portfolio of cars . The sumo looks the same since it's inception , the Indica even after 17 years looks same . Have the cars become reliable then before ? yes they have .
But do they look same ? yes . And there comes a time were people feel bore of the same desgin .And try to move on to more edgy and in time designs .

If tata stops the Indica and say after 25 years brings the same Indica in a retro avatar modernized like a mini or a beetle we can understand .

But now they need to change the desgin philosophy radically .

That is called marketing. Selling a refrigerator to an Eskimo! It's only a fraction of us who know it. What about the rest of the population.

But except the basic body silhouette every thing is new. But even the body is rebuilt for stiffness and reduction of weight. So it a radical refresh and can demand a new avatar.

If TaMo pulls out magic rabbit from the hat?

About reliabilty and a.s s here is a reports as old as today .


TASS service in bhopal have improved a lot
my vista has completed 1 year without any problem given my car for 3rd service summary of 3rd service
engine oil changed
oil filter replaced
air filter and diesel filter was in good condition so no replacement of the same
all oils top up (coolent,brake oil and steering oil)
wheel balancing , rotation and alignment
car washing
total 3rd service estimate Rs 3650

The Safari market is entirely different compared to the rest. And I never expected Safari sales to exceed 500 units a month. Still it is doing good. Also people have moved a segment higher to the Fortuner.

If people were not ignorant Reliance would not have flourished more and more and also so many bogus financial institutions flourished and shut their shop.

The Safari market is entirely different compared to the rest. And I never expected Safari sales to exceed 500 units a month. Still it is doing good. Also people have moved a segment higher to the Fortuner.

Brother we are talking about " looks " of a car which is a very evident thing which cannot be ignored . Hence said people are not ignorant to understand that the shape is same .
Again vista is or never was a swift that people will hold on to it even if the basic design stays the same .
I have no problem if they keep the same shape , but saying it's a all new car and making lot of noise about new design is something iam afraid people won't accept wholeheartedly . Although I can be wrong in my prediction and would love if iam proved wrong .

Ofcourse i agree with you tata is not a audi,or volvo,or VW they are experienced but i dont agree that tata is not able to built good products its just begging for them they just started building cars from 2decades without any help from foreign companies they learn their own at present their R&D is strong and comming to new design Philosaphy they are getting in that way to but they are trying trade mark design language like mercedes-benz i think [glasses].

We every one that and we have seen to from indica to vista how car design was changed so we so that we can able too seen new generation design from their next level cars possibly falcon range cars and their future Compact SUVs

Regarding the shape of indica and vista, have a look at Polo wiki link
Volkswagen Polo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Launched in 1975, the polo has been thru numerous design changes, which have evolved over time adapting to the changes as per market likings. At times it has adapted to the Merc design, and after multiple upgrades we see what we see.

The changes were radical changes and not just light changes

Similarly is the story of Honda City or even for that matter verna.

This is what I want the Tatas to follow too. Yes they are kind of slow but should adapt themselves.

As for falcon 4 aka Bolt I would want to see it with drastic body shell changes but I guess thats not to come. What we see in the images with nicely modified headlights and new tail lights WITH SAME BODY SHELL.

This is bit of let down. Yes I am very very excited about interiors, the new Revotron inside, completely new instrument cluster, new steering wheel design, probably fantastic center console panel with navigation system etc. Human macchine interface, probably voice commands.
BUT.... with the same body shell. Yes its all new but. but but it still gives the same perception.

Its all new inside out but body shell remains the same and an Average buyer would be considering it as vista upgrade. They will have to spend lot of energies on the educating the user that, it is infact an all new car (no lies here)
Had they changed/ tweaked the body shell. The effort would have been spared to some extent.

All the same lets see what we have in store on 3rd feb. Tata PLEASE prove me wrong.

and by the way, they have the best design house based out UK with them. Expectations are much more.

BTW, there is 3 pot nano which is being tested in pune, also have finalised the design for the mini SUV, the design they say is really great and not on the lines of the crossover concept which was show some time back. Its different. They are also working on the stronger bigger Revotrons of higher BHP as well.

i think why tata is retaining same body shell shape for new falcon range cars because only one reason simply falcon is a temporary rocket launch to gain market because building all new cars takes around 2 to 4 years time(but they are in that way too) but in the time span the lose everything so thats reason they planed reskinned vista with that they are trying to improve their quality n refinement levels so possibly TATAs upcomming lineup will be...

-2014 year- TATA falcon 4 and falcon 5 range cars and are cross falcan 4 version.

-2015 year- TATA JUMP CSUV and CMPV

I think it should not matter much if the silhouette is not changed at all. Vista is designed with cabin space as the biggest parameter. Hence such a shape. Keeping this in mind any change to the skin will be appreciated. Also there is a limit to what designers can play with.
