Re: Tata Falcon Hatchback & Compact Sedan To Debut at Auto Expo

What happened to the CR4 Vista? Buried? Looks like [cry]
TML is now offering the D90 at 25k off-sat in one outside VST Vellore-no test drive was given as driver was not willing! Was 8L+ onroad!- not hard to see why not a hot-seller-made me think that TML still needs to be much much more VFM for a while to come-ie Significantly more affordable while reliable and sturdy! The Manza is costlier in some versions than the 2014 Honda City! Can't get their logic at all[surprise]

2014 Tata Vista Tech complete details revealed
IAB have revealed more about the upgraded 2014 Vista. I think only the VX version gets upgraded? If not i wonder if i can get my Vista's suspension uprated to the new one? Improvements in drive, handling, NVH always make me wish TML has an upgrade programme for existing customers-may have a few takers!

Tata Motors planning up for the new Falcon hatchback is something which is awaited by me. It is pretty obvious that Vista Tech the upgraded version of the previous vista is going to run on the streets. I am expecting something new from Tata. I am sure the compact sedan would be an another great surprise from which i would expect luxury and more comfort in handling. Auto Expo 2014 .. Lets see what you get for your car-lovers. [:)]

Exclusive: Tata Manza CS(Falcon5) caught Testing
Source:ZigWheels Exclusive: Tata Manza CS caught| ZigWheels.com

Tata Motors has been working on a compact version of the Manza sedan for a while now. And for good reason. The compact sedan class (read sedans under 4-metres) has been one of the few segments that has actually been registering handsome growth. Cars like the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire and the Honda Amaze are in great demand, so much so, that these cars have actually begin hurting small car sales.

Tata Motors which was one of the first manufacturer to realise the potential of a sub 4-metre sedan after the government reduced excise duties on cars measuring less than 4-metre with engines displacing less than 1.2-litre for petrol and 1.5-litre for diesel had introduced the Indigo CS quite successfully. But, since others entered the fray, the Indigo CS had been losing steam - facelifts, added features and a new prefix - e - notwithstanding. Clearly, given the competition, Tata needed a new generation product that could take over from the age-old Indigo CS.

Say hello to the Manza CS. It is based on the same platform as the Vista hatchback and the Manza sedan. But, it will share the wheelbase and track lengths, and its exterior and interior styling with the full length sedan. The most significant change to the design is, of course, at the rear. The Manza CS gets a new boot lid design and fresh tail lamps that are of the wrap around variety. The bumpers - both front and back, as well as the front grille design is new and it gets new ORVMs as well.

Given the rules that define the excise benefit, the Manza CS will sport a smaller petrol engine. The engine will be a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol and will make close to 90PS of max output. Now, we have seen naturally aspirated engines with similar engine capacity make similar power, so the focus for Tata Motors with this engine clearly is better fuel economy.

The Manza CS will come with a 5-speed manual and will run on 15 inch wheels for the top trims. It will comfortably be one of the most spacious in its class as well. It will be available in a number of trim options for both petrol and diesel versions and expect the top of the line variant to sport best in class kit like Bluetooth telephony, digital climate control and possibly an in-built Satnav as well.

The prices for the Manza CS should undercut the Swift Dzire's given the latter's success and reach. Will the new Manza CS be a better buying proposition than the likes of the Dzire and the Amaze, well, we will have the answer post it's reveal at the Expo.

SCOOP! Tata Motors ‘Falcon’ hatchback christened Tata Bolt

The Tata Bolt will make its debut at the Auto Expo 2014 after its formal unveiling on February 3rd in New Delhi. Known by its codename ‘Falcon 4’ this new hatchback has been christened the Tata Bolt and will displayed alongside its sub-4 metre saloon sibling which is internally called the ‘’Falcon 5’ (the market name of the compact saloon has not been disclosed)

The Tata Bolt is based on Tata’s X1 platform and is essentially a heavily re-designed version of the Vista but can be seen as an all-new car. Apart from the glass area, which is carried over from the Vista, the Tata Bolt gets new body panels and mechanicals too.

The re-styled nose is said to be very striking as are the strong character lines on flanks. The big news though is the departure from the tall, vertically stacked tail lights which is the original Indica signature, to a more conventional wing shaped shaped design.

Tata Motors has revamped the interiors too with an all-new dashboard and better seats which has made the cabin plusher than before.

The mechanicals are said to be hugely improved too with a new suspension design for better ride and handling. The big news however is the switch to Electric Power Steering (EPS) courtesy ZF, who are suppliers to the Nano Twist as well. The EPS which is believed to be much lighter than the hydraulically assisted steering of the Vista. This has allowed Tata to use a smaller diameter steering wheel in the Tata Bolt.

The Bolt will be powered by Tata Motor’s all-new 84bhp Revotron 1.2 litre turbo-petrol and the tried and trusted Fiat sourced 1.3 multi-jet diesel.

The Tata Bolt’s prices are likely to be announced only when the car goes on sale sometime this year.

Re: Tata Falcon Hatchback & Compact Sedan To Debut at Auto Expo

ata Motors will unveil an all-new SUV concept called ‘Jump’ at the Auto Expo 2014 next month. Based on the X1 platform which also underpins the Vista and now the new ‘Falcon’ family, the Jump is a sub-4 metre Ecosport rival which the company hopes to bring to the market by 2015.

Tata Motors has been completely absent in the compact SUV segment and with the Jump, the company hopes to cash in on one of the fastest growing segments in the market. Though the Jump is still in a concept stage, it will showcase Tata Motors new design language for its future range of cars.

Powetrain options are likely to be a 100bhp, 1.2 turbo-petrol from Tata’s recently launched Revotron engine family and an all-new diesel which the company is developing in-house.

The Jump is likely to be showcased at the Geneva show as well in March 2014.

Hatchback is 'Bolt', then will the Sedan be 'Nut'? Then the SUV will be 'Rivet'?

Second application of the Electric Power Steering! Wow!

That means TATA wants to preserve the power distributed to the power steering and the little extra power is left to the wheels. Then it will be power packed engine. So expect the steering to handle well apart from the engine's rev and better weight to speed ratio.

Let's see how much zippy is this one compared to the industry bench mart Maruti Swift which is considered most ajile and nimble when it comes to handling.
