40kmpl is great! Any idea about launch and price? My dad is very keen on buying a small car(Nano) for city chores!
BTW i see the Indigo is the front has also got test plates?

This should come soon, as the Nano numbers have rose and with the diesel version coming in at least No.2 position(Montly sales brand wise) should be possible. Then on may be also top the charts.

Tata Motors is planning to launch a Nano model that will run 40 kilometres on a litre of diesel, matching the mileage of a typical 180cc motorcycle.
It will be the most fuel-efficient car in India.

Recently while driving on Pune-Banglore highway I had seen 2 nano's zipped very fast, they had temp reg plates, I was not able to take photo![[frustration]](https://www.theautomotiveindia.com/forums/images/smilies/Frustration.gif "Frustration [frustration]")
as they zipped very fast and driving zig zag. Wonder those were nano diesel. ![[confused]](https://www.theautomotiveindia.com/forums/images/smilies/Confused.gif "Confused [confused]")

Just saw CNBC Aawaz scoop : Tata Nano diesel coming at Jan 2012 New Delhi auto expo, with claimed mileage of 25-30 kmpl, and approximated price of 1,90,000 ,more power than petrol nano, bajaj 1 lac car beware.
