Another spotting of the Nano Diesel,

The colour look's very classy hope they launch this colour on the existing Nano Variant's.
Look's like both front and rear bumper will be completely redesigned.

I think TATA would launch this cr4 engine in Ace/Magic first, and then after proper "real world" feedback we will get diesel nano in next financial year.Can not wait to drive one.

The most anticipated diesel car of all time has run into heaps of trouble before even heading to the production line.
MoneyControl reports that Tata Motors is facing pessimistic responses from the supplier circuit for parts that will go into the Nano diesel. The chief reason for the negativity is the mediocre sales of the Tata Nano petrol.
The Tata Nano petrol was touted to the Model T of the 21st century. Tata Motors predicted a monthly sales of 20,000 units, according to some claims, when the vehicle was launched.
Unfortunately, the Nano is struggling reach even 10,000 units per month and with the recent announcement in hike of petrol prices, that number is set to drop further. As a result of the low volumes, profitability of the vendors have taken a massive hit.
Tata Motors is projecting a demand of 2.5 lakh diesel Nanos every year. But the vendors are not to upbeat about the Nano diesel and don’t want to set up the capacity that Tata Motors has projected.
Tata tried revising it to only 30,000 units per annum but the vendors are not providing any discount on such volumes. Vendors are charging a premium or at least higher pricing for 30,000 units per annum to which Tata Motors are not ready to pay. Negotiations are still underway.
Because of this friction, no launch date of the Tata Nano diesel has been decided.

Is it possible to put a TATA ACE engine in a Nano. AFAIK, the ACE engine is the Indica Diesel chopped into half and the Nano engine is the Indica Petrol chopped into half.

The Tata Nano Diesel indeed exists and Honeywell, an OEM autoparts maker has been quite vocal about this car. The Nano’s 700 to 800cc diesel engine will use a turbocharger from Honeywell, whose expertise in turbocharger technology is well regarded across the auto industry with a range of car makers using turbochargers designed and developed by Honeywell based on specific requirements. The diesel Nano could feature a twin cylinder diesel engine displacing 700cc to 800cc, and Honeywell would have had to develop a very small turbo to work well with such a small engine.

Honeywell also puts the engine capacity of the diesel Nano at 800cc, in a separate document. The car is expected to be the most fuel efficient ones in India, and possibly the world. A fuel economy number of 40 Kmpl is what the Nano diesel is expected o deliver. Test mules of the Nano diesel have already begun doing the rounds in and around the Tata Motors plant in Pimpri, off Pune. The diesel variant of the Nano is also expected to come with a host of other changes to make the compact hatchback a lot more desirable.
