Re: Tata Nano – To Its Best

Hi All,

Whenever I park my Twist under direct sun light, it gets tooooo hot inside. I think it is a common scenario to all the cars. Is there any way we can avoid more heat to come inside the car, Just like pasting some sheet on the roof or painting the roof with black color??? Is there any better proven method????

@Sai I think your Nano has black painted roof. Is there any specific reason to that with respect to heat??

Is there any best after market seats for our Nano??? If yes, please suggest me!!!

By the way, my odo showing 2980km [:)] ...

Thanks,
Sureshkumar

Sai, looking to change some bulbs (side light, cabin light, rear number plate light) to white LED in Nano LX (as of now all stock bulbs there)

Please advise which bulbs will be direct fit and would it need any relay ? Also if available online , provide links.

There are lot of LED bulb options for Parking Lamp, Indicator Lamp, Cabin Lamps etc., Those LED bulbs fit directly. The connectors are very universal. Just read the product caption. Changing brake bulbs in tail lamps to LED is not something I will suggest. Read about LEDs and their identification numbers such as 1056, 5050 and then go for the best suitable to your taste.

First of all brake bulbs requires dual circuit connection and the dual circuit bulbs available in our markets are not bright and you cannot really distinguish when brake switch circuit is activated rendering the setup dangerous.

You will need to change the flasher relay to the one specifically made for LED bulbs or the indicators will flash rapidly signifying bulb failure. This happens as LED bulbs compared to filament buls use very less current and on-board detection thingy detect that as bulb failure.

Anyways as a personal suggestion I will advise you to change to LED bulbs at Parking Lamps and Interior Cabin Lamps. I have tried and tested various diffrent LED bulbs available on ebay at all locations except for side indicators (don't know how to open them). And trust me they perform poorly.

If you are looking for change only for cosmetic reasons then,

White LED bulbs at parking light gives you premium look,

Front LED indicator look weird due to amber lens.

Rear LED indicator will give you psychedelic light output pattern due to pattern present on the tail lamp lens.

Rear LED Brake lamps even if dual circuit does not look good cosmetically as well

Cabin Light, go for adjustable cabin light with housing and mount it on roofliner at overall center position for optimum illumination of cabin and draw power from factory cabin lamp wiring. Just changing bulb in factory cabin lamp fails to provide proper illumination due to the lens structure. Then again, If you are only looking for changing bulb from factory installed cabin lamp, let me open and check what bulb can fit inside as there is lot of variety in market for cabin lamps.

I have few extra LED bulbs lying around for indicator and a pair for brake lamp. Let me know if you want them.

Thanks.

Nano has bigger greenhouse, Compared to body, windows and glass area is much more higher than other cars. One thing you can do is to cover all the windows and rear window by those suction cup sun screens available in the market or similar products. and cover the front windshield by reflective silver sheet you can get from auto stores which is specifically designed for cars.

Another option is to provide a little bit of ventilation while car is parked by keeping windows opened by 1-2 cm. Note that this is very risky and I will not suggest this, but it's another way to solve your problem till some extent.

Thank you.

painting roof will get you more heat in. try to park in shade. no other option. in my college parking, my car is under direct sun from 8 am to 5 pm. when i come back to take the car, i open front doors, start the car and swith on AC and wait till the heat is down. then i enter the car.
for seat covers you can get from GP road.with custom seat covers you can add little bit cushion to the stock seat. but for twist the current cushion level is enough, its much better than the previous version. i had a TD of new twist as i was offered a exchange for my current nano in showroom. Can you please tell me the on road price you paid?

change number plate lights, front park light and cabin lights. leave all others as such,
no plate lights and park lights are T10
interior cabin light is normal festoon type.

for numberplate lights and parklights, get from a seller "bullLeds" from Ebay. those are little costly and it last longer.I'm using it for the past 1 year.
Bull Leds SET OF 5 T10 Xtreme Series 5SMD T10 ALL Cars Exterior Interior | eBay

u get 5 LEDs totally. put the black one for front and white for no plates. one spare

Re: Tata Nano – To Its Best

Got these 2.5 inch lens projector off ebay. Waiting for the delivery.
Box looks like a direct copy of philips hid boxes.

Anyways, please provided detailed info when you get the item.

Any ideas for using LED neon tubes as DRL in headlamps? Can't think of an idea. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152375204384453.1073741833.91592134452&type=1 This is one good example.
If I'm not mistaken, those are called EL wires aka Electroluminescent wires or could be LED Neon Flex also since it looks thick.

Thanks...
Best Regards
