Re: Tata Nano – To Its Best

Is the new chrome available with TAS, what is the cost of the same?
ya, its available in TATA dealership accessory. costs less than 500rs. I bought it from ebay.in .

Hi, does the sub comes with inbuilt amplifier? can this be directly connected to HU?
yes, it comes with inbuilt amp. you can directly connect it to HU if you have a pre-amp sub out in your HU

the spoilers that come with LX version cant be fit in Cx or Std. LX's spoiler is fixed on the rear glass. you can get aftermarket spoilers for about 3K in a accessory store and also in a TATA dealer. i guess there is a seller in ebay selling spoilers and he has one for nano too. with painting it costs 4K. but one thing you have to know before you buy a spoiler. you have to drill on your body to fix it. if its not done properly water may leak inside during rain or washing.

Some good news guys! Nano is featured in a tamil automobile magazine.

Congrats Shibu for the continuous media attention received by your car.[:)]

IIRC, this is the third tribute your white guy is getting next to the mentioning in tata official website and in team bhp.[clap]

Re: Tata Nano – To Its Best

Hi All,

Planning to go for Tirupathi(Hill Station). Is our NANO capable of doing hill climb??

Cool article shibu...!!!
Just like any other car Nano also is capable of doing ghat roads.
I did a Theni to Kodaikanal trip this february in my Nano and the car surprised me at many places pleasantly. Through out the ghat stretch i was able to do in third gear at a relaxed speed of 40-60 kmph. Only at a few hairpin bends and at potholes i had to downshift to 2nd and sometimes to 1st.

So you dont have to worry much about Tirupati ghat sections because the road is wide enough and superbly laid. And most importantly you dont have the tension of oncoming traffic.

Wish you a happy journey and a good darshan.

Tata nano- to its best (53800km Update)

haven't updated about nano for long time!
i recently did a ~500km drive from coimbatore to nagercoil. i was hearing a thud thud sound from underbody when ever it hits a pothole. i was suspecting the suspension and dampers. so took the car to tata service and complained about the same. initially they dismantled the bumpers front skirts and did a TD and confirmed its not the suspension or dampers. they kept the car for 3 days and after some R&D they confirmed its the steering box and it need complete replacement. initially they refused to replace in warranty due to upsized wheels . but later some how they did the replacement in warranty. leaving the steering box problem , i had some rattling noise from door pads. my electrician broke some pad pins when fixing the front door speakers and central locking module and also some pins in A pillar pads were not there and it was showing gaps. the tube for windshield washer got cracked and water was leaking in between the nozzle . replaced that too. the main reason for my tire uneven wear for the problem with rack and pinion, thats what the service advisor told. i couldnt get the Arrowhead filters, angad , who is also a fellow TAI-an is not working for that company any more, so replaced with the stock airfilters. my speedometer is having some error, replacing that in warranty. speedo was not in stock on that day. waiting for that. bought a cheap chinese rear parking assist with 4 sensor for 1160rs in ebay. yet to fix that. thats the 53800 Km Odo update. travelling back to coimbatore tomorrow!

Service bill costs 2102Rs
rack and pinion costs 2500rs which was in warranty.
washer tube with nozzle is 49rs
AC pollen filter is 130rs
door pad pins 5rs each, around 10 pins were added.
airfilter 160rs

rest for labour, which includes AC filter cleaning , Rack and pinion replacing, Door rattling issue , full waterwash and washer tube fitting
