The new twist surely looks much more upmarket, specially the new speedometer console with added features like the temperature gauge, clock, FE. I believe it also has distance to empty.

head lamps lights are of hid lights or any other light,
from where can we tints our tail lamps and head lamps i m staying in orissa can it be done by any car decorative showroom.
and whether a defoger lamp can be installed on back

Headlamps are not HIDs its 130/100w halogens from hella
Taillamps tinting , nowadays sticker shop people are doing it. Rear fog lamps can be installed at dealer place

I own a tata nano lx which has 5k on the odo and has just underwent it's 5k service recently.
The vehicle was purchased during oct-2013 and i am just loving it. In fact i am a huge fan of your white guy which played a vital
role in my buying decision when i was contemplating between nano and a Indo-Jap hatch.

I normally upshift from 3rd to 4th at around 60kmph because i find 4th gear to be lifeless below 55 kmph. Will it affect the FE?
Or if i upshift a little early will i get a slightly better FE?

The upshift recommendations given by tata for each gear seems to be generic and not specific to nano IMHO. Because the Tata Indica Lsi (petrol) which we sold recently also had the same speed recommendation and it suited to that car somehow.

At what speed you normally upshift from 3rd to 4th?

my upshift speed depends. if im driving in a highway and want to overtake a truck i cant upshift to 4th gear at 50kmph. i may have to stretch to 80kmph. now a days i stopped shifting with respect to speed. when i feel there is enough power to shift , i shift gear. 4th will normally lie between 50kmph to 60kmph.

Hi Venkat, Regarding FE, I can surely tell that, upshifting early gives excellent mileage. I tested in my NANO and I got around 30kmpl. Please see previous posts of mine.

Congrats "sureshsocial2012".

I also gifted Nano XT to my Dad few months back. I changed the stock tyres with some upsizing Michelin XM2 155/70R12 [all tyres same size]. Now my dad fell very confident while cornering on highway and urban roads.

Guys, Is it possible to reterofit the OE glovebox and speakers set-up of current nano models in a previous model (2010 CX)??? One of my friend is impressed about it and wants to have the same in his ride.
When i checked with an A.S.C they told us that they dont have it as an accessory but i have my doubts.
Any other ways to procure ?

yes you can fix it. it will be available in tata genuine spares dealer. the thing is, they wont have it in stock. you have to place order and wait for some 10-15 days. im swapping LX centre gear console . placed the order and waiting for the part to arrive. in chennai i guess there is one in GP Road.
for other spares you get in 99RPM . heard they ship late.

I gifted Nano XT to my dad in my home town "Amravati". He is using it for daily purpose for city and highway drives. I stay in Pune and haven't visited my home town from a long time, so not getting a chance to click photos; also my dad is not so techie to click photos from correct angle and send it to me. Once I visit my home will surely post them on TAI.

But my dad says that there is no problem while cornering/U turns. Also checked with TASS engineer.

Early I used to feel little bit scared about upsizing but saw many Nano's in Pune with same upsizing, that too on non-power steering variant. Now had a peace in mind.

Sorry, my mistake. Its 30-Apr-2012 manufactured engine.

Even My Nano is same month, probably same batch. But I dot have that problem. Can you elaborate the issue you are facing.

I think you have Nano XT, which is quite silent compared to earlier ones. Try for external muffler.

Yes it is quite possible to do it, Check my ownership thread, my car has same (though 2012 model). Try to buy from any Tata Authorized Spare Shop or any other accessory shop.
