Re: The Story of Tata's Epic Journey from Trucks to Aria

Does any one have a time line or idea when the previously oft mentioned dolphin become a reality-if it exists-the car between the indica and the vista?
As per an insider of TATA on another forum sadly Dolphin project has been dtiched by TATA,they are now solely concentrating on their current breed of products and improving them to gain more market share.Hence all new projects have been scrapped.

Wow great pics Vipul, isn't it surprising that an old stalwart like Sumo went on to beat rally specialist vehicles like gypsy etc, and win the Desert Storm rally?

Last month was historic for TATA Motors as they sold more than 1 lakh vehicles for the very first time.

It seems that I will need to write about the history of Tata motorsports soon, especially after witnessing the unprecedented amount of success they are having at the momentin this field.

Now I got it,but still I believe it as a glorious achievement for a car like Sumo.
One more question:IS THIS CAR COMPLETELY STOCK?I MEAN HAS THIS CAR GOT THE STEERING,SUSPENSION AND ENGINE SAME AS WE SEE ON THE REGULAR ROAD-GOING CARS?(As much I have heard, team Tata motors full throttle is running just stock cars only.)

Really I never expected this much success from TATA on this level. As about me writing, well THE XOVER can't do it alone without the help of his buddy TSIVipul. So together lets create dhoom one more time. What say? [;)]

Re: The Story of Tata's Epic Journey from Trucks to Aria

Sumo winning such races shows that it has muscles, though it doesn't flaunt it.[clap] Great news from Tata.

Tata has also launched their website for pixel concept -

Tata Motors Pixel : Home

And as it was showcased at Geneva motor show recently, I don't think TML has scrapped the plan. Maybe for India, they are busy with Storme & Aria V2.

BTW, does anyone have updates about Manza CS ?

Tata developing Nano with left hand drive

Tata Motors Signs Distribution Deal in Myanmar

Tata Motors has entered into an agreement with Burma’s Apex Greatest Industrial Co Ltd. (AGI), for the distribution of its commercial vehicles and passenger cars in Myanmar.
The purchase & sale agreement was signed on May 26, at Myanmar’s capital city of Nay Pyi Taw, by Mr. R. T. Wasan, Head – International Business (Commercial Vehicles) and Mr. Johnny Oommen, Head – International Business (Passenger Vehicles), on behalf of Tata Motors, and the Chairman of AGI Myanmar, Mr. U Kyi Thein.

In March 2010, Tata Motors had signed a turnkey contract with Myanma Automobile & Diesel Industries Limited (MADI), an enterprise under the Government of Myanmar’s Ministry of Industry-2, for setting up a heavy truck assembly plant, at Magwe, in central Myanmar, funded by a US$ 20 million Line of Credit from the Government of India. The plant, inaugurated in December 2010, is now operational.

With a highly flexible chassis & frame assembly line, along with cab manufacturing, paint shop and trimming set-up, the plant has a capacity of producing 1,000 vehicles per annum initially and has the flexibility of augmenting up to 5,000 per year.

TATA MOTORS emerged as India's most reputed company in Neilsen's survey.[clap]

TATA companies always had a reputation.

However, there is lot of bad publicity for TATA Motors. They need to strive hard to remove its negative image amoung youth in India especially the IT brigade.

Visran,

Tata has just recently announced that the Air powered car has passed first round of testing, I guess it still a good 3-4 year's away from production.
