Re: The Story of Tata's Epic Journey from Trucks to Aria

pics clicked by one of my NE owner friends shrikant, this is private passing recovery van, it's 807 with 713 cabin as same as our 807 was [ military cabin with circular pop up hood on left side for firing purpose ]
sad to see its state, circle headlights giving worst look, anyone who lives at mumbai can snap some good snaps of same vehicle. it's always being parked near KALAMBOLI PHATA / CIRCLE
our 807 was in decent condition, then engine got blown by our damn rash driver, lately we had fitted 608 engine, everything was going fine unless government closed OVERLOAD policy for vehicles, 608 engine was very powerful but none of use if considered to its average and loading capacity, after all these things happened, a mid aged man came to our home and he was asking us to sell our 807 to him, dad decided to sell it but unfortunately that guy was none other than a bloody scrapyard guy, he scrapped it in front of us but we were unable to do anything as it was sold ! sad but a true story, and thats the reason why our bedford J6 is rusting but dad is not selling it. he knows mostly it will end up in scrap
we still have our 807's front windshields, 2 pieces of right side and 1 of left side, if anyone needs them just come here and take them home ! i dont want money i just wanna see a 807 living a long life

Re: The Story of Tata's Epic Journey from Trucks to Aria

Tata Motors is all set for some action. They have sent us multiple invitations for separate events.

> First invite is for a launch of their new engine on 20th Jan.

> Second invite is regarding an ‘important announcement’ on 3rd Feb.

Do keep checking around The Automotive India for constant and detailed updates.

Re: The Story of Tata's Epic Journey from Trucks to Aria

New engine probably be the 1.2l turbo petrol..!!
Here is the list of various changes and improvements on the 2014 Vista Tech variants:

Instrumentation console positioned in front of the driver.
Revised dual path suspension that supposedly reduces weight and strut noise, and improves ride quality and steering return-ability.
Cable type door locks that supposedly improves door shut feel, boosts reliability and longevity.
Revised master clutch design for weight reduction, improved clutch life and lighter operation.
Teflon coated headliners for dust and water resistance.
Low current combi switch for better reliability and longevity
Revised nexteer rack and pinion system for steering
The Vista Tech’s top end VX variant come with twin airbags and ABS+EBD, steering mounted audio controls and automatic climate control.

So finally the curtains are drawn over the Vista-Falcon 4 confusion.

In diesel variants TDi and Q'Jet confirmed
Petrol variants might be a closely held secrets

My thinking is that the Turbo petrol variant will come in the Vista Tech and the Sapphire engine may be continued in the Falcon 4.

So this engine launch might also be the launch of the Vista Tech with the Turbo engine.

Is VX is the Top end version of Vista Tech? What about ZX?

Current Vista's Topend version is ZX and below to that is VX.

The difference between ZX and VX is Air bag and Alloys(Which is present in ZX Topend Model)

Your observation is right. Cartoq has made a mistake. Vista VX Tech does not have Airbags.

Vista VX Tech variant has satellite navigation system, ABS, EBD, touchscreen multimedia system, steering mounted audio controls, Blue 5 technology, 4 speakers and 2 tweeters, dual tone interiors, triple barrel headlamps, exterior chrome pack and 7 speed intermittent wipers.

The new Falcon will have Airbags and other hitech features.

There are a few questions, the person who is attending this event, needs to ask the TML Engine development Management team on behalf of TAI members.

1. What happened to the 3 cyl 1050cc engine shown at the 2012 Auto expo

2. What happened to the 3000cc 200 BHP engine coupled to a 6 speed gear box displayed at the 2012 Indonesian auto show (truck & Bus show)

3. Any plans of manual 6 speed gear box for the Falcon/Vista/Manza and the 2.2L DiCOR safari

4. Is there any 800cc pertol engine in the pipeline.

5. This is the major question I need to know - Why is TATA not introducing the All Aluminium engine which Maruti adopted more than 10 years back and still continuing the heavy iron cast block to make the petrol engines.

Current Vista VX also have all the features which are mentioned above including Intelligent Rear Wiper. But the touchscreen multimedia system with satellite navigation system will be the great addition to it[clap]

Re: The Story of Tata's Epic Journey from Trucks to Aria

Turbo petrol will be introduced in Falcon4 IMHO..!!
May be Safire will be offered in Vista Tech..!! Mere 65 Bhp cannot do justice to a 1.2 ton car.
But shedding of 4 kgs is a good news. [:)]

I'm eager to see how TML differentiate Falcon from Vista Tech. Means how the customer sentiment will be for the Falcon. Stop-Start switch will be a good addition to Falcon along with ABS & current VX features..!!

IMHO it would be better if they offer only Falcon and phase out the Vista (think there's no real need of keeping a vista tech) else keep the old tdi engine only for the vista to reduce product and variant line-up.

Tata should have the courage to discontinue the current Vista and deal only with the Falcon. But first they should phase out the good old Indica eV2 & Safari 2.2 VTT. Indigo eCS and Sumo Gold should also be phased out but in a later period.. [roll]

Vista tech and Falcon will comprise the Vista range and Falcon5 and Manza will be the Manza range. If they can differentiate the cars then no problem in selling simultaneously. Swift and Ritz are same cars but different in design aiming the same segment. But here interiors are revamped, also the engines (expect D90 & T100 in Falcon4). Differentiation in style is limited to front & back..!! Overall silhouette is the same..[anger]

First of all TATA should design the car that have no resemblance to any car from their stable before. Then only we can expect something good to happen. If they design the new car also on the similar style to Vista or Indica. Then only God can save them.

I think due to Falcon launch Tata will drop Vista D90 all together. The Vista Tech is 75 BHP engine.

ZX will be dropped to stop cannibalization.

Well, that is still far as the falcon 4 which we all are seeing has the same body shell as that of vista. What TATA have done is they have removed the christmas tree tail lights, and modified the headlights and grille. Though this looks good, to call it a new car from outside is not what is appears.

however, the interiors seem vastly improved with a i20 type of steering wheel, upgraded instrument cluster. Can call it all new from inside.

What they have done to falcon is same what they did to Storme. Though Storme is all new vehicle from inside out, since the body shell was same as safari, it is still percieved to be facelift safari.

I guess same will be the case with Falcon4 as well. Falcon will not be perceived as new car but a facelifted Vista.

God only saves whom he respects and whom he respects are daring , creative , unusual and striving for uniqueness .

If tata wants to produce boring cars to look at and keep making sticker jobs ( read refreshes ) because it's safe and easy , it's better they are washed out from the market . We don't need a Indian manufacturer in the market who sets example of a Medicore mindset and output and capabilities .

People are ready to compromise at times on things if the given product is highly desirable . With tata all their cars are at a point were we can say are completely reliable but they are not desirable .
