Tata Motor's are in a danger to give away their 3rd position to Toyota who just trailed by 2K unit's in December, Karl slym has his work cut out.

Tata Motors doubles warranty period on Heavy Trucks to 4 years

Tata Motors has introduced an unbeatable warranty of 4 years, on its entire range of heavy trucks with 25 tonnes and higher GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight). With this, Tata Motors has become the first company in India to offer a standard warranty of 4 years on heavy trucks, a clear reflection of the reliability and durability of Tata Motors trucks. The 4-year warranty, applicable on the full range of tractor trailers, multi-axle trucks & tippers of 25 tonnes GVW & above, covers the vehicle’s driveline (engine, gear box & rear axle) as a standard offer. In addition, the warranty on the rest of the vehicle has been enhanced from 18 months to 24 months.

Tata Motors stated that it accounts for two of every three tractor trailers, multi-axle trucks and tippers, with 25-tonne GVW or higher, sold in India. Commenting on the introduction of the 4-year standard warranty, Ravi Pisharody, Executive Director - Commercial Vehicles, Tata Motors, said, “For close to 60 years now, Tata Motors has been a step ahead in offering new technologies, products and value added services. The 4-year warranty is another industry first, in our pursuit of partnering the customer through the lifecycle of the product. We believe that it is a perfect New Year gift to our customers.”

The 4 year’s standard warranty is applicable on vehicles sold after 6th Jan 2013. Tata Motors has designed the 4-year standard warranty based on the lifecycle cost study of over 15 lakh Tata trucks & tippers operating all over the country, in varied terrain and loading conditions. The 4-year warranty is supported by Tata Motors extensive dealership & service network of over 1,300 touch points. On the highways of India, there is a Tata Motors touchpoint every 50 kms. This extensive coverage, is backed by ‘Tata Alert’, a highway assistance programme for medium and heavy commercial vehicles, available across all national highways in India. Through ‘Tata Alert’, drivers will receive on-site breakdown assistance within 4 hours of dialing a toll-free helpline number (1800-209-7979). The 24x7 ‘Tata Alert’ service will ensure that a vehicle is put back on the road within 48 hours from the time restoration work begins. In case of major repairs and the vehicle carrying perishable goods, ‘Tata Alert’ will provide load transfer assistance.

December has historically always been a bad month for TML(barring 2011),so the sales figures were not a shock.

As far as Toyota or anyone else touching Tata, nah it still is far away.I am sure with positive figures for Storme,Manza club class and the newly launched Vista D90 will help them reclaim their no.2 spot really fast.[:)]

And once Nano diesel hits the market,it will be sure bliss[:D]

EDIT:
whats that vehicle going ahead of this LHD bus, in white with red number plate, looks some test mule as well.
Vijay, that vehicle is Force ONE SUV.
