If you analyse the sales of UVs, HEXA seems to have had a bumper dispatch. 84% surge in sales of UVs should not have much translated for Safari or SUMO but mostly HEXA. So keeping aside 500 each for Safari and SUMO, we are left with 1878 pieces of HEXA. So expect around 2k dispatches for HEXA.

Good numbers.
But only thing that we need to consider is that, these 2K hexas are prior to the increase in CESS on luxury vehicles. So most of these hexas have been bought by the people who were sitting on the fence. Real picture will come up post GST and CESS tide is over and people have finally settled in the new GST regime. But I still expect Hexa to continue clocking close to 1.5K units per month. Any thing above I would consider it as a bonus.

TATA MOTORS has slashed the price of HEXA by 2.17 lakhs. But once the cess is increased from 15 to 25 I expect TML will not bump up the price by 2.17again. Maybe they will not jack up more than 1.5L. They have used the GST as a price drop tactic.

If cess is increased to 25%, then the price is expected to rise by 1.2 lakhs exshowroom. With RTO and all, it may be about 2 lakhs.

But then this rise will be across the segment. Depending on the price ie.

1715 Tata Hexa's sold in August month. Good improvement from 1564 sold in July month, which itself was way more than 550 sold in June.

Looks like people started accepting, and now word of mouth should grow it further (Just like it's happening for Tiago, whose August month sales is highest since its launch).

I can see more & more Hexa's day by day running on the road. People are accepting the HEXA, definitely HEXA's sales is taking pace. TML is doing good marketing of HEXA & sales numbers shows the positive result.

Hope TML will bring the most awaited XZ or whatever they gonna call it version of HEXA with some features from XUV5OO like ESP on Autobox, Sunroof and powered driver seat and not to forget bigger touchscreen infotainment.

Most of the Hexa's I saw were of XTA variants and few of them were of XM.
Buddy, since the launch and as the initial sales happened, it was clear that the majority of demand indeed was for Hexa's top variant. The gradual rise of sales numbers for Hexa has been positive and quite assuring. It took time but slowly I would say, the perception of people has begun to change towards the new range of Tata products. If I decide to sell off my CITY Ivtec in future, I would surely consider Automatic Hexa too. Even though it is quite a big vehicle yet at this price point, I feel it is really a worthy option.

Regards

Akash

August months sales figures are out.

HEXA- 1715 which is higher than last month & best till date,
XUV5OO- 2969 is another one who got better sales than last month,
Innova Crysta- 5963 which is very less, almost 4000 units less than last month,

and new kid on the block Jeep Compass- 2020 units for August month.

This segment is heating up, Hope will have new updated XUV5OO & another higher with better features XZ or anything TML will call it version of HEXA soon.

P.S.- Data of sales is taken from "Auto Punditz".

Good numbers for the Hexa! To tell you actually Hexa has usable space in 3rd row when compared to the XUV's third row where the latter sucks big time and NIL bootspace in the XUV will definitely turn buyers into the Hexa which I probably suppose XUV is giving the numbers for Hexa.

Also the options of 4WD instead of AWD seems to have enthralled all the off road enthusiasts which might again be the reason for people actually considering Hexa over the XUV.

True but XUV has the edge of being a better city car thanks to lighter steering and compact size
