Mr. Ram an you explain what do you would like to say by this Does our Sedan's and Hatch will survive in Malanad

Malanad is forest and mountain range. Especially Mulliyanagiri, Kemmangudi are peaks in Western ghats. I remember a falls we went in 4X4 jeep after parking our cars. My question is, can we able to drive everywhere in our sedans/hatches?

I guess 90% of places can be travel by sedans/hatches. If you havn't visited Malanad, it is a beautiful and must visit place in Karnataka.

Hi Rekharam,

i believe we can cover almost all the tracks throughout in and around malnad. That shouldn't be a worrying factor.

My suggestion would be once we reach there we shall make an enquiry and get an idea about the road conditions and plan accordingly.

We shall meet at Shimoga and from there on we shall move to some places.

i dont know where is malnad can you people share the exact location of that place in google maps.
I have heard mulliyangiri and kammangudi please spot the place in google maps.

There is no specific place called malnad.

Its a collective location which covers the western and eastern slopes of western ghats.
In other words, its collection of Belur, horanadu, kudremukh, thirthahalli and agumbe.

I thought shimoga is the place that is very near and convinient for us to meet.

i have visited belur horanadu kudremukh and agumbe
but where is thirthali?
Shimoga good place i think.
somewhat small town with moderate priced accomadation.
a good place near shimoga is a place for visiting tigers and lions in open space taking us in thier forest vehicle.
Kodachadri nice place where we can do offroading and trekking.

This place sound more interesting than i thought. My last yr visit was through western guards including horanadu, kudremukh, thirthahalli and agumbe. But i just passed through these rds from hornadu to gokarna.
The drive was amazing with forest all the sides. Rd's is a concern not well maintained with about 20Km a very bad stretch.
Again, as i said this is a place worth to visit.

Sethu,

Slowly numbers are increasing, so now we need to freeze the dates I hope. Somehow it looks to me that we may be able to make it in Jan 2013 as after next 10 days 3 major festivals are lined up (Dussera, Diwali & Christmas) in next 3 months

Still our MH & KL members are silent. Of Course our members from Chennai-Bangalore meet are also silent. Come on friends please post your views here

How did i miss this thread?
I am in if its in Jan'13.
And if you guys are keen on going to Thirthahalli or Saklishpur i can check out for home stays as i know few of them and get a good deal.
