I guess Getting it from Mayapuri will be more pocket friendly if there are/were some models with company fitted tinted glasses [evil]
there's no need. for 2 reasons.

you have a swift right. its ac is powerful i'm assuming so any car will cool down in 2 minutes ,
how much do you think the glass will cost ? i don't have any idea.

just wait for 2 weeks , or a month at the max , people will again start adding tints and cops will ask for 200-300 at the most. so all will be back to the same as it was.

That's so stupid from the government to do so. atleast they should have approved 50%. What are they trying to do with making tints illegal here. They can't do anything with this rule and people who want to do wrong stuff they will still do it, whether they have tinted or non-tinted windows.

What SC needs to do is come out with some law that can bring all the black money to the country.
Fire all the DUMB and corrupt politicians and high rank officers.
Make gas prices lower in the country.
Control the DAMM inflation.
DO something for our Defense system without any GHOTALA'sss.

But they wont do that and will come with this stupid laws.

+1 to this

I would prefer Tint for safety reasons any day,it actually prevents road rage as people cant make eye contact with you & i am backing that 100%. Obviously you will add tint levels with what you are comfortable with,my mom finds vlt 35 perfect for her car & vision.
Come on i dont want people to take clear notice a lady is travelling alone in a car at night.
My Corolla is the first car in my home to get the windows tinted and that also removed yesterday itself(just 2 weeks).but we are comfortable every way.
Yes,tints help a lot but they have disadvantages too.
You may agree or not,but many crimes are done in tinted cars only.

I want to bring a recent incident of attempted theft ......car as i was hitting the highway.
From next time onwards carry money in form of drafts or carry some weapon.
We carry both..

How far have they.....advantages.
Heat rejection----efficient use of ac----less use of fuel------longer lasting fuel resource----lesser effect on global warming.
In other words, this step supports
Pollution
Global warming
Wastage of fuel
Increase unemployment (This step will drastically reduce the sale of sunfilm).
You have made a fantastic attempt buddy..but...this step supports:-
Pollution.
Global Warming.
Wastage of fuel.

But does not support politics..hence these steps are just a failure.

What if we install curtains in car ? Use when no one around, pull down when cop arrives [lol], something like this :-
Then either the driver will drive in Delhi or will be busy adjusting the curtains..

Right now I am enquiring about the glazed glass(black glass itself)for my car.
I think it won't work as good as the tints but it is allowed.Today will talk to Toyota guys about it.

There are some disadvantages of films too:
Now a days there are a lot of incidents like looting the car after making the occupants hostages in it,pick up-rape-throw away,kidnapping,murders,drugging/drinking in the moving cars and they all are done behind the tinted glasses only.
IN FACT IF MY CAR'S WINDOWS ARE HAVING DARK TINTS THEN I FIND IT UNCOMFY TO DRIVE ON HIGHWAYS DURING NIGHT TIME(my personal opinion)..

Re: Supreme Court Orders – No Sunfilms Allowed from 4th May 2012

Paragraph 26 of the order clearly states_

"The manufacturer of the vehicle may manufacture the vehicles
with tinted glasses which have Visual Light Transmission (VLT) of
safety glasses windscreen (front and rear) as 70 per cent VLT and side
glasses as 40 per cent VLT, respectively. No black film or any other
material can be pasted on the windscreens and side glasses of a
vehicle.
"

So its pretty clear, no kind of sun control film whatsover can be stuck on a vehicle, That feature has to be to be made by the manufacturer and through the glasses themselves.

I haven't discussed or have gone deep into the order at the moment. I will possibly get back to this in the evening as I will be out till late today.

In my personal opinion, It was fair to let people use films that weren't too dark to see through. Hope someone goes on an appeal to the order. I dont think they will just sit back anyways. No UV protection in the scorching sun can do a lot of damage to people and I dont think any car comes with UV protected tinted glasses.

Re: Supreme Court Orders – No Sunfilms Allowed from 4th May 2012

this morning was driving back home. to get onto the street i live at, i have to take right turn at the circle below the flyover and then take a left, what i always do is while coming to the circle below the flyover look right first and then left and proceed to the middle lane and then left lane and give the indication I'm taking a left turn. theres a traffic police station below the flyover at the same circle they were catching bikes with no helmets and cars without seat belts worn, the cop signaled me as i was getting in the middle lane and i pulled over wondering for what. i got out and he says lane cutting, i argued with him saying if i do it ahead it can be charged what do you expect me to keep on the right lane and then jump to the left ? At the same time a car with very black tints and a beacon passed he pushes me aside and salutes that guy from the right lane cut into the left lane in front of other cars. I questioned him, he smiles and says show me your dl, insurance and registration papers and go. Nothing about tints as yet.

Re: Supreme Court Orders – No Sunfilms Allowed from 4th May 2012

Paragraph 23 of the order_

In light of the above discussion, we have no hesitation in
holding that use of black films or any other material upon safety
glass, windscreen and side windows is impermissible. In terms of
Rule 100(2), 70 per cent and 50 per cent VLT standard are relatable to
the manufacture of the safety glasses for the windshields (front and
rear) and the side windows respectively. Use of films or any other
material upon the windscreen or the side windows is impermissible in
law.
It is the VLT of the safety glass without any additional
material being pasted upon the safety glasses which must conform with
manufacture specifications.

Forgot to mention, Curtains are also out of the question, Its clearly mentioned 'Use of films or any other material upon the windscreen or the side windows is impermissible.'

Why don't government passes rule saying that all cars should be roofless, Cars with roof are impermissible. :-).
That will surely reduce the crime rate exponentially[:D]

Re: Supreme Court Orders – No Sunfilms Allowed from 4th May 2012

In Delhi i didn't notice any cop challaning any one from Tilak nagar to Ashram chock around 8-9 AM today, i also didn't notice any cop or team as claimed by Delhi traffic police in yesterday's newspaper.

I found lots of car with dark tints on road today, may be traffic cops intentionally avoided peak hours.

I will adopt wait and watch policy, it's hard to imagine my car without tint that too in summers.

Saw this ad today on Delhi traffic police website
