Arree..Ek teer se do 'shikaar'
Manufacturers providing tints seems to be good idea. But then people will again crib why should they pay higher when they can get cheaper tints aftermarket way.
When it comes to Indian laws "Ek anaar sau bimar"

So now the situation is, if you are stopped by a cop and you have all the documents with you, license, RC book, insurance etc and if you have sunfilms on your car, even though extremely transperant. You have to pay the FINE no excuse.
If a cop doesn't stop you, in that case you can assume your sunfilms RTO approved, untill next time cop stops you for any reason. [:)]

I doubt that the challan is valid for three months. I can be three days IMO.

It is no way 3 months. It is just that day for Sun Films. Read on some posts. If they fine you and you are caught on next day, they can fine even a higher amount/take vehicle to custody or so. (do not remember exactly). If this is 100rs for 3 months, no one would have removed the sunfilms !

Whatever be the case, I'd strongly recommend to get the tints removed to prevent landing up in a more serious trouble.

A traffic cop had informed me they are supposed to get the tints removed on spot while issuing the challan. So that obviously is not for more than one day. I suggest you to immediately remove the tints :)

I'm afraid your Dad's wrong here. At the most you can tell the cops you were charged already and hope them to let you free if they catch you again on the same day. Come next day and if found in violation, you can get booked again and this time most probably, it wont end with a fine of just 100 rupees.

The Hon. Supreme Court of India banned the use of black films of any VLT percentage or any other material upon the safety glasses, windscreens (front and rear) and side glasses of all vehicles throughout the country with effect from 4th May, 2012.

The original text of the judgement can be found at: http://courtnic.nic.in/supremecourt/temp/wc 26511p.txt

[sarcasm] Why they are not removing? If they can go like that, we can also. We have the right. :) [/sarcasm]

Rules are for following. If someone puts right indicator to turn left, that is not to be followed by everyone.

These days, even government vehicle's tinted screens are removed in Bangalore (most of them).
Still see few cars with tinted and even few with real dark tinted.

Anyways,
