Re: Supreme Court’s Order – No Sunfilms Allowed from 4th May 2012

Finally, I have been ticketed for Sun Films yesterday... Guess, Bangalore Traffic Police is now awake. Being it 1st time, I was fined for Rs. 100 and asked to remove the films in couple of days.

BTW, after moving away from there, I was again caught @ Manyata. However, with the ticket, I was excused. Seems, I have couple of days with the same ticket...

I saw some more police today as well, in the same place where I was fined. Time to rip it off???

Sethu Sir,

I've removed Sunfilms before 3 months since I was fined Rs.100/- by the police men. For Removal I ended up in paying Rs.300/- which later I realized that the removal could have done by me and save money. I paid around Rs.5000/- for Suncontrol films and for removing I paid Rs.300/- and fine of Rs.100/- by the policemen. Common is being penalized more than anybody else in this country.

Lucky you, Sethu Sir..

The bus in which the recent rape incident took place in Delhi was having tinted sunfilms throughout. Is the sunfilms law only applicable to private vehicles and not the commercial ones? If yes, then why? Would anyone throw some light on this..

Hey guys, now i am also in the list of elite people here who have being challened for Rs. 100[lol]. Now thinking removing sun films but what is the solution after that. We have to use curtains then?

That rape incident is shame for society and such criminal minded people bending all the laws. After this incident we must follow the law. I think this law is applicable to all private as well as commercial vehicle. But till date poors like you and me are targated by law enforcers.[frustration]

As per Supreme court, any extent of tinting or using even curtains to cover the windows is not allowed. Why do you want to have a solution for tinting when you said yourself that we must follow the rule?

Oh! you misunderstood me. I was just talking about temperory solution when we travel in the noon when there is max temperature. Not sure only the curtains but newspaper or any cloth can be hanged on window glass just only to avoid direct sunrays coming in the cabin. If this is also against the law then we must stop using these temperory solutions.

Errrrr..Correct statement would be- people still using sunfilms even after sunfilm was banned.
My comment was in context to recent state of affairs ,the cruel incidents which happened in Delhi,Kerala,Bihar.
Those criminal activities could not be controlled even after Sunfilm was banned in cars.
Shame on our law system whom have no clue what they are doing and let public suffer scorching heat of India.

What I am saying is- even after sunfilms were banned, people were still using them and roaming freely. If there were no sunfilms on this bus, and if there is even a 1% probability that someone might have seen something abnormal happening inside the bus, the events might have not happened.
And in that case, the ban on sunfilms would have proved right. Isn't it?

I don't know why are you linking other incidents to tinting which are completely exclusive from it.

Guys, i wont comment much on the unfortunate incident which occured in Delhi. I agree that with no sunfilms, the incident could have got noticed by someone, however, i would just say that the Government should strengthen their system rather than enforcing such rules. And if such incidents are beyond the control of the administration (which is shameful), then i think as a responsible citizen, we will have to get the tints off our rides, because at the end of the day, the sufferer would be one of us.

PS: Guys, i request you all to kindly have a healthy debate since the matter is highly sensitive and i am sure you all understand that each individual will have different opinion on the subject[:)].
