Yeah jalex is right .
there is a myth that dark colour makes car much cooler.

Actually in day time , we cant get cold inside the car as in night as the sun heats the car in all the direction, esp the windows which are heated . but its just opposite in night.

Man that Civic is looking hot with those tints. I never knew a white ride could look so hot with that kind of tint.

I called Garware Aurangabad factory 3 days ago. Got the catalog. According to him ICECOOL SHIELD is the best for front with 70% VLT. as per him, the reflection will increase 2-3%, but the glare will reduce. I have i10 with light coloured dash and I am really confused now. i10's dash reflects in direct sunlight. Will fixing front film really help to reduce glare and dash?

Also he quoted me a price of 3100/-, while the dealers are still selling it for 2800/-

Need your suggestions urgently. Has anyone gone for front tint for his/her i10?

If u want the best and finest in films and can afford around 5-7k for the side glasses go for V-Kool, it gives you the best results, allthough this film is against law in India [anger] Exact model T-35 is best ........../t1/4433833_P1090820.JPG]Image
Thanks ∂נℓυν , i said i am on a budget so plannin in the range of 2-2.5k so i thing i may get garware ice cool at that price.

Dark tints are a real bad idea, Esp in the rains it worsens further.
Dark tints dont always make the car cooler on the inside. Most good quality light shades have U.V Block which keep the temperatures inside the car lower. Garware ice cool is one such brand and it keeps the insides cool and being a light shade is not a problem if there is U.V block and heat rejection as features of the sun control film.

@jalex do you know the cost of garware ice cool.
Does the cost depend upon the car?

It is the matter of fact , how much sun ray is avoided/ reflected back out.

Darker or lighter , both work as same.

They give different names for the products , with percentage marked on each film type. i think basic one has 45% heat rejection and max avail is 75%. Not sure though

Yeah , always a company will quote the mrp , and dealer will give less than mrp , by reducing there profit percentage.

Except windshield , If you need garware , go for the one the one in which the dealer gets as big role. its known as src material. but avail only in 4 colours i hope. they can cost as low as 1200/- or some times a 100 lesser.

@amiti & v ram
1) Garware Icecool Shield costs Rs 3000 typically. Can be a hundred more or less.
2) Garware Icecool is meant only for the front windscreen, not for the Sides and rear.
For the Sides & rear, look at the basic 3M sun film, which can set you back by Rs 2000.
My i10 has this combo, and it works real well. Cooling of the AC is much better with Icecool shield..

Thanks Arkin. I have zeroed down to Icecool Shield. However as mentioned to you, bit confused regarding the reflection of dash (increase or decrease after installation of front sunfilm) and glare during daytime.

If that's the problem, call some known person from an accessory shop, and ask if 3M windscreen lamination is any better than Gareware Icecool when it comes to dash reflection. I guess then it will be sorted out. However, the only downside is 3M costs a little over double the cost of Garware.

Guys, I've come to know that V-Kool and Lumar too offer front windscreen film at prices similar to 3M. Still doing my research. I guess these are worth a try. Will update soon.

I have Vkool Vk70 on side of my car. However didnt feel that effective. Hence thought of going for Icecool Shield as the difference of cost is exactly 9000/-.

The only hitch is regarding the increase/decrease in glare and reflection during the day.
