i gave him options of 20/25k plus phones for half the price but he does not want them.
he left out economical brands like micromax, karbon etc whose high end phones have the 3 things i mentioned to look in a phone coz of lack of snob value.
knowing RK, i think he has already made up his mind what he wants to buy, so my suggesting anything wont matter :)
wrt 7.5 bashing, i will leave it for some other time.

To get a better streamlined option RK sir please mention what you need in your next phone to be purchased.
If just for whatsapp then all smartphones will have it.
Other than that all smart phones will have integration with all the social networks.
You need a better camera look for the N8 or the Pureview from nokia.
You need a lot of apps look for android
in that you are not interested to try custom rom. It needs to be good enough out of the box.
Check for the experia series from sony.
They do not need much optimisation out of the box.
There is a lot of options in the experia range itself.
But asking all the good things in your limited budget not to forget from a good renowned brand is an impossible task.
Because there is a reason why a flagship model from samsung costs upwards of 30k and still sells like hot cakes.
You need everything in that budget get ready for some compromises.

Sir Exactly , this was the precise reason I told him buy a lumia 610 because in his budget it offers everything which he needs out of the box .
You can very well suggest him a good brand new android phone in 10-12k which can offer
decent 5 mega pixel camera with flash ,
free offline voice guided turn by turn navigation ,
good email client ,
and fantastic social integration in the OS itself .
Microsoft office ( word, PowerPoint , excel )
and
8gb memory on board ( 6.50 usable) .
Infact I told him to buy the new recently htc android forgot the name but its for 22 k ,then Sony Miro , then lg L5 he said he dint like the resolution when he spoke on the phone and only suggested him lumia 610 after knowing his requirements and budget limitations and not because my wife bought one , because 610 is the last phone I suggested him you can confirm with him .

what about the does it have sound enhancements ?
i guess we cannot downlod pdf and some certain file types on WP.
but i guess 610 will get WP 7.8 update( now 7.5). will this solve the bluetooth file transfer problem?

So these are the phones coming in that category since you don't want any India/low end brands. Based on your requirements, it can be again shortlisted!

What do you mean by sound enhancements ? . And also you can read PDF files , adobe PDF reader is free in windows market place too.
Beside that word, excel , PowerPoint is already installed in every windows phone .
And yes in 7.8 update in jan it will have BT transfer too.
