are you comfortable with mint / used phones imported from US. thou this forum is for cdma but nowdays all global phones work both for gsm/cdma and people are importing and selling gsm phones too.

Desire C has very weak processor that is 600MHz single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM7225A chipset, Cortex A5 CPU, 512MB RAM, Adreno 200 GPU
Go for dual-core Cortex A8 or A9 with Mali 400 Gpu phone like xperia U if want to buy android.

I bought a white nokia lumia 610 for my wife for 11,800rs .white colour .excellent camera in its class 5 mega pixel with flash , nokia drive , nokia music , Microsoft office , nokia maps , Xbox live .

Gurralla I will make pics of various applications which come inbuilt in nokia lumia 610 and post pics tommorow and also sample pics clicked by the phone in night and daytime .

congrats on new buy, What is the screen size difference between HTC desire C and Lumia 610, I think it is very less.
Most of my friends said that using a flash in the night for phone camera is not very much required ?? they say all the 5MP phones normally have night mode and pics will be good when some lighting is available

@Tenida, I have read lot of user reviews on that, where most of them say though it is 600mhz it is really powerful like 1hz processor, please go thru' some reviews.

@Nitin, those seconds deals looks very interesting, but the problem is I never bought a seconds item in my life so far and I think I will never buy in future too, it is because of my personal policy and mind set I hope

Just a suggestion . Do not go blindly for the brands.
There is gsmarena where you could get all the specs of the phones.
Check around flipkart for prices for phone In your budget. Do a comparo for specs for those phones.

you may use anything but that does not mean there can be nothing better than that.

wrt features u posted -
we have google maps for travelling / and many paid apps like sygic etc etc
RK saw a live demonstration of sygic (which do not require internet access) while i dropped him back at his hotel.
whatsapp / skpye / viber blah blah are all on android as well.

how cud nokia release a phone with no bluetooth
u may say wait for 7.8 , but till then
we can go on and on and we will still be moving in circles. I have used windows phone and can say android ICS & JB are miles ahead. I am yet to see windows 8 and my decision may change once i lay my hands on it.




i have not used HTC desire C but I will give u a small suggestion wrt android
1) get a phone running atleast ICS or which has gotten an ICS update, mostly phone providers give 2 updates at most, so you may get JB update which is better on battery and much faster.
2) processor - your handset should have atleast 1GHz processor. This will ensure your phone does not lag or slow down.
3) U may want to save on a camera and knowing your fetish for pictures, get atleast a 5 mp camera phone.

Boss did I say there is nothing better around ? I said in his given budget there are not good android phones as simple as that .

In his given budget tell me which android phone works as fast and fluid like a windows phone 7.5 ?

Have you used windows phone 7.5 as a demo ?

And you have a paid app right ? The same kind of app nokia drive is lifetime free and works without Internet too .

Show me 1 phone with a good decent camera with flash and latest android ICS or jelly bean In Gurralla s budget .

Superbad has played enough with my lumia 800 in our meet he can tell how fast and fluid it is .

the sellers there sell different kind of phones, if its a new, you will be told so, mint means like new and then there is used category.

the phones which get imported as mint or used are mostly those guys who got a new phone under contract and did not return their old phone or were stolen or lost. These have bad esn and do not work in USA. but in the rest of the world work like a charm. Since they are imported and have their companies logo eg ATT or verizon , sprint etc, u tend to get them at much lower price as compared to showroom price.

i do understand you do not want to buy such a phone but let me tell you there is no risk in buying such handsets and using them here in india.

There are difference of interest and like somebody always like Maruti and somebody feels it as crap and some body likes Honda and some fellow says it is useless. sir ,I buying a phone for my wife has nothing to do with this forum and o going gaga over a phone is a least thing I will do . I asked your point of view infact which phone in 12k gives you a decent camera with flash ,free turn by turn navigation which works offline ,very tight email, social integration support ?
Microsoft has discarded the OS? If yes them why are they bringing 7.8 update ? The os will be supported till 2017.

And windows 8 phone is costing 35k I will be glad to suggest that but gurralla has strictly mentioned his budget 10-12k and given his requirements I suggested lumiq 610 . This is a public forum so pls feel free to suggest him a phone in 10-12 k taking his requirements in consideration.

5 Reasons why I would buy this phone
Disclaimer :I am pretty much an android user for 2 years, which makes my review little aggressive. Any android fan boys out there please don't be offended.

1.I get Windows Phone OS with all the apps I need ,I don't need my phone just to have angry bird or talking tom ,what I need is quality apps which work for me. Facebook and Twitter and all other social sites integrated into the OS (so I don't have to do to marketplace install their apps which doesn't help much :D ) will save lot of time going through apps and figuring out what's new in all of them.

Guys why do you need so much apps in market ? are you gonna install 100000+ apps in your phone ?? Are you kidding ?

2. In built Outlook Mobile Client: I have an android tablet which I use as my alarm. yeah its good for just that. When I already spent enough on a tab/smartphone why would I not get a world class Email client or browser? Trust me, the default Email Active sync do not sync folders I have specified on my outlook nor google has a concept of giving regular update. Cannot blame them for the fact their vendors messed it all. So I will be forced to Buy Email clients like "TouchDown" which I found the only app giving a good professional Email sync.
In Case of Windows Phone we get the outlook mobile itself present, and I get to see all my meetings on the start screen. I get complete office mobile version which is an added bonus .

3. Nokia build quality: The screen resolution is awesome for this price. I will tell you why I feel that. I recently gifted someone an android phone when nokia did not have 710 or 610 available it cost me around 9.5k, from Samsung. The screen resolution is so bad that I can see the pixels in them :D. This model has soft key which even Lumia 710 does not have. I would say this phone would have cost 15k-17k if this was released 1 year before. And this looks to have Gorilla Glass.

4.Camera : Agree they don't give you a VGA(oldddd technology) front cam. However at this price there aren't much phone who will give 5MP cam with LED flash. Am I talking like a nokia sales man? well I have a Samsung Galaxy S, much celebrated phone from the Apple rivals.. they don't have a flash for their camera. Nor does their 15k phone Galaxy Ace has it... guess what.. an entry level Windows Phone from Nokia has it..

5. Fits my budget: I would not spend on 40k iphone to show off. I am happy to spend for something fits my needs and this phone does it and covers my work and social life.


FEW THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE BUYING A WINDOWS PHONE 7.5!!!
Okay,this review would primarily focus on the huge shortcomings of windows phone in general.
(p.s - I have used the lumia 610 and as a phone,its good in its price range. Build quality is good and looks vibrant. It has got a 3.7 inch screen with 480x800 res.,which is rare for a 12k handset)

Now,I have used windows phone and these were the basic limitations I observed which i believe shouldn't exist if i buy a phone above 12k(since none of the windows phone cost below 12k)

- it doesn't have a mass storage mode,so if you dont have zune installed on your computer,you wont be able to connect your phone to your computer to transfer files.(and since you require windows vista and above for zune,those of you who use xp have got a problem.)

- Zune will only transfer photos, videos & music.other files like documents have to be emailed to yourself.

- It doesnt allow file transfer bluetooth!! You can just use bluetooth to connect 2 a bluetooth headset.

- You cant just use any desired MP3 file as ringtone!!!(WTF!) MP3 file must be less then 40 seconds in length,less than 1mb in size and without DRM protection(DRM-digital rights management,i.e you cant save an mp3 downloaded form nokia music with protection even if you have paid for the song.)

- You cannot send videos in MMS!!

- You cannot charge your phone when it is off.

- Wi-fi disconnects when screen sleeps. So if u start a download and leave it idle for a while,download would stop.

- you cant save contacts to SIM card.

- you can only attach photos in email,but not documents.(kind of lame,even when it allows to edit ms office documents)

- another very irritating drawback is,it wont recognise phone numbers in sms,so if someone messages u a no.,you wont b able to save it or call!! U memorise it and then save it as new contacts!

- U cant close music player,only pause. Music player on lockscreen will stay until you switch off and restart phone.(Be careful not to touch it in a classroom or meeting etc.)

- If you receive a sms when talking on the phone, if full volumw is set,a very loud audio alert will blast your ear!!(all other phones will give a soft beep.)

- It doesnt support flashplayer(even if you buy a very expensive windows phone and your phone has the hardware for it!)

These are just some basic problems one would notice after starting to use a windows and would miss some very very essential features that you would expect to get with even a very modest phone. There are a lot more(just search the web for shortcomings of windows phone 7.5)

windows phone doesn't need high ram like android to run fast since the os is optimized to run on low configuration too.
