Androids has the fun when goes around installing custom roms.

The fun one gets to customise is there in androids, to unlock hidden features and many such aspects complete the android experience.

If you are not into that kind i would suggest you to opt for a nokia lumia or something in sony the neo v.
They are much better phones overall and you wont be disappointed with any of them.

Agree with Superbad. Pantech Burst can put any of the phone under 16K to shame. I suggested this phone to Jihu, but as his budget is super tight at 10K, he ignored it.
And Micromax isn't bad as you think. They make phones with some decent specs by which people can easily afford. A110 is really a great phone at it's price. And as Superbad said, if you don't want the Android experience, you should go for the Lumia 610 with eyes closed. It'll give you the best browsing, e-mail, documents view.
Defy+ has got some awesome awesome awesome dev. support i.e you'll be able to taste the new Android versions (Unofficial). It's 11K at Tradus.
BTW go check out A110, heard it's build quality is great.

Most of the Androids didn't even get the ICS update while JellyBean is released(4.2). Then will you say that phone is outdated?

win 8 is going to the main thing. no win 8 in your phone, ur life is a waste ( only applicable to win phone users) :p:

am not a windows phone fan but i liked windows 8. The reviews and videos of surface made me look up to a windows phone after ages. The last windows phone i used was HTC Touch Diamond and after that it has been all android.

and it does not matter what android OS your android phone has. If your processor is good , you can put any ROM as long as your ready to root your phone.

Ok, it is clear that I am not looking for more and more applications to use, but

A speed and good internet browser experience, reasonably good camera with flash

Good amount of internal/external space

Pdf,word,excel document reader and attach facility

With the above scenario

HTC desire C and Lumia 610, then which is best in this lot or any other thing can be looked into.

I am sorry but, I my heart do not accept for Micromax,Lava,Celcon,Spice etc.,

A speed and good internet browser experience, reasonably good camera with flash

Good amount of internal/external space

Pdf,word,excel document reader and attach facility

With the above scenario

HTC desire C and Lumia 610, then which is best in this lot or any other thing can be looked into.

Go in croma play with htc desire c and lumia 610 you will yourself know which is more fast , which has a better camera , which has the best integration of social networking sites, email and office .

Boss iam using windows phone 7 since last year even before nodo update came , and my life has been wonderful I have 7.5 now and will get 7.8 update shortly and it does everything wonderfully fast . The entire expreince is fluid , extremely easy to use and has best in class social integration , excellent email support , Xbox live , Microsoft office and since I have a nokia lumia 800 I have lifetime free turn by turn voice guided navigation for almost all countries , nokia music free unlimited download and many other free apps like viber , what's app , Skype what else one needs ?

Gurralla are you wanting too or have time in life to flash roms on your phone ? Or you want a phone which you can straight away use which is fast and fluid and easy to use ?

HTC Desire C or Nokia Lumia 610 or anyother in this range as already the prices of these mobiles exceeded my original budget of Rs.10000/- so while suggesting any other model brand please keep this in mind

Again I shortlist my needs

Good touch screen operation
Android/Windows
Good internet browser speed
I do not use to many applications, hence it is not a big deal, but I want to use a GPS with voice like the one I have seen with Nitin_K mobile during my delhi trip
Good battery back up
Bit bigger screen between 3.5 to 4"
Good Camera with flash, means should be able to take reasonably good night pics
My present phone is Wave 525, so now compare and tell me which is better
I want this phone to be used for some time and not to change soon

you may use anything but that does not mean there can be nothing better than that.

wrt features u posted -
we have google maps for travelling / and many paid apps like sygic etc etc
RK saw a live demonstration of sygic (which do not require internet access) while i dropped him back at his hotel.
whatsapp / skpye / viber blah blah are all on android as well.

u may say wait for 7.8 , but till then
we can go on and on and we will still be moving in circles. I have used windows phone and can say android ICS & JB are miles ahead. I am yet to see windows 8 and my decision may change once i lay my hands on it.

i have not used HTC desire C but I will give u a small suggestion wrt android
1) get a phone running atleast ICS or which has gotten an ICS update, mostly phone providers give 2 updates at most, so you may get JB update which is better on battery and much faster.
2) processor - your handset should have atleast 1GHz processor. This will ensure your phone does not lag or slow down.
3) U may want to save on a camera and knowing your fetish for pictures, get atleast a 5 mp camera phone.

Desire c is not having flash plus has a fixed focus camera .
