Sorry for making you irritated with this thread which ran into so many pages.. Yes all these 30+ pages are filled with lot of useful information on the forum and makes some bodies life easy in future with this info.

This thread is interesting to read and could be of use to some one.

I am also looking for a mobile phone and my requirements are basic.

Like you said, for my needs, I would like to go for VFM and it's ideal if it is within the budget you have indicated.

However, I am ready to spend 50K or even 1 lac if it is a real awesome product with features I am looking for. But the fact is there are no such phones in the market.

When I was a teenager (in the 80s), imagined about a stylish and compact hand held or palm held device which would help in listening to my favourite songs while on the move on the touch of a button and wished somebody would offer me as a gift. Decades later saw i pod which was almost similar to my childhood dream but lost interest in such a device by that time.

Request you to continue your posts. For those who don't like this have always got an option to ignore this thread.

Finally I found members are interested towards this thread, I am glad for that

Friends, please try and understand the reason for a thread in a forum, If I write very crisp and select from 1,2,3 options offered by few members, then a thread is not required as it can be done by going to a shop or reading online reviews, BUT

Here in TAI the greatest positive is most of the members come out with their best real time suggestions and make us learn too many new things about either it is phone or a car, that is where it adds value to the forum with a thread. Just imagine a new bee want to buy a phone and search this thread, he will get lot of information about mobiles and their technology etc., which is really good and thanks to all those members who have posted some valuable information on mobiles.

To be very frank with you, before starting this thread I really do not know

1. What is a OS and how it works and which OS offers what
2. What is the importance of a processor, single core, dual core, what is mhz and ghz
3. What is the GPS, uses of it and lot of things like offline, online
4. What is screen quality, how to read the pixel rate
5. What is meant by applications, uses of them, how do they effect the battery
6. What is a good camera means, how to understand it, why do we need a front camera
7. What is the internal space, how much it is available for us, how does it plays a roll
8. What is a SD card, mini SIM
9. What types of OS are there, believe me I never new somany OS names like GB,ICS,JB before starting this thread, what is meant by an upgrade to OS
10. What is meant by rooting, how does it effect a phone
11. Phones in international market(like pantech burst etc.,) what is a contract means in other countries, how a phone is free from contract, unlocking

So many so many things, and my hearty thanks to all of you making me learn so many things about the mobile world, yes it is a big world all together

i can understand what gurrula's going through these days. i too want a phone in the same budget but well obviously won't spend like that.

many are recommending micromax , maybe when he personally check the phone his views will change. but the main point is it should get launched.

all the other phone everybody's recommending are a year old and or out of budget. i won't go for a year old phone or even second hand. i don't directly reply to all members here but since this is gurrula's thread he has to reply to each and everyone. everyone has different recommendations.

1st quarter is not the best time to buy a phone because all the phones are launched in 2-3 quarter.

he is not in a hurry since 620 is not launched.

when 620 is launched officially, even the budget could be stretched if its above 15k , or else it will be bought regardless.

Nobody has chained anyone to this thread. Everyone have option to ignore the thread. OP can run this thread for a year then can buy a second hand nokia 3310. It's his choice. If some one wants give suggestion and if bored than ignore the thread.

There is so many things to learn in this thread for people who don't know anything. Anyways, I am still glued to the thread.

Ok, since few of our members said I will definitely going to buy Lumia 620 for sure(at this moment it is difficult to answer this question, but it is good then why not). Since it has not released so far and we only have some predicted price of some 15K. For a while we think that is the price, then how you look at it with its configuration will be a VFM or not, can it be eligible to consider in the lot of not as I would like to know the reasons to reject it out-rightly ?? among Android phones where I have learnt from this thread and other threads too that it just eats away battery quickly with lot of applications in the back ground which are not important for us many times.

Samsung S3 mini is also expected to launch in Feb'2013, the specifications looks to be very impressive, but pricing needs to be seen, it looks like 15k+

S3 mini is very nice phone, we are expecting it for around 19 to 21k but not sure.
I used it for some time even played some games at my office.
It got super almo led display

Ill pick S3 mini here since this phone is faster and smarter of all, good hardware spec with 1Ghz Dual core NOVA THOR plus 1GB RAM,
4inch Super AmoLED Display helpful in bright sun light,
Internal 8gb storage.
S3 like design and lite construction.,
Camera with led flash.
GPU mili 400 2nd the best in market.

S3 mini and S advance are from same DNA

My picking Order will be as below

S3->S ADVANCE -> S DUOS in Android line-up

if it is only windows phone then I will consider 620/510/820

As I said before windows have no flexibility like IOS/ANDROID.
