Re: Suggest a New Android Phone Around 15k

Rooting the handset and flashing back to factory rom is not that much of a tast, initially one feels to brick the handset or warranty issue, its a simple procedure to flash roms and to root the handset as well.
As superbad said many online support available regarding the same, and factory reset would get back to what you originally had on your handset whenever one feels to go to authorised service station of the handest.

Friends,

Since there is no information so far from Nokia on 620 launch, the issue is back to square one now, what to buy[cry], so considering last 24 pages of discussion, advises, my requirements, please start with fresh suggestion from now and try and keep the budget as low as possible between 10 to 15k[:)]

Totally agree, BUT..
If you are advanced user yes, it is simple. I am about 10 years with smart phones, I am one of the proud owner of first ever phone with PDA. I even developed software on windows mobiles. But frankly I did have some 'frightening' moments wrt rooting and with custom roms(never bricked any [evil])

But point I am trying to make is, moment you root your phone you are out of warranty. Yes you can un-root, but what if the OS does not load to the recovery? Or if there is a hardware issue, you may not be unroot. Also by rooting you open up and unlock the whole system area where you could do lot of good things along with lot of harm too. So my advice is if you are first time user (RK in this case) I advice not to look for 'Root' options atleast for couple of months till he gets used to it.
BTW I rooted my SG2 third day [evil]

OK back to RK..guys..[;)]
First lets fix OS for him...
OS

1. Windows 8 (Pretty much like computer you used. good integration with office applications and now WM8 as sensation to have)
2. IOS (Very simple among all the OSs, not much of customization available, pricey, but proud to own US product, look cool)
3. Android: (Probably most versatile, unlimited customization and over enthusiastic developer community, unlimited apps availability)

So RK first you choose the OS, others may also suggest..
Then we take next step.

Yes well from above and with the current usage what RK said, i would suggest him, regular callings with frequent mails and internet why not WN8 handset, new platform, pretty much like our computer with improvements that would be seen in coming time.
To experience more vide customization with more wide range of handsets available go for android.

Hmm,

People are back to room, good.

Indian, See can post the requirements and needs which I have already posted in the thread in many places, so this is the biggest to task to select the OS for me as I am new to all those 3 OS mentioned by you. But IOS is may not fit in my budget, so now left with 2 types there.

Finally I am looking for a VFM phone and not a savvy of to many fancy applications and applications to kill the time. I am for to the sensible and useful applications in day to day personal life or business life.

I am open for any OS which will suit my requirements and along with that I look for a good quality camera with flash, I am a pics freek wherever I am and not ready to carry a digital cam for the same

In my business usage context, I would like to throw out my photon plus for internet connection(I have disconnected it already) and now I would also like to stop carrying my laptop for the mails and internet purposes and even look forward to use wifi on mobile to do some presentations if required(for this I think I need more storage space).

I look for a nice in built voice assisted GPS(good if it comes for free) would love to use those options which show me where I am and what is around me(like a cinema, hotel, mall, finding new addresses) this is useful more on travel and out side my home city.

I need reasonable processor speed, good pic quality, considerably good video quality, good battery back up, good internet speed with 2G first, easy to use TAI, down load and read documents from mails which are in different formats like pdf, jpeg, word, excel, should be able to send replies easily.

I like to go for a reputed brands like samsung, nokia,lg,sony etc., if FM radio is there I love that as I use it when I am away from my place.

I like little bigger display screens, my present one is 3.2inch

I like bit sleek phones than bulkier ones, and I always do not like more curvy things and I love the simple rectangular shapes. Little curve in the corners is okay.

I am concerned about low SAR values and radiation effects

Hope I made my requirements clear, but may be they look like bit stupid again[:)]

+1

First look at WM8 platforms available
If want to be adventurous then android.

RK let us know, you may wait for others too if want to pitch in suggestions.

Looks like you want to have a android phone please confirm.
Any phone you are checking first see if upgrade to ICS or JB available, one you pointed says GB. Of course you might be able to upgrade custom roms etc. But availability of the upgrade is crucial, it certifies that hardware is compatible and capable of running higher version.

Re: Suggest a New Android Phone Around 15k

So, First priority: WP8, the best bet for you Gurrala, I've told this you many times.
Phone: Lumia 620

My suggestion would be to wait this whole month and if then it didn't release, look forward to get it from any of your friends abroad. And if you are not ready for that, just forget it.
Second priority: Android.
Phone(s): Nothing now.
I heard somewhere that you can afford an LG Optimus L9, if it's true, go for it with your both the eyes closed! ;)

(Will suggest you more later, but ATM L620 and L9 are the best to live with.)

BTW thanks Dharmesh, Indian and Allhyundaicars. :)

+10000, I agree with you

WP8 : L 620 , I am already waiting since last 3 months and is it really justified to wait for a simple phone months together[frustration]

Android: If JB is the latest one , then I should go with a phone which has latest JB isn't it ?? LG L9 is a wonderful phone, but sightly above my budget and service support is poor.

But I am not really tempted to go with something just like that, I think I still have some patience left to continue the discussion before I buy that magical mobile phone[lol]

@Indian, I did not say WP or Android with that, I have just found in browsing and felt to check with you people
