Hi @cooldhaya:I would suggest go in for Blaupunkt GTA4 4channel amplifier costing about 6k approx + 2 x JBL subwoofer's Rs.5.5k sealed box - Rs.1800/- rest you can keep for wiring/installation and a small 2channel amp to boost up your spealers.

According to the Sony website a Sony Mono Amp costs 9K (8990 to be precise) But cooldhaya has a budget of 18K and that it self is the cost of 2 Sony Mono Amp.What about the price of the Subs?? Enclosure? and Most Importantly the wiring??

oh , i made a error. Noon i was so hungry so i typed out wrong.

two 2 channel amps were installed. model - zr6022.
2 jbl subs in wooden enclosure ,
2 wiring kits.

Bill was rounded off to 17000/-

after you left yesterday , we fixed sub for 3 cars. just only sub , no other sales till now.

ok coming to topic ,

i am not a ICE guru , in learning stage.

the other car was swift with same one 2 channel amp and Sony 1300 watt sub)
the head unit was alpine 2 din , no idea about the model
they insisted sony just as it was 1300 watt.
whats the use when the amp is 350 watt?

the next was a accent , there alpine amp packed up , in a tour they poured water unknowingly. so changed it to 2 channel sony , same model.

ok the next car today morning, the best one ,
it was a scorpio. a local politicians son's car.
a 3150 dvh from pioneer.
zr 3301 -mono block from sony
it has a max output of 1100 w. and had numerous option.
First time i myself seeing this amp and liked it much.
the sub was from sony too - L1262P5 . believe me it was so rocking.
they are planning to change the head unit to a sony dvd one with 5.1 output. still they are discussing. i left the place now.

i run home now
just to type this in tai!

ilango, please do not ever see the maximum watt of any watt. It is the rms power which is important.

oh and btw did the scorpio have a 4 channel for the speakers? if yes, can you explain, how you wired the 2 amps.

and about the sony mono , it was installed first time in the store. so till now its the best. accept there may be better amps but regarding the cost factor and avaiilibility in this city 2 channels and 4 channel move fast.

let me get training in the Ice once i set up of performance and mod store of my own. I am expecting the training in feb. After that only i can be like say ' crystal clear'

and about his verna , splitter was used as he has already 4 speakers installed.

Hey sorry for the late update guys!! As my semester hols have started i have started roaming in my ride a lot!! Well coming to the speakers i fixed it at Ilango's place , They carried the work well and finished it as soon as possible!! Rounded off the bill to 17k finally!! Am a noob in these stuff so all technical queries can be targeted at Ilango!! I purely wanted subs for show-off purpose , so opted for 2 subs!! The thump effect is so good but as its placed in the boot its hardly heard outside!! I have to increase the volume to make the thump effect to be heard outside for a good few metres!! IMO dont go for 2 subs!! My friends sitting in the rear complained that the effect is too much for the rear seat!! Totally am satisfied with his work and the sound quality also!! But though some little tweaks are required!! I came to know that the sound quality increases if a better HU is used!! Am having only a base HU from PIONEER with an aux-in port only!! So looking to change the HU in few months and enhance the sound quality!! Now i have some more queries which i will post here soon!!

@ Zinam Though Ilango was not available in the shop , his labours recognised my car and started greeting me!! They did a great job in fixing the speakers!! I have placed them in my Boot so the thump effect wont be heard outside much if the boot is closed!! And yeah hope nothing happens to my car coz of 2 subs!!

@ Renegade I asked at a few shops here in chennai and everybody said that sony amps are the best!! They said only sony HU needs very careful maintenance but sony amps are very reliable!! Lets wait and see though how it fares in my car!!

Hey guys now my queries!!

1.I have seen many cars with the thump effect heard for a long distance!! That is for instance when they are atleast 50m away itself!! How is this acheived?? Is it because my subs are placed in the boot they are not heard out louder??

2. Will the sound quality and thump effect increase if i upgrade my HU to a better and new model??

3.In some songs the woofer effect seems to be overshadowing the song itself!! i end up hearing only the thump effect sometimes . Any solutions for this??

I can spend some more but not now itself , I will be kicked outside my house!!

Hope what i have spent now doesn go waste and some tweaks can be done to the exsisting setup!!

Hey Ramie i seriously wish you had joined here a few weeks before!! Your ICE setup looks super cool!! It would have been nice if you were here to help me and Ilango!! I saw your post only after upgrading my ICE!! Looking to some suggestions from your side for my ICE!!

Ok the main culprit here is the headunit.You'll have to change your headunit to a 2/3 RCA as Abhinav had advised earlier.

The shops at which you were said that "Sony are the Best" is the shops you should never visit for any ICE related queries/upgrades.

From the picture you have posted i can see that both the subs are different, one looks like the JBL CS 1215( on the left) and the other looks like it is extracted from the JBL 1215T( the one on the right).

The sub casings are different in size, i can see a port on the right one (on the top).Confirm this dhaya.

About point no 1, it all depends on the installation and the tuning( a good HU is a must here).

2)From my experience, only a headunit change can drastically change the way a music system sounds.

3)You'll be having this problem because you can't control the sub from the Headunit.

A headunit is the heart of ICE, headunit is the first thing you should have upgraded.

Abhinav the monoblock was installed in a scorpio and not the verna.
Currently in the verna its 2 subs powered by 2 amps and all 4 speakers powered by the Headunit.
