Brainwavz has been trying to make waves in the Indian market over the past year or so. This little known brand offers a wide variety of headphone, across price points and audio capabilities. The latest from the brand is the Brainwavz S1, in-ear headphones that promise rich bass and details.

The Brainwavz S1 looks a bit different from regular in ear headphones because this comes with an all-metal casing and has slightly angled ear plugs. The cables are tangle-free flat and the company touts its remote — compatible with both iOS and Android — as one of the best other there.

The Brainwavz S1 comes with a large combination of tips to fit all types of ear canals. You will need this as I found it a bit of a challenge to find the perfect pair for me, one that holds these heavy plugs in place.

This is the one small design flaw I found with the set, that it is a bit on the heavier side and the plugs start becoming loose after a bit. With the original tips, the left earphone kept popping out. So this is not the best option for people looking for something to supplement an active lifestyle.

The Brainwavz S1 is clearly for those who like to stretch out on the sofa to listen to a Chopin or Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. The 10mm driver and all-metal casing lend itself for music that is clear and deep with detail. This is for who like a lot of clarity, ideally while listening to vocals. I am not sure the bass-hungry Bollywood junkies will enjoy this a lot, because it does get a bit tinny at times.

The remote is a big plus point for this set. The mic gives great clarity for those on the other side. Also, the remote works seamlessly on all types of smartphones.

Should you buy?
The Brainwavz S1 is a decent option, but not the best. It needs to be better to really command this premium when it comes to price. There are better options out there. Buy this only if you want a bit of style and are partial to vocal music.

Skullcandy launches Ink’d Wireless headphones in India for Rs 3,999

Priced at Rs 3,999, the Ink’d Wireless is a variant of the Ink’d headphones. Skullcandy says that Ink’d Wireless headphones deliver up to seven-hours of battery life. According to the company, the earbuds are lightweight and slim enough to wear beneath clothing or carry in your pocket.

“Ink’d Wireless will continue our mission to launch headphone in style that change users expectations of Bluetooth product’s aesthetics and acoustic performance in India,” founder and CEO of Brandeyes Distributors Amlan Bhattacharjya said.

Sandisk Connect Wireless 200 GB.

Sometimes a 32GB flash drive storage isn't enough, you need a 64GB one. Sometimes a 64GB offering isn't enough, and you need 200GB. When you need 200GB, you will want to have a look at SanDisk's latest offering. The company on Friday announced the launch of 200GB SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick in India. It is available for purchase from Amazon India at Rs. 9,990.

Initially launched in select regions at CES 2016, the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick is an addition to company's existing Connect Wireless lineup. The lineup previously maxed out at 128GB storage option for the top model. The American storage company, which was recently acquired by Western Digital, says the new model also offers improved transfer speeds.

Creative Launches New Headset in India at Rs 10,999

New Delhi: Creative Technology has launched a new Aurvana ANC headset with noise-cancellation feature. The headset has been designed for users to comfortably enjoy long hours of music, movies or games, says the company.

Priced at Rs 10,999, the new headset will be available in India from August.

Explaining the technology powering the headset, Creative Technology says, "The Aurvana ANC utilises especially designed built-in microphones embedded in both ear cups to dynamically monitor the levels of external ambient noise entering the ear. The headphone then intelligently cancels out the external environmental noise so users can enjoy the desired audio coming from the headphone."

The headset comes with a braided audio cable with inline microphone for music controls and phone calls.

Sony announces rugged portable HDD RAID drives for professional 4K video recording

Sony has announced two new ultra-fast, rugged portable HDD RAID drives in India. The rugged drives are aimed at professional needs involving 4K production and on location fast data transfer.

Sony RAIDs – PSZ-RA4T (4TB) and PSZ-RA6T (6TB) – promise read/write speeds of up to 440MB/s. The Sony RAID drives also come with faster USB 3.0 and dual Thunderbolt2 ports for connectivity and data transfer. The dual Thunderbolt ports support daisy chain up to 6 units, compatible with Windows and Mac PC. Sony says flexibility is further enhanced with support for hardware RAID 0, RAID 1 or JBOD modes.

Sony’s Pro RAID HDD is fully compatible with the ‘Memory Media Utility’ application which offers various management functions. The media management software displays device information like capacity and mode, free disk space and disk status check. With Memory Media Utility, users can view device type and model name, file system and recording mode including available recordable time. Kent RO launches car air purifier with HEPA filter for Rs 7,999

Kent RO Systems has announced the launch of in-car air purifiers, the Kent Magic Car Air Purifier. The in-car purifier will be priced at Rs 7,999. According to the company Kent Magic is capable of removing allergens, viruses, dust, odors, chemicals and other pollutants from the car. The purifier features a HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Arrestor) dust collecting technology, with an inbuilt ionizer to keep the air fresh.

In addition to the HEPA filter, Kent Magic car purifiers come equipped with carbon filters that help neutralise unpleasant odors. Kent claims that the filter will eliminate 99 per cent of fine particles (PM 2.5) and toxic gases from your car.

Commenting on the launch this innovative product Dr. Mahesh Gupta, Chairman, KENT RO Systems Ltd., said, “We set out to create a product that enables a healthy and comfortable air environment even on the go. In India, the typical car commuter spends more than 5-6 hours a day sitting in his car, stuck. Since vehicular emissions and in-car pollution contribute heavily to air pollution as well as several health hazards, this smart device can effectively diminish the impact of air pollution.”

The Kent Magic works on a 12V car charger socket, with a noiseless operation. Kent already has HEPA based home air purifiers in the market – the Kent Eternal and the Kent Aura. In addition, Kent has an air pollution monitor that can measure the PM 2.5 in a room.

Other companies that have car air purifiers in the market include Philips, Honeywell, Newtronics and more.

The company recently launched Kent Aura Air Purifier with HEPA technology for rooms. Kent says their HEPA filter can get rid of PM 2.5 particle, which are seen as the most dangerous pollutants. In our review, the Air Quality indicator showed the Kent Air Purifier took around half an hour to bring the PM2.5 level down from 400 to 200 in a closed room.

Portronics has launched a two-way anti-lost cum key-finder called Tring. Tring will help a user keep track of valuables that have a tendency of being misplaced like phone, wallets, car keys, etc. This device will also allow you to keep a check on the whereabouts of your young children or pets, in case they wander off at a park or a shopping mall.

Tring is a multi-purpose device with a key-finder function and a remote-camera shutter function. You can connect to Tring using an Apple or an Android phone using the “Tring Track” app. It pairs with the phone via Bluetooth 4.0 (low energy).

After pairing with smartphone, you just need to attach Tring to any of your valuables like wallet, key-chain, or handbags using the Key Finder function. Now, if you misplace any of these articles, you just need to press a button in “Tring Track” app of your paired smartphone. As you start moving with your phone in suspected area of lost item, the Tring will start beeping when it comes within 50 feet of the phone. Alternately, if you have misplaced your phone, you just need to press the single button on Tring Tracker, and the phone will start ringing even if the phone is in silent mode.

The anti-lost function of Tring will make your smartphone and your Tring device buzz if they are separated by more than 10 meters, and will continue to do so until brought back in to range. These alerts are avoided in “safe zones” like your home or office. Your smartphone stores the last location recorded on the map when it disconnects from the Tring Tracker. The in-built battery is claimed to last over a year, and can also take pictures or selfies when connected to a smartphone.

OnePlus introduces a new pair of earphones: Bullets V2

OnePlus has unveiled its new version of earphones named Bullets V2 that are specially designed for OnePlus devices. Not to be misunderstood, the earphones can be used with any smartphone having a 3.5mm headphone jack.

"We designed the OnePlus Bullets to perfectly compliment your OnePlus 3.The Bullets take your OnePlus 3 audio experience to the next level," according to OnePlus.

This time the Chinese handset manufacturer has tied up with a German firm LOFO to come up with the Bullets V2. LOFO specializes in audio technology and has an experience of about 88 years in the industry, claims OnePlus. As a result, we get a light weight yet extremely well built pair of earphones that features ARYPHAN polyarylate diaphragm along with an aluminium coil inside making it look stylish as well as durable.

To be precise, the Bullets V2 weighs only 14 grams and also feature an in-line remote which helps controlling music and attend calls. Jumping more into the specifications, the Bullets V2 come with 9mm dynamic drivers, SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) of 107dB, 3mW rated power and a frequency response rangin from 20Hz – 20,000Hz. Additionally, it features silicone tips and have an impedance of 24ohms. It comes with 3 size of earbus: Small, Medium and Large and has a wire length of 1.25m. There are two variants, White Remix and Black Mix.

Well, many of you might be thinking that OnePlus 3 doesn't have a 3.5mm headphone jack after all. But OnePlus was sensible enough to send a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter. Introducing a USB Type-C earphones would have just shrunken the target audience as not much people yet own devices featuring USB Type - C port.

The Bullets V2 headphone models are launched at $19.95, €19.95, or £15.99 depending on your location. The original Bullets which were launched in 2014 were launched at $14.99. OnePlus could have played a gamble here with the pricing but if the earphones live up to their expectations, we won't have much complaints. On the other hand, OnePlus surely has to keep an eye on competitors like Xiaomi who is constantly bringing in products like this at a cheaper price. There have been no information regarding the Price and Launch in India.

Intex announces 2.1 channel speaker IT Turbo SUF BT at Rs 4,000

Intex has announced the addition of a new speaker to its 2.1 channel speaker series called the IT-Turbo SUF BT. The speaker supports Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, an SD card slot and built-in FM. The speaker also comes with a LED display and an Aux input.

You can stay connected to the speakers via Bluetooth even at a distance of seven to 10 meters. If you are using a physical port on the speakers to play music, you can use the remote control to play, pause and change your audio.

The speakers provides (40W + 10W) X 2 output power. The speaker weighs 4.3 Kilograms. The speaker set features one subwoofer and two speaker unit with red accents. The center of the subwoofer features the volume knob and buttons, with a LED display over it.
