Xiaomi launches 10,000mAh Mi Power Bank Prime with USB Type-C port and Fast Charge support

Xiaomi has quietly launched a new power bank in China, called the Mi Power Bank Prime. The 10,000mAh power bank’s highlight is the USB Type-C port and Fast Charge support. The Mi Power Bank Prime is going on sale in China, priced at 149 Yuan (Rs 1,500 approximately). There is however no word on when it could launch in India.

Despite the size of the battery underneath, Xiaomi has managed to keep the thickness down to 12.58mm. This is quite impressive when you compare it with the 10,000mAh Mi Power Bank (22mm) launched last year.

Fenda Audio India Pvt. Ltd, which is simply known as F&D, has announced the launch of its A180X blue-tooth 2.1 multimedia speaker. The 2.1 speaker system has a 42-watt speaker system and comes with two satellite speakers and a subwoofer cabinet.

A US-based design studio is taking pre-orders for a neat side-facing plug that seems so obvious, Apple is probably wondering why it hadn't thought of it first.

Blockhead lets users fit their MacBook and iPad chargers to sit tight against the wall. Sculpted to fit the MacBook and iPad power adapter, users can slide their charging adapters behind a bed or couch, in tight spots where the standard Mac chargers would struggle to fit. Fitted with the standard power adapter, it takes just over an inch of space, in comparison to 3.8-inches of space that the standard plug adapter takes. It's also leaner than the standard power cord, which takes 2.6-inches of space.

To my knowledge there is no power bank for laptops. Instead you can have additional batteries. Now a days direct battery charges are available in market. You can keep your additional battary fully charged. when required you can swap it.

This Gadget Can Turn Your Phone Into a 3D Printer

A US-based company claims to have created a portable device that lets users create 3D prints by using the light from their smartphone screen.

The gadget called OLO is designed to be simple, consisting of three plastic pieces, one chip, and one motor, all operated by four AA batteries.

It measures 720x1150x1480mm and weighs 780 grams and is compact and light enough to fit in satchels or backpacks, 'Gizmag' reported.

Once an object has been loaded on the OLO mobile app, users then place the smartphone in the base, the company said.

The resin chamber, which offers 400 cubic centimetres of printing volume, rests directly above to hold the desired resin of choice, they said.

The top piece is set in place for a complete seal and OLO will be prepped for printing.

Pioneer launches new in car music system with Apple CarPlay in India

Pioneer India Electronics, an in-car entertainment systems maker, today announced the launch of AVIC-F80BT, its latest navigation-cum-entertainment system powered by Apple CarPlay, for Rs 51,990.

The AVIC-F80BT features 17.8 cm wide touch screen with multi-color LED display. It also features Bluetooth, Dual USB slots, Touch slide cross-over settings and steering wheel control for many cars. The unit gives its users an option to play music from numerous sources like CD-DVD/USB/SD/Radio/AUX/iPhone or Bluetooth. The navigation system has Map data for more than 7000 cities & 500,000 towns/villages across India.

Samsung Galaxy J3 with S-bike mode

Samsung has introduced a new phone model Galaxy J3 with a new feature called S-bike mode, that comes with a NFC tag which the user can stick on the bike tank or helmet. The S-bike mode can be activated by gently tapping the phone on the NFC tag or by pressing S-bike icon on the phone's quick panel.



My initial thought was this is going to be similar to a handsfree unit in a car where user can attend or decline a call handsfree, which is still unsafe in case of a bike rider. But contrary to what I thought, it is not really the S-bike mode is all about!.

What is S-Bike Mode?.

S-bike mode is a feature meant for assisting bikers to concentrate on road while driving, without any distractions by phone. In this mode, when the biker gets a call, the guest on the other end hears a pre-recorded message (with an option of 14 languages) saying that the person is right now riding a bike. In case the call is urgent, the caller may choose to press 1, which allows urgent calls to go through. There is an option to mark important contacts so the user will be notified when they call even with this mode on. A Smart Reply feature allows selected contacts to receive an automated SMS with an estimate of when the user is likely to be available for a call basis a trip destination entered by the user. The mode also got gestures, and the biker can dismiss the call all by a gesture. Another feature of S Bike Mode is Motion Lock, which ensures that if the user decides to take an urgent incoming call, they will need to bring their vehicle to a halt to be able to answer. Cool and safe feature, isn't it?.

Available in many motifs from astronauts to gorillas, these are actually works of art, though a bit kitschy. However, I do love the vibrancy of these little hold-me-while-you-work devices. Why not. There is no harm in getting a bit of colour in the workplace.

From a performance perspective, it is a Logitech at the end of the day. Every click translates to something on the screen and from work to play, this mouse can do it, and does it well. The wireless has a range of 10 metres as with other Bluetooth devices, and this can work well for those with smart TVs that need a mouse.

The mouse is, however, a bit on the heavy side as it uses a AA cell. The company claims the battery will last at least 12 months, which is great if true.

My only grouse is the price. At Rs 1,495 this mouse is thrice the price of decent competition in the market. I doubt a lot of people will feel the need to colour up their desktop at such a hefty premium.

If you can afford it, go ahead, join the party.

Nairrk, Good share.. yes as you have mentioned its costlier.. even if we thing the extra cost is for the funkyness, that is huge.. More over no battery lasts for 12 months.. Even duracel is not working.. I always carry set of bateries with my bag.. not only for me for others also..

Ambrane P-2000 20800 mAh power bank launched at Rs 1,699

Ambrane India, which is known for its computer peripherals, mobile accessories and power banks, has announced the launch of P-2000, a 20800 mAh power bank.

Priced at Rs 1,699, the P-2000 is clad in White with Grey Mosaic built. The product is already available through retail stores as well as ecommerce portals namely Snapdeal, Flipkart, Amazon and PayTm in India, as per the company.

Ambrane P-2000 has three USB charging ports. The device focuses on offering USB charging of different amperage (the ports with 1A, 2.1A and 2.1A), for simultaneous charging, to charge your gadgets around the clock. As per the Ambrane, the power bank offers a conversion rate of 80 percent & automatically adjusts output based on the device. The company also claims that this power bank, which comes with LG/Samsung Li-ion Cells, can fully charge most smart phones upto 7 to 8times.

"The powerbank is not only efficient but technologically intuitive as well. Its multiple chipset protection provides better security features. Crafted with keeping safety in mind – The device monitors output current and shuts off when current exceeds the maximum limit to protect the device. Furthermore, the device is well protected from High temperatures, short circuits, over discharge and electromagnetic fields," Ambrane claimed in a press release.

It has inbuilt Torch Light for the several SOS situations, along with the Indicative LED's to indicate for charging and discharging.
