I bought this smiledrive Monopod selfie stick with bluetooth remote last week. Its a must have for selfie addicts (I am not one [lol]) to get a wider pic with an extended view of the background. I had a Croma gift voucher which was about to expire this december, so thought of getting something useful which is priced within the range of my 1K gift coupon. Visited the Croma outlet in mumbai airport, as I was on a travel I was not looking to buy anything bulky like a new toaster. Saw this product and thought it will be fun to have one of these hot cakes. Used it with both iOS and android phones, its cool, no 3rd party app is required, its a nice gadget to play with. I got the deal at a higher price than in their website though.

Its a nice product. Easy to pair via bluetooth, once paired its one touch connect thereafter. The remote is easy to hold, well built, and battery life too seems to be good. The foldable stick is made of good quality material, got a good hand grip. The mobile holder can be fixed at different angles so that the stick won't appear in the clicks. Only con, the mobile holder may not be suitable for phones which are thick or got large display (5.5"etc). So test it before you buy.

P.S: As I am not a great selfie fan, I gave it to my cousin's son who had an eye on it from the first sight [lol]. He is using it extensively for selfies and playing pranks.[:)]

i dont know. This might be more than google chrromecast. Really am not sure you can do all (whatever mentioned here) in google chromecast. I thought google chrome cast is merely a replication device thru with you can replicate your mobile, laptop using wifi technology.

Correct me if am wrong.

Netgear AC1200 Wi-Fi Range Extender (EX6120) Launched at Rs. 5,500

Netgear on Tuesday announced the India launch of its new AC1200 Wi-Fi Range Extender (EX6120) with streaming speeds up to 1200Mbps. The Netgear AC1200 Wi-Fi Range Extender (EX6120) would be available in India through authorised Netgear partners and other reseller channels by the first week of March at a retail price of Rs. 5,500 with a warranty of two years.

The Netgear AC1200 Wi-Fi Range Extender (EX6120) enables consumers to expand and improve Wi-Fi signals throughout their home. Its high-powered amplifiers eradicate "dead zones" and maximise Wi-Fi performance with the help of high-power external antennae, the company said in a press release. The Wi-Fi range extender features 802.11ac technology which makes simultaneous use of dual 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands, and also sports a Ethernet port.

"Range extenders are a fast growing segment for Netgear as more and more customers are choosing it due to the great convenience it offers in enhancing existing home networks. With the Ex6120, Netgear brings the new high speed 802.11ac standard to range extenders, enabling customers to experience greater range and high speed connections at home," said Subhodeep Bhattacharya, Netgear regional director, India & SAARC.

Netgear products are sold in approximately 44,000 retail locations around the world, and through approximately 37,000 value-added resellers. The company's headquarters are in San Jose, California, in the US, with additional offices in over 25 countries.

I wonder who would be the potential buyers of this extender at this price!!. Currently most of the people must be using 150/300 mbps routers (which are cheaper than this repeater, an auxillary product) at their homes, even if they use this repeater the router-repeater speed will remain 150/300 mbps only. The repeater-end user (mobile/laptop) speed would get upgraded upto 1200 mbps. But ultimately this can't make any difference to the user experience. Routers like Netgear R6220, which have 1200 mbps speed are cheaper in price than this repeater. If at all the user need an even better coverage he/she can use any old wifi routers lying around or buy another R6220 router or similar ones and tweak it to function as a repeater. If netgear is not going to cut down the price, this product will spend its lifetime in seller's shelves IMO.

This Cheap Cable Can Charge Your iPhone as Well as Android Smartphone

Most Android users have the luxury to carry just one USB cable and get away with charging all the devices with it. The same can't be said for iPhone and iPad users. You will likely find them carrying two cables, one with a Lightning connector and the other a standard Micro-USB cable to feed rest of their devices. A company called LMcable wants to fix that with its 'iOS & Android Common Connector' cable.

LMcable is able to charge both iOS and Android devices because it has combined their respective connectors into one. One side of the connector is for iPhone and iPad, whereas the other side can be utilised to charge devices that sport a Micro-USB port.

^Lightning to micro USB adapter is a cheaper and easily available option IMO. Carry the universal micro USB cable for phones like samsung and use this adapter when you are using an iOS device. I think the above cable by LMcable when imported to India is going to cost a bomb, it won't be that cheaper.

Amazon Tap, Echo Dot Alexa-powered devices launched

American electronic commerce and cloud computing company Amazon.com has introduced two devices designed to amplify the role of its voice-controlled assistant Alexa in Amazon Echo, the wireless cylindrical-shaped speaker. The devices, called the Amazon Tap and Echo Dot, cost less than $180 and offer slightly different features in an attempt to plant Amazon’s Internet-connected microphones in more homes and other places.

Echo Dot is an Echo without the big speaker housing. Users can plug the puck-like device directly into another speaker or connect it to another speaker over Bluetooth, and the Dot will play music and communicate with the user, the Verge reported. The objective of the Echo Dot is to bring Amazon’s voice assistant, Alexa, to many other devices throughout the home.

Amazon Echo is a wireless speaker and voice command device from Amazon.com. The device consists of a 9.25-inch (23.5 cm) tall cylinder speaker with a seven-piece microphone array. The device responds to the name ‘ Alexa’.
