Vivo V5 explodes while charging, users await company's acknowledgment

A smartphone is not the safest piece of hardware and given how handset manufacturers have recently crossed the limits in terms of design, one should always be careful with these compact computers. A recent incident which took place in Karnal, Haryana, saw Vivo's V5 burn into flames while it was plugged in for charging. When the story broke on the internet, various users wished that this is the rarest of the rare cases.

A OnePlus One smartphone has reportedly exploded while charging, causing property damage and leaving users' left arm with second-degree burns.

OnePlus One user (slr722gts/Froyo) posted several disturbing images and videos showing his burn marks alongside the whole description as to what happened on OnePlus Forum.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 explosion caught on video: Report

Just as we put behind the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 nightmare, news of a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 smartphone exploding has filtered in. The blast occurred in Bengaluru, and surprisingly, it was not at home, but at a store. The blast was captured on camera. This is the first such case of a Redmi Note 4 smartphone exploding though previously, other Xiaomi smartphones have been in news for randomly bursting into fire. The video in question was captured on the CCTV inside the store.

This year saw a sudden influx of reports about smartphones heating up or batteries exploding. Now a frayed iPhone charger appears to have caused the death of a 14-year-old girl in Vietnam. Immediate reports do point to electrocution as the cause of death, but investigations are on, and Apple is yet to respond to the matter.

Apple iPhone 6 reportedly explodes in man's hands

An Apple iPhone 6 smartphone mysteriously caught fire at a grocery store in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn. According to a report by abc7, the user, Abd Ghaith was texting one of his friends, when his iPhone 6 started to imitate some smoke from the sides of the device. Later, when Abd pulled out the case of the phone to see the back, the smartphone exploded.

iPhone battery explodes again at Apple store; this time in Spain

Another report of an iPhone battery explosion has surfaced online. This time at an Apple Store in Valencia, Spain, an iPhone battery started emitting smoke and exploded. As reported by a local newspaper LasProvincias, this incident led to the entire floor being filled with smoke. While the people present in the premises were evacuated, luckily no one suffered any injuries.

Girl, 18, killed when mobile phone explodes while she is chatting to relative

An 18-year-old girl was killed when her mobile exploded as she chatted on it, her family claim.
